I guarantee you will see results with P90X. That is, if you maintain a fairly healthy diet in addition to working out.
6/23/2010 5:05:23 PM
so how does one get started in p90x? how much is it and what equipment do you need?are there local gyms that do this in a group setting?
6/23/2010 5:09:13 PM
are there no in between pics for that tiffany forni chick? i'd like to see what she did with all her excess skin
6/23/2010 5:12:30 PM

6/23/2010 5:34:28 PM
how do you do the p90x at your gym? do you just know the routine and do it there?i have p90x but i was hesitant to start it bc of the equipment needs and my travel schedule. thats why i went with insanitythinking i will do p90x after insanity but not every single day. however i will continue the meal plan. i have been successful with that for going on 3 weeks so its become a habit & i dont spend as much time figuring out my meals because i already know how it stacks up
6/23/2010 5:38:30 PM
My friends and I do the P90X and Insanity routines in our gym (from our iPods or iPhones) or we reserve a conference room at my office and watch the workouts on a projector screen.

P90x will really only tone the shit out of you... if you want mass, you need to lift. Forrealz.

^ Did you alter your diet at all for P90x?Just put today's eating into Fit Day for the first time and good god, no wonder I'm having trouble.Carbs are way too high... this oatmeal bar thing I eat has 44g of carbs and 22g of sugar Gotta make some major changes. It's 40% Carbs, 40% Protein, 20% Fat, right?[Edited on June 23, 2010 at 6:46 PM. Reason : .]

^from what ive heard thats a good way to start. everyone's alittle different and you can adjust it to your needs.i find that a little higher fat for me makes me leaner and doesn't affect my energy

I would bet the biggest gains are from altering diet. Then, there is no doubt that p90x works because it's 1.5 fucking hours a day. You can do basically anything for that long and see results. The only question is whether you can stay committed to any 1.5 hour/day program for 3 months.Since it doesn't require a lot of equipment and it tells you exactly what to do, p90x may make that easier than other exercise programs. But there should really be no surprise or doubt that the program will work.[Edited on June 23, 2010 at 9:11 PM. Reason : .]

OK THAT'S ITI'VE HAD ENOUGHcan someone please burn me a copy of p90x and/or insanity?! I'm poor and feel left out.
6/23/2010 9:58:47 PM
todays damage.the thing...65 g of those carbs were eaten post 8 pm i do that most nights (its mostly fruits and veggies)the next few weeks im gonna make a solid effort to lower my carbs even more, especially in the evening

6/23/2010 10:02:02 PM
Seriously son, fuck this P90x & Insanity bullshit... There should be a separate thread for that shit ahah. If you're dedicated, it's just as easy to get the goal of a "beach body" by doing it the oldschool way.
6/23/2010 10:09:22 PM
well i dont have the time or patience to figure out my work outs. nor do i care.id rather pay for the dvds and be done with iti just wanna look good (quote from shaun t)

I figured I should finally put some pictures up. At the moment I'm technically up 6 lbs from where I was when this all started, but I gained all that within the past week since I was convinced I wasn't eating enough. It doesn't seem to have too much of an effect one way or the other.Oh and please excuse the wicked roadster tan on my arms. It used to look like this: http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs047.snc3/13435_808038153019_11802080_43893469_8305789_n.jpg[Edited on June 23, 2010 at 11:11 PM. 6/23/2010 11:09:13 PM
I'm just about to start my workout... goal of 200 pushups in 5 minutes. Drank a monster protein shake a little while ago and I'm gonna see how it feels.

so I tried to eat ~1500kcals yesterday since it was my day offI managed to get just under 1600, but I feel like I hardly ate anything! I tried to eat quality foods but dang... it was rough and I completely missed all my macro goals

i was talking to my trainer yesterday - and he showed me how to calculate my RMR weight*10*1.4 = Calories burned per day (outside of exercise) i know that fit day calculates it for you if you want to plug it in - but that's the calculation. he said 1.4 is about average for most people, unless you're doing a lot of strenuous activity during the day or being completely sedentary and not moving. just fwiw
6/24/2010 8:19:48 AM
the 1.4 is a 2 for me and all i do is chat on my phone.
6/24/2010 8:29:43 AM
^^Out of curiousity, why isn't it just body weight * 14 = RMR? What's the point of putting 10*1.4 in there? Are we supposed to flex in our photos? I thought it was just at ease photos8^Damn Stein, looking buff. I might have to stop making fun of your car, lest you beat me up
6/24/2010 8:40:50 AM
Lookin good Stein! ^ I flex in my photos because ... well, I just want to SPEAKING of flexing... I was bored the other day and flexing in the mirror (haha) to see what I would like to work on the most. I just want to know where the hell my trap muscles came from?!?! I guess even though I haven't been losing the inches I wanted to (due to my own fault) I can at least say my trap/shoulder/back is looking pretty good these days and I noticed I hardly have any fat on the inside of my arms near my shoulders now... it's muscle, woot!

I thought you were done trolling in here
6/24/2010 9:15:32 AM
God, would you look down on people who work off pre-written lifting programs too? They're still doing the work, getting in those blood, sweat and tears ... but since they are being lazy by not reinventing the wheel and designing their own program from scratch, they're just going to stay fat, right?
6/24/2010 9:20:21 AM
^begonias wrote almost all of my workouts for 2+ months. I lost inches and became stronger, even though I wasn't writing all my stuff.I'm now using that prewritten workout schedule over again... am I lazy, even though I'll put in a minimum of one hour of lifting? Or work really hard on cardio exercises she wrote out?

So for the past while I have been trying to eat better and dropped some pounds simply from that. After talking to my sister and her fiance who are big into working out and nutrition they have ruined food for me. They gave me this 120 page article on basically how marketing tricks us into thinking we are actually eating healthy and explains what and exactly why everything is bad for you. Pretty much explaining that you can scrap calorie counting and so called diets and rely on your body. If you are eating the right foods and not all the crap that you think is healthy then you simply eat when you are hungry and let the body and nature take care of it. Unfortunately the food listed as actually being good for you eliminates like 90% of what most of us eat every day .
6/24/2010 10:16:31 AM
eh, i'll keep it civil[Edited on June 24, 2010 at 10:17 AM. Reason : lkj]
6/24/2010 10:16:54 AM
^^ see i don't want to function like that though - i'd rather be able to eat what i want within reason - ie smaller portions - then eliminate a crap ton of food from my dietwhen i start to fail dieting is when i feel like i'm giving up everything that i enjoy eating
6/24/2010 10:18:35 AM
yea but how do you eat less of a Five Guys cheeseburger? can't be done.
6/24/2010 10:21:46 AM
p90x is hard as hell how can anybody slam it. it isnt for putting on mass but there is no way you cant lose weight doing it. i wanted to die after 10 minutes.
6/24/2010 10:22:48 AM
Its just a case of misguided elitism.
