So we're just going to pretend extrajudicial detention, black sites, and killings are not already a thing?
9/19/2016 8:25:58 PM
holy loaded question, batman.
9/19/2016 8:44:14 PM
Earl would do anything to give Trump a pass and say they are all the same.Wonder if Trump is worried about Wifi exposure?

I have thought of that exact episode of The Simpsons in regards to Trump before.Great Simpsons episode, love when the doc tries to draw blood but the needle goes through Burns' arm, and he says "Try the left arm, I think I saw some blood in there the other day"

First episode of Simpsons I ever saw, the one that got me watching all the others, and still my favorite. Well played, internet.

My god, imagine this man giving a speech at the UN like Obama is doing now. I mean, holy shit what a disaster.
9/20/2016 11:12:25 AM
We'll either get laughed at in a Kim Jong Un kinda way, or they'll worry about what we'll do on a world scale, in a Kim Jong Un kinda way.
9/20/2016 11:19:27 AM
Amazing speech. Too bad he didn't govern by it for 8 years. Theres clearly two obamas. Speech Obama inspires the world and gives everyone hope for the future.
9/20/2016 11:22:57 AM
And the real Obama who tries to shame black people into voting for Hillary.
9/20/2016 11:25:23 AM
shame or attempt to keep a key voting demographic from getting complacent/keeping them politically active?and after 8 years, one would think you'd shy away from the "real Obama" tag[Edited on September 20, 2016 at 11:40 AM. Reason : kind of a loaded term, in all the wrong ways]
9/20/2016 11:39:41 AM
I didn't mean to imply that there is a hidden vs real Obama - he is what he is. I was just responding to the previous comment regarding "the Obama that showed up at the UN."But do you not find it shameful to essentially say "Black people, vote for Hillary because I like her, and I'm black."
9/20/2016 11:58:18 AM
Not sure why it's in then thread but I seriously believe Obama believes what he says and wanted things to be very different but got beaten down into playing the game.Turns out the game is just more of the same Bush and Clinton before him in a lot of areas.^ that's an interesting interpretation of his words. He would have every right to say "vote for her because the other guy has a proven track record of giving even less of a fuck about you than she does."[Edited on September 20, 2016 at 12:05 PM. Reason : X]
9/20/2016 12:04:10 PM
That's what I'm saying - implore people to vote for her on her record. Not his skin color. But he's using it. Just like he used it in his own election.
9/20/2016 12:09:30 PM
9/20/2016 12:10:15 PM
I believe voter turnout for Hillary will be lower in general. For Obama, everyone voting for him felt like they were voting for a part of history. That impact won't be quite as large here. Yes, she's a female, and would be the first female president, but I guarantee you that in the minds of many, that won't carry as much weight. So if overall voter turnout by Democrats is lower, I don't think it will validate people's claims that Obama won because he's black.
9/20/2016 12:15:25 PM
way to assume that everyone voting for a candidate only did so because they wanted to pat themselves on the backthat why he won a second term?and the people who think he only won because of black people don't give a fuck about overall voter turnout
9/20/2016 12:18:09 PM
Obama won because Oprah backed him. You can dive further into her specific reasoning, but in the end, I say he wouldn't have beaten Hillary in the 2008 Democratic Primary without that endorsement.
9/20/2016 4:16:03 PM
Lol at the pictures from the Trump/Hannity town hall on African American issues. Audience is like 95% white.
9/21/2016 1:15:00 PM
I saw some pics. i think 2-3% of your 5% are just really tan white folk

