well, SG knows..but they have a limited amount of control (which no doubt someone will use as an excuse during the campaign season)Athletics is in a bind...money has been spent on a system that works flawlessly at every other school that uses it--just not our'sstill too busy to put up the whole backstory and future recommendations, but I will get that up this week

1. Just because it works somewhere else, doesn't mean it will work here. At least athletics will hopefully find a better way to deal with it next year. I believe that athletics was like "oh, lets not worry about it, it works everywhere else so it'll work here". Obviously no one in charge has been paying attention to all the problems or they still wouldn't be going on right now. Nothing is perfect the first time through, so keep someone monitoring things to make sure it is fixed properly.2. There should be a centralized server here and people capable of fixing it should be in charge, that way it can be kept in working order. Maintenance should be done during the night if possible when it won't have the biggest impact on people trying to log in.3. Get a group of students together to handle ticket issues. Basically, do what Lee is doing but spread it out over more people so it isn't all loaded on one person. Any problems should be reported to them and they will either fix the less complex ones or find someone else for the bigger problems.4. Implement a transfer tickets option along with cancel. This way, you have an option to cancel your ticket and allow it to be up for grabs by anyone or transfer the ticket to a certain person. That person can then verify the transfer and use the ticket. This will help the loyalty point issue. Those who were being generous and giving their tickets away won't be penalized for people not using the ticket after it has been given away. 1) Seniors have better chances at tickets, not great seats, for the Senior game2) Maintanence, as dumb as this sounds, is automatic on the server and not controlled by Athletics, so sometimes it inteferes with a claim/request period----I will ask they extend it tomorrow since this happened3) I actually agreed with the reason behind not allowing a person-specific transfer option, because of all of the other things the software can't seem to get right. That's just a shitload of problems waiting to happen. And if you claim a ticket, you should use it. stop giving it away, cancel it. Seriously people, there is a week for you to decide if you really want the ticket--just cancel. If your friend isn't eligible to get a ticket on his/her own, you shouldn't be giving that person a ticket. He/she has a week to find out what's wrong and get it fixed.4) There is a server on campus now, but evidently it's housed in the Palisades I building, which is where the power outage was that caused last week's fiasco.5) People are watching the situation, but here's the simple, honest, short truth. A contact was signed that extended until the end of the year. Full on-side tech support was only available for the first two football games, afterwhich isn't a bit harder to get full support. Money was spent, so until this cycle runs out they're not looking for a new company. This company's track record is much better at every other school---and you don't have to believe me, but I sat in the room as we called every school to get multiple opinions on the system at those schools, and this system is identical to those. Maryland for example has the same demand and same number of tickets that we do--only off by 500 or so tickets any given game (football or basketball). Their system works, our's doesn't.I actually am asking for a dedicated support personnel for student tickets, so students will have a hotline number and email to contact any given day, 24/7. I'll keep you posted on how I find funding for that position.Anyway, back to work
