I'm gonna ask this again and maybe I we luck out an answer. Hairstylists in North Raleigh or Wake Forest area that can do funky cuts and color? Or anywhere really I guess.
6/17/2014 11:00:50 AM
I like Bella Trio...they've helped with my fashion show for the past 2 years and always have some fun dos.I don't really get my hair cut or colored, so I'm sure some of these ladies have suggestions as well.
6/17/2014 11:51:32 AM
atomic salon does fun stuffhttp://www.atomicsalon.com/home.htmlyou'd want their uptown location]
6/17/2014 11:55:14 AM
Is atomic salon the place next to irregardless? If so my friend used to go there. Did not know they had an uptown location!
6/17/2014 12:07:22 PM
yes. and the uptown location is newish. they opened a year or two ago i think
6/17/2014 12:12:40 PM
is that the kind of place that gives you cocktails while they cut your hair? How does that shit not end up in your drink?
6/17/2014 4:12:53 PM
LOL @ "uptown"And "midtown," for that matter.
6/17/2014 5:22:46 PM
I agree Bridget. Where does everyone buy their sexy time toys? My favorite one broke
6/18/2014 9:09:20 AM
^ I like Cherry Pie. Adam & Eve doesn't have much selection, and what they do have is too much money for what you are getting. I haven't been to Frisky Business yet, but I know I need to. If you know what you want, and you just need a good price, then Amazon's Sexual Wellness store is best. http://tinyurl.com/khmo3bh
6/18/2014 9:20:15 AM
Thank you! I think amazon is the way to go. Any favorite brands? The one I want is way too much money. http://www.lelo.com/index.php?collectionName=femme-homme&groupName=ELISE-2
6/18/2014 9:34:50 AM
lol do you want it just bc its got your name on it? A good salon in N. Raleigh is Douglas Carroll on Falls in the shopping center where The Fresh Market is.I've been going there for a couple years now. It's got a spa as well so you can go get pampered. It's a little on the pricey side. A women's haircut starts at $65.00. I've never gotten my hair highlighted or colored there but my mom does every other month. I think it runs her almost $200 for highlights.http://www.douglascarrollsalon.com/[Edited on June 18, 2014 at 11:04 AM. Reason : d]
6/18/2014 11:04:17 AM
Yes, but it also has good reviews 200 dollars is a lot of money...tell me that isn't the norm! I used to go to trade secret in triangle for a haircut. It cost about 30 bucks.
6/18/2014 11:31:19 AM
well she gets her hair cut plus highlights
6/18/2014 11:33:54 AM
Hello ladies.
6/18/2014 11:35:07 AM
If I just want a simple haircut, I'll go to Mitchell's for $30.00but if I want a real change (like a drastic cut or something), I'll go see my guy at Douglas Carroll
6/18/2014 11:36:25 AM
I haven't bought a purse since high school, and the two that I have barely fit my phone so I think I should buy a new one. I like the lesportsac hobo https://www.lesportsac.com/Classic_Hobo but the logo is kind of obnoxious. Anyone know of a simple looking lightweight bag that's not covered in logos?
6/20/2014 10:22:54 PM
shit, I know how to contour now.http://www.buzzfeed.com/beckycatherineharris/people-try-contouring-for-the-first-time
6/25/2014 8:23:46 PM
^^just go to marshall's/tj maxx/burkes/ross/steinmart....or even belkyou can find reasonably priced purses in all shapes, sizes, and colors....
6/25/2014 9:04:35 PM
Just stopping in to say that I really dislike the wedge-style shoe. You know, the kind that is shaped kind of like high heels but the heel is filled in. That style is like the Honda Element of women's shoes.