this is why trump supporters are voting trump:
9/22/2016 2:32:26 AM
Yeah, no one is reading that
9/22/2016 10:36:34 AM
I tried to read it, basically says all the things most people say about Hillary that are bad, in a huge wall of text. Again we all realize Clinton is pretty unfavorable across the country but still a better option than Trump unfortunately. At some point we as Americans are gonna have to look back on this election and ask ourselves how we got to the point that these were our two choices and hope we never make that mistake again.
9/22/2016 11:10:27 AM
9/22/2016 11:24:26 AM
All you really have to do is look at how Hillary is underperforming Obama in places with a higher percentage of non-college educated whites, and overperforming him where there is a lower percentage. The former is the reason why places like OH, IA, NV, and ME-2 are closer than you'd expect or even leaning Trump. The latter is why PA, NH, VA, and CO appear totally out of reach for Trump.
9/22/2016 11:30:25 AM
NC would be solid blue in this election if it was 2020.Read an interesting fact that with 3.2mm rural residents in NC it is only behind Texas. However, with most of the influx going to the more diverse and educated urban areas in the state, this is likely the last time the GOP is competitive in a national election here (without a really shit D candidate or a major shift in attitude from the GOP itself).
9/22/2016 11:57:07 AM
A post I made in chit chat regarding Trump and fascism, tweaked slightly.[quote]Trump's supporters believe there is an economy in the dumpster, everybody, mostly working-class citizens pissed off and angry, then out of the blue comes some guy who can really get to the working people of the world. But here's the big difference between Hitler and Trump. Things were actually going pretty well in Germany (disclaimer: things were NOT going well in Germany for Jews - I'm talking about the country overall). Their economy was picking up, jobs were being created, and peoples lives were getting better (again, except for Jews). Had Hitler decided to not become a murderous real-life super villain, he may have actually gone down in the history books as a political leader who turned things around. But instead he turned out to be a super-villain. Please don't take my post as support for Hitler, as it is certainly not. Just pointing out that Trump may actually be worse than pre-WWII Hitler. If Trump were elected, I don't see anything changing for the better in this country. We still get the fascism, without the better economy.
9/22/2016 12:39:25 PM
I like how you reduced the holocaust to mere parentheticals in your argument. You know who else thought the Jews weren't important?
9/22/2016 2:11:30 PM
Man, did you even read my post? I'm talking about pre-war Germany. And in pre-war Germany, things were bad for Jews, but it had not reached Holocaust levels. So don't just see who made a post (rjrumfel) and try to blast it because you don't like the poster. I'm not reducing anything there, other than reducing Trump to be a fascist. Why in God's name would anyone purposefully reduce the death of millions into a set of parenthesis. I can't begin to comprehend what would make you think something like that. Prejudice? That's the only thing I can come up with.
9/22/2016 2:16:17 PM
Oh PRE ww2 Germany. In that case yeah the Jews had it bad but man Hitler had that economy roaring. Trump can't hold a candle to that guy.[Edited on September 22, 2016 at 2:36 PM. Reason : I mean pre war hitler not hitler hitler]
9/22/2016 2:34:37 PM
So republicans say Hillary is against the Second AmendmentBut Trump literally wants to take people's guns away.Is there any Amendment that IS safe from The Donald?
9/22/2016 5:53:55 PM
damn he is dumb as fuck
9/22/2016 6:27:10 PM
Holy crap.. he mentions guns and taking guns so many times in that statement if I was clintons team I would just buy all the air time possible in Georgia and north Carolina and just play that comment on loops.. no commentary no voice over. And at the end have the smallest quietest sponsors statement.
9/22/2016 8:08:54 PM
That's the beauty of dog whistle, his supporters know he isn't talking about their guns.
9/22/2016 8:18:32 PM
yeah it's like you didn't read any of that. he's clearly talking about black guns.
9/22/2016 8:59:02 PM
you could always edit out the implied racism / dog whistle parts of it...

the candidates are a reflection of the people. they don't really care what happens as long as the other side loses. no one actually likes either of these candidates theyjust don't know enough to realize there are more options. they don't understand how the system works or what the candidates policies are. 70% don't even know more candidates exist
9/24/2016 11:45:41 AM
^^I'm just shocked the liberals couldn't find someone better. Sanders and Clinton represent status quo career politicians. I think part of Obama's appeal to voters was that he wasn't someone like Ted Kennedy who lived on capitol hill for most of his life.
9/24/2016 6:27:55 PM
Ted Kennedy is the person singularly responsible for Obama's presidential campaign.
