Food Lions in certain areas (verified for Food Lions in North Georgia) are going to start doubling coupons $.60 or less on Wednesday.

Hopefully this is a system-wide change!

Went to food lion today and they have a new MVP machine that prints out coupons to use that day only. I ended up saving $1 for buying 10 pounds of Holly Farm Chicken, $1 for buying 2 bags of FL brand cheese, and used two $3 off a purchase of $60 since my bill was $150.

I have one. Word of advice if you are planning to use it at HT Super Doubles...it says "Do not double" up at the top. And during triples/super doubles, cashiers are more likely to pull this coupon out and manually enter it so that it will not double/triple.

^ That's cool and all but you did not get enough food for me!

My haul:

$106.99 for $13.86 and I still have about $15 of FREE stuff to go back and get tomorrow!

Oh and I am new to this thread and I just wanted to point out this

Quote :
"You can get a lot of stuff for free or really cheap, especially at stores that double them, but it will be mostly refrigerated biscuits, rice, peanut butter, etc. Very little that you can really make into a meal. "

and say HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA if anything you be getting TONS of GOOD brand name stuff you have never had and plenty of to make meals! For example, I have got 6 bags of saffaron rice, a pack of Perdue chicken beasts individuals, and 3 packs Steamers veggies all in one trip for like 4 dollars, and thats at the very least 3 relatively balanced meals if you eat bread with it, and drank my free vitamin water with it!

And for doubters my average grocery bill is about 35% of the original price (I do the math), whether on sale or not, and on triples or super doubles it gets ridiculous as you can see above.

Awesome.

I just took my brother to HT during our lunch hour

We stocked up on free cat treats. Some are coming home with me and some are going to his girlfriend. Our cats are going to be spoiled.

Most Friskies cat treats are $2/package. There was an insert q for $1/1.

Friskies Party Mix are $2/package as well and I used a $1.50/2 q to get them for $.50/package. My cats prefer these b/c they are crunchy.

Cat treats are high in calories and can make them fat. Use them sparingly and responsibly!

hahahah

i have a seriously skinny kitty (because the other 2 bully her and eat all the food) so i feed her 3 or 4 cat treat pieces every morning. if she doesn't get them, she follows me around whining until she gets them. cats are smart like that, haha.

the funny thing is, as a kitten, we named her The Notorious Mrs. Bigglesworth (aka Biggie) and she turned out to be the pipsqueak of the bunch

from the 5/2 SmartSource.

Also Whiskas temptations treats are 3/$5 and there were $1/1 coupons (good on only the 2.1 oz size) in the 4/18 Red Plum.

I keep thinking of more deals. Using the $1.50 coupon from Sunday's paper, Snuggle Fabric softener is free (priced at $2.99).

^our kitten bullies our 2 adult cats out of food/water.

Oh and I got 3 free things of Snuggle!

You probably already know this but they will only take 3 like coupons. So you could only use 3 coupons for the Velveeta.

This is why I like Lowes Foods. They take 4 like coupons.

http://www.harristeeter.com/promotions/in_store_rewards.aspx

I got $5 taken off my order this morning b/c I had accumulated 40 "Healthy Smile Points". For every $1 you spend on oral care items, they give you one point. Get 40 points and they take $5 off your next order of $5 or more. Best part is that they take the pre-coupon amount of the oral care item.

I was expecting my bill to be $5 or $6 but it was actually -$.07 b/c $5 was taken off.

Roommate got four $5 off $25 purchase coupons from HT in the mail...each for a different week. If anyone has used these, at what point do they calculate the $25 requirement? I assume its before coupons, but is it before or after VIC savings? Also, he very likely wont use them...are they transferable on VIC accounts?

If anyone has the $3 off Chef Michael's dog food coupons, I'd love to have them. My pup goes through that stuff like a bag a week.

I can trade almost any Q for them. Just send me a request.

Sam, and others who subscribe to the N&O: go back, and review ALL your activity with them.

When I got a renewal request with my paper, I was all "WTF this shouldn't expire til two weeks after [date they gave me as expiration date]"

While I was filing this past week, Id found an older renewal request that had some notes written on it; namely "Corrected expiration date to 6/28". I know that at the time, I'd done a CC payment over the phone, and emailed myself details of that, and so went looking for it.

On 8/31, I'd done a 1yr subscription, start date of 9/6/09.

If I hadn't caught this shit, I'd have been gypped of 25% of my subscription.

Also, don't forget that if your paper is misdelivered/wet/etc, you can report delivery problems, and either request redelivery (by 11am on Sundays; used to be noon ), or have your account credited. I ended up getting a free month way back when, because despite us having a N&O box, our carrier would always throw our paper on the ground, and 3 of the 4 weeks, it was soaked.

Also, so...my subscription is til 9/13/10. This Sunday, I leave for Colorado, for at least a couple months. If I can't convert to the mail delivery option, or they don't let me do a vacation hold for that long, is anyone interested in buying out my subscription (I'll change the delivery address to yours), or have any other suggestions?

Not sure of other's experience, but currently the Nabisco products (Wheat Thins, Triscuits, etc) have $1 off coupons on them and they're currently on sale for $3/box.

The $1 off coupon says do not double, but my cashier scanned it like normal and it doubled, therefore I got the Triscuits for $1. Was the cashier supposed to do something different with the coupon to make it not double?

Some cashiers will pull coupons out that say "do not double"/"do not triple" and manually enter them so that they don't double/triple. The cashiers are supposed to be on the lookout for those during triples/super doubles but some cashiers just don't care.

^I been shopping at HT for years and I've never had them do that. It doesn't matter if it says 'do not double' or not. When HT mails them in, the manufactures aren't going to give the stores anymore than face value anyway. During these promotion HT is taking a small hit on that extra dollar in exchange for getting more people into the store who may buy items that aren't on sale/coupon. So to HT the 'do not doubles' are no different than coupons that don't say that.
However this common misconception allows me to pick up some cheap/free items other folks would skip over because they don't think their coupon will double.

I've never had them pull out the coupons either BUT I have heard of other couponers that have run into that problem.

And Lowes Food actually wrote into their coupon policy that they will not double coupons that say "do not double"/"do not triple". They will pull those and manually enter them.

^^Kind of like the people that throw away expired coupons because they think they dont work anymore...Ive only had once occasion where I was denied because the coupon was expired.

Had a $5 off $25 coupon I tried to use at HT last night...my subtotal after VIC and before coupons was $27. After all of the other coupons it was down to $15, so they said I couldnt use the $5 coupon. What a crock...coupon scanner woman needs to just shut her mouth and scan coupons.

Food Lion has a promotion going on with Kraft products. Buy 5 participating Kraft products and get $5 off your order. Kraft salad dressing is included and on sale 3/$5. There is also a catalina deal going on.

Buy 2, get a $1.00 CAT coupon good on your next shopping order
Buy 3, get a $2.00 CAT coupon good on your next shopping order
Buy 4 or more, get a $3.00 CAT coupon good on your next shopping order

There are $.55 coupons from a recent insert for the dressing.

Here is how it worked out for me:
5 dressings at $1.67 each=$8.32
$5 off order= -5
=$3.32
5 $.55 coupons= -$2.75
=$.57 oop

Received $3 catalina

AHA, so I found more deals (nothing awesome like that^), but I think I'm gonna keep 'em to myself. At this point, my enduring excitement for couponing is kinda embarrassing, and I'm rambling about it a great deal without even thinking. I gotta start playing it cool, or I'm gonna start losing friends to this hobby...
