Is that not what drew brees is? If you're going to break a QB down into 3 adjectives that is instead of judging them more closely.

Joie has a pretty face, a nice ass and big tits. So does Scarlett Jo. Does this make them equals?

^^^ Uh, I don't know if you just quoted the wrong thing there? Are you replying to the 2010 recieving corp question? If so, remember that Jackson held out for 10 weeks and only played sparingly after that. Floyd and Gates both missed multiple games due to injury.^ Unless you plan on going into a deeper analysis, then yeah.[Edited on October 16, 2012 at 11:32 AM. Reason : ]

Gates also crushed it in the games he played. I think he had the second most TDs in his career. Jackson was out...but they still had big WRs and Sproles.Definitely not a bad set of guys.
10/16/2012 11:34:13 AM
Not horrible in the same way as the Rams recievers, but clearly nowhere near top 10.

Rivers needs a pocket to step into. Everybody knows that he can't throw off his back foot or on the run. The offensive line has been shit for 2 years now, and it's killing him.Give him a decent OLine and he'll play like a top-10 QB. Not even a great line, just a decent one where he can set his feet before throwing. Also, he really shouldn't be in Norv's offense. Norv is all about the vertical passing game, and Rivers doesn't really have the armstrength to make all the throws. Put him in a Payton or Garrett-style spread offense and he'll do much better. Hopefully this season results in Norv getting fired and a few linemen being drafted, and we can see what Rivers is capable of with a play-caller who is not stuck in the 90's. But it's very possible that the new coach goes in a different direction, and Rivers has to try to ressurect his career in a shithole like Cleveland or Jacksonville.[Edited on October 16, 2012 at 11:42 AM. lol someone called nanee good.
10/16/2012 11:45:57 AM
People thought he was going to be good...just that he was buried behind a lot of WRs in San Diego. There was a good deal of optimism when Carolina signed him. Lol at this being his profile pic on wikipedia:
10/16/2012 12:00:04 PM
I agree with jbrick on this one. Rivers has simply regressed the past couple years and is a fringe Top-15 QB. He and Romo are the most frustrating QBs to follow/watch/own in fantasy. Hopefully Norv will finally get fired, Rivers can start working with a new coach and rejunvenate his career next year. It's sad to see him on the downslide when he should have still been in his prime. I still don't understand some of the decision making. It's like he's turned into Cutler now. Plus he needs to learn to stop damn fumbling everytime he gets hit.[Edited on October 16, 2012 at 1:51 PM. Reason : f]

He does fumble too much, but the one last night for a TD was all on the offensive line. Everyone fumbles when they hit the ball while you're throwing, if you were holding onto the ball securely you wouln't be able to throw. He didn't hold it too long, just didn't get any protection.
10/16/2012 2:05:10 PM
He had two fumbles lost last night. 2nd one he was holding the ball low and loosely.
10/16/2012 2:13:00 PM
Oh I didn't watch the 4th quarter, I was tired as hell.
10/16/2012 2:25:38 PM
I shouldn't have subjected myself to the punishment. The last half of the 4th quarter was painful.
10/16/2012 2:31:51 PM
^^^yeah that particular fumble was protection breakdown. RW's fumble was pretty much identical.the other one was on him.3 out of his four interceptions were bad/forced decisions. The other one was a timing route where it wasn't quite clear if Royal was interfered with or if he gave up on the route.[Edited on October 16, 2012 at 3:12 PM. Reason : .]

One thing that has amazed me about Rivers career is that he's somewhat linked with many of the other great/good QBs in football. It is weird in my opinion, but I'm sure it's just me:1. Eli - traded for each other on draft day, I've always wanted Rivers to do better than Eli.2. Brees - SD kept Rivers over the injured Brees, same thing as above.3. Roethlisberger - drafted behind Rivers and Eli, same thing as above.4. Cutler - SD-Denver rivalry, Rivers was/is the better QB5. Brady/Peyton - battling these two icons for the AFC during their primes, weak link, but he almost joined these guys in the elite.6. Schaub - went H2H in college for multiple years, weak link as well.I don't really think of any other QBs in this nature except for maybe Eli and comparing him to Peyton.

11/11/2012 3:18:10 PM
Just got torn up trying to force a play that was dead.
11/11/2012 3:18:30 PM
^^I mean I'm not watching the game, but it appears he has a 130 quarterback rating and only has five incompletions.
11/11/2012 3:22:57 PM
grrr, so hard to watch -- get it together pr^ yeah 90% completions but tosses a pick 6 that kills the team[Edited on November 11, 2012 at 3:24 PM. Reason : int]

^driving for the go-ahead score, instead gives the Bucs 7
11/11/2012 3:30:26 PM
I can't understand why Norv insists on rolling him out. He stinks when throwing on the run.
11/11/2012 3:35:15 PM
yet another shitty throw
11/11/2012 3:42:14 PM
wheres your chit chat "Post here when Philip Rivers sucks" thread
11/11/2012 4:18:22 PM
I actually like PRiv, but he can't escape NC State shit. $cam doesn't have that excuse
11/11/2012 4:21:41 PM
i like them bothi also don't believe in "NC State shit"

Wilson is our best NFL QB
11/11/2012 4:25:13 PM
the Chargers got rid of all of Rivers' weapons aside from Gates, and didn't really replace themshitty franchise
11/11/2012 4:27:02 PM
Wilson is our Wisconsin's best NFL QB
11/11/2012 4:27:19 PM
He sucks, time to stop sugar coating it lol...
11/11/2012 4:36:47 PM
he's definitely been making bad decisions, trying to force things that aren't there, that result in to him morphing into Bronco-era Jay Cutler To be somewhat fair, AJ Smith has fucked the team over in terms of talent pipeline. His receivers are mediocre, the running game is subpar, the OL is mediocre, and the defense hasn't looked good since Wade Philips left for Dallas. He pretty much has to do it all. It doesn't help when Norv calls designed rollouts for the most immobile QB in the NFL. SD is the west coast Panthers in terms of organizational ineptitude. It's similar to what he had to deal with in college. PR was the best QB in the history of the ACC and the team never finished better than 4th in the conference.

I guess they never knew they could get a first down without getting a TD
12/2/2012 7:38:58 PM
good ole norv. get a 1st and 10 just inside the 20 with over a minute to play and dial up 4 shitty plays going for the end zone. there is no reason why SD shouldn't have been taking short passes there. they turned it back over with 50 or so seconds left
12/2/2012 7:39:10 PM
sirius question. is Phil in danger of getting benched?
12/2/2012 7:41:48 PM
for Whitehurst? lol
12/2/2012 7:43:40 PM
^I hope he is, not soon before he gets injured...
12/2/2012 7:44:02 PM
No. but Norv and AJ Smith are gone.
12/2/2012 7:44:04 PM
There's no doubt that Norv is gone after this season, it's a wonder he kept his job this long. AJ Smith is probably the worst GM in the NFL.Now, that said, Phil better get his act together or he's probably gone after next season.
12/2/2012 7:48:18 PM
He needs to go that place is downhill.
12/2/2012 7:49:54 PM
poor phil...i mean, no doubt, hes playing like ass...but the front office let guys like Turner, LT, Sproles and VJax walk without replacing them with legitimate NFL talent. I mean, the only receiver he can count on right now is Malcolm Floyd and he is little more than the special teams demon he used to be. Ridiculous how they screwed that offense over.
