Quote :
"RANDLE NEWS

Julius on returning to the court: "It feels good to finally be back,I'm healthy and back on the floor with my team. Knowing I have the ability to finish out the season with my team is great. It's really good. I was a little rusty. I'm just working myself back into a rhythm and getting used to playing again. As far as my conditioning goes, I felt good."

Kansas visit: "It was great," Randle said of his Kansas visit. "I've always known a lot about Kansas. It was like my fourth time up there, but I feel like I know a lot more now. I really got to see everything that goes into the program," Randle said. "Like when they get a big-time player, everything that goes into developing that player on the court, in the weight room, it's top notch for real."

How Self feels Randle fits: "He thinks that I fit their system as far as players they've had in the past," Randle said. "The spots he put them in at around 15 feet or catching in the post or isolated on the side, he thinks I can excel in all those areas. He feels what I can do differently than any other player that he has had is get the ball off the glass and bring it up. If I don't get the rebound, he feels I should be the first person up the floor and get to my sweet spot. As long as I defend and rebound, he'll let me play with as much freedom as I want."

Whats Next: Randle will meet with those closest to him -- his mother, Carolyn, and mentor/coach, Jeff Webster -- to decide what the next step will be so that he can move toward ending his recruitment within the next month. "I'll probably talk to Jeff tomorrow and will probably go to his house, and then my mom will be over there," Randle said. "We'll talk about things and look to make a date for a decision. I think between now and the middle of March, when my season and spring break is over, I'll want to get it done. I can't say that I'm sad I've had my last visit; I'm ready to get this done."

Final Notes: "I think I've got pretty good information in terms of what I'm looking for," Randle said. "I know the pros and cons of every school, and I think they've all done a good job of selling themselves to me. Now I have to look at where I'll have the most fun, where I'll be happiest.

"I know that if I'm happy I'll play my best. Even if I'm struggling, being happy makes it easier to get through any adversity.""

He will be happiest here. We would go completely insane over him, where schools like KU have fans that "expect" his caliber talent.

at Kentucky he'll be the 3rd or 4th biggest freshman coming in. He will be THE man if he comes here

I dunno, I bet he ends up at Texas so he can stay close to his family

If he doesnt care about going to a winning program he will goto Texas as they are pretty bad at the moment and would be a pretty big recruit. If he just wants to win he will end up at KU or Kentucky. If he wants a mixture and a place he will be happy and be able to be with friends we will win out.

Yeah, other than winning more games, we've put ourselves in the absolute best position to possibly land Randle. I really won't feel too bad if he snubs us. Unless its to Kentucky. Fuck that noise.

And we're losing 4 starters (probably), and the new Scout rankings already have our 2013 class at #11

I think we'll be ok without the #52 PG with Lewis and Barber here next year.

Also there's an ESPN insider article on Randle saying he's ready to announce soon. Can anybody post?

Randle told Telep he's down to 3, but didn't name 'em. Says he'll announce in a few weeks.

My guess is Texas, Kansas and us.

When you have multiple open scholarships, adding depth and guys that will be around for four years is often a good thing.

[Edited on February 21, 2013 at 5:12 PM. Reason : and according to espn, he's a good 3 point shooter]

i agree with texas and us. Not sure about florida/ku/uk though.

I guess out of all those I might actually want to be up against UK the most... Kansas and Florida scare me.

yeah, have to agree w/ that, sadly. and this certainly is something for gottfriend to be desperate over.

hopefully he flew out w/ a suitcase full of cash.

I dont follow recruiting too closely, but that doesn't sound that desperate to me. Could just as easily be to re-affirm our commitment to him.

Just based on how many teams are left and how strong the competition is I wouldn't say we're better than 50-50 to land him, but I'd be willing to wager NC State vs any ONE other school someone wanted to bet.

you guys do know that the other teams had in-homes with Randle after he visited us as well right? Its called damage control...you want him to switch his focus back to your school as soon as humanly possible. Give him something NC State to think about after his Kansas influx. Theres no need to read into every little move as desperation or finding out if we're out of it or not. They want this guy, so they're going out to tell him how much they want him. I'd be more worried if we DIDN'T go see him...because that would be bad recruiting.