6/25/2014 9:10:09 PM
Me too. You look weird and walk weird.[Edited on June 25, 2014 at 9:18 PM. Reason : n]
6/25/2014 9:17:03 PM
contouring seems way too time consuming...i would like to try it though just to see the results
6/25/2014 10:00:28 PM
^thismy usual routine takes all of 5 minutes b/c I don't usually have time to give many fucks. bb cream is the best thing ever made btw
6/25/2014 10:58:12 PM
Yep... Bb cream is the most wonderful gift given to the low maintenance professional woman who wants to wear makeup
7/5/2014 10:25:02 PM
i started using this stuff recently. not as heavy as the pur minerals powder i was using. nice for summer. a++ would apply again.those ladies at ulta are some good sales people. i can't walk out of there without spending $$$also, for $5 i have found this mascara to be the bomb.it has little fibers in it. extends the lashes. i always run my brush under really hot water for .2 seconds to make my mascara go on smoothly. i don't care if you think its gross....it works perfectly.
7/5/2014 10:35:58 PM
Oh man I will totally pick up some of that mascara for five dollar bucks
7/5/2014 11:03:30 PM
I'm curious about the water thing
7/6/2014 7:09:32 PM
I recently started contouring and really like it. I don't do it for casual, everyday looks though.
7/6/2014 11:04:31 PM
Do you use a powder or cream? Do you also do highlighting?
7/6/2014 11:10:00 PM
I start with a cream foundation for a base. Then I use a matte powder for the dark areas and a shiny highlighter for the areas I want to emphasize. I use this for the highlighter because I have a free sample from sephora. http://m.sephora.com/watt-s-up-P295206?skuId=1357250
7/6/2014 11:50:39 PM
I'm with you. I've always applied my make-up similarly because my mother bought me a hilarious Cindy Crawford book instead of actually showing me.But I don't think this is what other people imagine as "contouring."
7/7/2014 12:28:55 AM
bb cream contouring is a thing now. (big in japan blah blah blah). basically, you just use 2 or 3 shades of cream to paint your face and blend it all in. doesn't seem like a great idea if you might sweat.
7/7/2014 4:16:46 PM
I've been experimenting with hightlighting/contouring the last couple of weeks. Check out Carli Bybel's YouTube channel. There's plenty of tutorials out there but I just love all of her videos[Edited on July 7, 2014 at 11:23 PM. Reason : also I love tarte! I'm so mad that they discontinued my agent 00. I have some left that I mix with t][Edited on July 7, 2014 at 11:24 PM. Reason : heir foundation. I need to find more on eBay. ]
7/7/2014 11:21:48 PM
^^that actually seems like a really good idea that would be pretty foolproof
7/7/2014 11:36:05 PM
Question for any short ladies...My wife is short (like 4' 10"). Is there any place that sells petite size dresses that actually has decent variety in styles and doesn't cost a fortune? On her, mini skirts / dresses go down to her knees and anything full length is much too long (she can't wear heels much taller than 4" or so).Any suggestions? Besides shopping in youth departments.
7/8/2014 1:01:50 PM
I like Ann Taylor Loft Petites, and it's not too expensive.
7/8/2014 1:12:23 PM
anyone have a good primer they really like and have experienced great results? I use benefit's primers, tarte's poreless primer and even monistat's anti-chafing gel (I know, lol, it's supposed to work) but still my make up cracks in my fine lines and wrinkles.
7/8/2014 3:52:49 PM
I loved Philosophy's primer from a sample I got, but I haven't bought a full size one. I don't use primer that often and have a thing of Laura Geller Spackle (which I don't like much) I would prefer to use before I buy more.
7/8/2014 3:55:24 PM
i used to have that issue. nothing helped. so i stopped wearing foundation. I slap some bb cream on my t zone b/c it's a little bit darker and it evens stuff out a bit, and then finish off with an ultra fine finishing translucent powder. when I need it I use some concealer.haven't had that issue sincenot what you were asking for exactly but....... *shrug*
7/8/2014 3:56:05 PM
Anyone 4'10" really needs to get a sewing machine and learn how to use it. Most dresses and skirts aren't that hard to hem, and it will make her life so much easier.
7/8/2014 4:07:12 PM
"Back to school" season ...closer to Fall...closer to being able to wear Fall clothes.
8/6/2014 7:00:23 PM
I use NARS light optimizing primer EVERY day and love it. I only have fine smile lines but you don't even notice them. AND I have a lovely JLo like glow errrrday!
8/7/2014 9:29:48 AM
Have any of you ladies ever done laser hair removal? If so, how did it go?
