construction of the greatest poker table raleigh has ever known is underway.

wood for the base has been cut and im in the process of sanding all the edges.

the questions now are,

raised hand rails, or table level pads?

there ahve been requests for hole cams. yay or nay? english style, plexiglass slides on the felt.

Had probably the easiest win ever in a sit-n-go last night. Tripled up on the 1st hand, and caught so many decent hands along the way that I was able to bully the table mercilessly, almost never having to show down a hand either. The not showing a hand part was why I didn't try raising more hands that I already was...

The last three players had LESS then the original stack of 800. They were waiting for someone to finally get knocked out and make the money. It was sad. The even sadder thing was the 2nd place dude managed to double up twice on me and nearly win the thing....

First hand (blinds 10/15), UTG +1 raises to 30. One caller, and it gets to me on the button with QQ. I raise to 125, trying to isolate/sandwich the other two. One of the blinds doesn't cooperate, calling the 125. The original bettor goes all-in, the 1st caller folds. Back to me....

What do you do here? The all-in man likely didnt have AA or KK, even though I'd seen fish just double the BB in other games in order to create a huge pot for their monsters. It makes no sense yes, but I've seen fish double the BB with AA and KK so many times its become the calling card of bad players. However, when you raise their initial tiny bet, they always just raise the minimum amount AGAIN. This guy went all-in, so I figured he instead was representing a marginal raising hand.

The second guy likely didn't have AA or KK either, it would have been an easy reraise even for a fish. He probably wanted in to our huge pot and didn't have the cards to go heads up. I went all-in without much thought.

UTG+1 has KJ offsuit, small blind has A3.... also offsuit. My Queens hold up, 48.1% chance to do so. Quite fortunate, but with 125 chips invested, I'll take a coinflip to take 3/8 of the chips on the table on the 1st hand.

I'm going to make it short.

My friend had been dealt AA while one of our female RAs got 22 on the deal. My friend went almost all in between betting on the flop and the turn. When the river card came in, he still thought he could win. Too bad a 2 was on the table. All he had was his pair of aces, and he lost on a 3 of a kind of 2s.

We never let him forget b/c it was one of the funniest things I've seen. BTW, I took the rest of his money on the next hand.

What limits? If they're big enough, I might play. Gonna go catch "Broken Flowers" first.

Of course, I understand that some of the Raleigh poker group is blacklisted from NCSU games.

There was a really nasty hand last night.

My brother and I have pocket Qs and another player has pocket Aces.........

I was happy the pocket Aces had the short stack.

Do any of you play limit?

I need some limit strategy. I found a decent game, but I KNOW the guys are retards.... will call down with anything. So no matter what hand I get, I know I'll have callers.... but way too many. I don't want 5 callers when I'm holding KK, because I am not even close to the statistical favorite anymore. Somebody will play some bullshit like Q4 and hit two pair on the flop.... or even worse, just catch the 4 on the flop and river the queen. I know I am a better player, but I guess I need some advice on limit games.

Thanks.

Just play it like you would play stud. You'll know when they have you beat and when they're chasing.

You're the better player. You have the advantage.

PS

my birthday is next week, and ive decided that in lieu of a birthday party... im gonna have a cash poker game

not sure where yet, depends on the amount of tables its gonna need and shit.

anyone thats interested should PM me

gonna be no limit texas hold em, fairly cheap buy in of 10 or so (unless everyone demands higher). tournament style, play until only one remains. not sure about blind structure and all that...

and the top few are gonna get paid. that also depends on how many start. but when we play 9 player games, we do it 55/30/15 for the top 3. or something like that

got interest from a few of my freinds, figured i'd run it by some of you since youre all poker gods and shit

PM me if youre interested

i just finsihed the most ridiculous run of hands ive ever seen.

6 handed plo sng before class...

very first hand, limp from the sb with Kd9s6s3s..

flop comes 8d5s7h.

i bet the pot, another reraises the pot, another does the same, i go all in, with two callers.

2s3d4h6h and 5c5dQcTs

turn river: 7s, 8s for the straight flush.

so right off the bat, its 4 handed, and im sitting with a 2000 chip lead with 5/10 blinds. nice.

bully around for a while, flop quad 6's vs a flopped FH with top set. bye bye.

gets three handed, ive seen 93% of the flops, and have won over 70% of the hands.

stacks are 5k, 400, 600.

it didnt take long from here.

in the course of the 17 minutes the sng took, i flopped top set 7 times. (aces or kings all 7 times) quads once, and the wild nut straight turned into a straight flush first hand.

but what sucks is

it was only a $5 buy in.

yeah I like Full Tilt. Their players are average, but their software is really nice and fast. In a 9person sng, you get about 3 retards, 4 below-average to average players then 2 good players who should make the money.

I just saw my second ever live royal flush last night. Hitting it actually hurt the guy though. There was a maniac at the table, raising with everything. Anyways, he makes it 200 with 20/40 blinds, and my friend calls with KQ of diamonds. The flop is J53 with 2 diamonds. The guy bets like 100, and my friend calls. The next card is the A of diamonds, giving my friend the nuts. The manaiac bets out 500, and my friend just calls it. Anyways, the river is the 10 of diamonds. Maniac checks, friend bets the pot, maniac folds (showing A2 offsuit) complaining how someone stayed around and caught.

Anyway, it was a really neat hand to watch, cause I had peeked at his cards. I'm sure the other guy woulda called an all-in on the turn, so my pal shouldn't have slow played. Oh well though.

Ok, this sucks fucking ass. I was big blind with 6,7 off suit. I checked flop comes 4, 5, 8. I have the nut straight at that point and it was rainbow. Guy to my left bets 10. Guy to my right raises 20, I raise to 40. Guy to my left folds. Guy to my right goes all in I call.

I'm favored 97 - 3. I call he fucking hit a runner runner full house getting two queens on turn and river.

Un fucking believable.

I can't play poker for like two weeks after tonight.
