hate lori more and more...

lori is weaksauce.

The "everyone is infected" thing is a big deal because it effectively changes the typical afterlife idea or the whole concept of death being restful. Not everyone is basically already dead. You will always have to blow the brains out of deceased loved ones. It is only a minor detail in theory but it is heavy. Also it means that it has been spread by the air so you can't just move to Alaska and avoid getting bitten and therefore avoid all zombies forever. Also yes the prison should theoretically be home base for a while.
3/18/2012 10:30:53 PM
Yeah, quality Lori.... Rick-kill-Shane and then I-can't-believe-you-fucking-killed Shane. And Michonne's a friggin' badass.
3/18/2012 10:35:49 PM
how do you pronounce Michonne?is it Mish-own?Mish-onee?Meesh-own?Mitch-un?Mitch-own?
3/18/2012 10:40:20 PM
Wiki says "ME-SHAWN"

I think Robert Kirkman pronounced it "Mish-own" (walking dead creator) on Talking Dead. But he didn't seem to care when Chris Hardwick pronounced differently. Guess they'll clear it up next season when she introduces herself formally. [Edited on March 18, 2012 at 11:03 PM. Reason : ``]
3/18/2012 11:02:29 PM
It's not necessarily spread by air.
3/18/2012 11:04:20 PM
What was the special announcement on the talking dead? I watched the show but don't remember any announcement...
3/18/2012 11:11:09 PM
other than Lori being a stupid bitch, why did she react the way she did to Rick telling her he killed Shane? did she really not expect him to do it after she basically told him a few episodes ago to do it? i was puzzled by that.^ the actress playing the character of Michonne was the "big reveal". dont even know who the chick was, some black chick. http://blogs.amctv.com/the-walking-dead/2012/03/danai-gurira-cast-as-michonne.php[Edited on March 18, 2012 at 11:18 PM. Why did that crazy ninja girl have two zombies chained to her? I get that their arms were cut off and maybe their jaws, so they could not attack her, but still ... what purpose?
3/18/2012 11:26:38 PM
I'm thinking probably to cover her scent with ode de zombie. And yeah, Lori's reaction was ridiculous.[Edited on March 18, 2012 at 11:33 PM. Reason : Lori]
3/18/2012 11:32:31 PM
are we supposed to understand that the zombies saw the helicopter from the first season and the majority of the zombies from atlanta headed close to the farm that way on their own or was the helicopter purposely leading them in one direction?it should go without saying but don't post if you KNOW the answer more than yes or no
3/18/2012 11:36:26 PM
The women on this show are intolerable. Fuck Lori and now Rick has lost his shit too. His end monologue sounded awful Shane like. I don't understand how Kirkman can be an EP on the show and proceed to give the green light to these asshat writers who are ruining his comic.
3/18/2012 11:39:31 PM
^^ the way the multiple groups came together in that one field made me think they were being herded together purposely. Otherwise, what are the chances that separate large groups of them come together... AND within earshot of that gun shot? BUT, i'm not so confident the writers considered it that much.

I think Lori was really reacting to Rick 'corrupting' Carl because he had to put Shane down. Still, Lori is an idiot.
3/18/2012 11:56:08 PM
Personally, I think the writing on this show is pretty great. I think Lori's motivations are pretty clear. She didn't hate Shane. She obviously had feelings for him and those feelings led her to reconcile with him the day before he died. So that alone would make her upset at his death. But add on top of that the fact that played a role in Shane's death because helped set Rick against Shane in the first place (she said as much in the last episode). I think knowing that your friend's blood was on your hands would make you **more** upset about his death, not less (just ask Rick). And that ain't even mentioning her reaction to Carl's part in Shane's death.I can see why ppl might not like Lori as a person (she is typically rash and emotional just like in that scene), but I think her character is pretty well developed and consistently written. Just my opinion.[Edited on March 19, 2012 at 12:15 AM. Reason : ``]

I guess its not a huge deal but I was kinda annoyed at how they basically had no escape plan in place. They basically just haphazerdly fled with no idea what to do or where to go/meet up.Also, wasting so much ammo shooting a handfull of walkers when there are hundreds iss barely going too make a dent. Id save it for when I really needed it.Did anyone else lol at how many shots Herschel was firing with that? He had to fire over 40...im going to count tomorrow....and at one point I think he shot around 15 without reloading.
3/19/2012 3:41:14 AM
Having read the comics, I was more excited about the kitana-wielding character cameo than anything else that happened. I, too, was confused about Lori's reaction to Rick's words. She really doesn't seem to know what she wants.
3/19/2012 7:20:22 AM
3/19/2012 7:50:14 AM
I think what's more likely is Lori realizing that she was the one who set Shane off and she feels terribly guilty for it, and blames Rick in her typical fucked-up logic.
3/19/2012 8:02:00 AM
^Hell, our family had a "If the house catches fire and you have to flee, meet here" plan since kindergarten. Furthermore, wasn't she one of the ones that agreed with the need to dispose of Randall? She supported Rick in sparing him, but she didn't think he was right. Shane was a direct threat to Rick and the group and yet she's ok with him? Didn't she run to town (and flip a car in the process) because she was worried about being left on the farm with Shane?[Edited on March 19, 2012 at 8:03 AM. Reason : .]

i'm surprised Michonne made the transition from the comic to the series, i'd have thought for sure they would have replaced her given all the other changes they've made

I think the Lady MacBeth connection was intentional.
3/19/2012 8:42:31 AM
the previous 3-4 episodes have been great, but the finale was pretty awful.
3/19/2012 9:27:33 AM
I, too, lolled at how many shots Hershel had without reloading. He must have entered an infinite ammo cheat or something. Quality action in this episode though. The zombie infection may not necessarily be airborn. It could easily just be something in the water or physical contact with a zombie or some kind of exchange of fluids. Just about everyone who has survived this long has probably gotten zombie blood on them before... Shane cut his hand open when the knife already had zombie blood all over it.
3/19/2012 9:44:11 AM
If I were them I think I'd go to one of the big lakes in Georgia and commandeer a big swanky houseboat, anchor out and chill for awhile. Natural zombieproof border, endless freshwater supply, fish to catch and wildlife to hunt. Easy electricity generation, lots of jetskis and boats for runabouts and for fuel, plenty of lakehouses to scavenge with minimal exposure. But of course that would make for a pretty shitty story
3/19/2012 9:52:01 AM
Shane tried to rape me and wants to take your children....WHY DID YOU KILL SHANE I HATE YOU!I also want Hershel's magic shotgun.Andrea went from totally fucked with a thousand zombies chasing her to only 3 chasing her in the woods in the span of a commerical break. I love how they spent so much dialog talking about how hopeless the farm was when you can just waltz out of there on foot.I did really like Rick telling everyone to STFU though.

^ I believe casting has already happened. Just interested to see how the story line gets started. I have a feeling they will chop some major plot points out. If you catch my drift.
3/19/2012 10:17:37 AM
i dunno, i think there will be major things that they dont chop off, i mean outyou know
3/19/2012 10:18:37 AM
haha
3/19/2012 10:21:16 AM
they should raid an outlet mall, lots of supplieslike this one:

or Free Market Montgomery. It's just like, it's just like, it's just like a mini. Mall.

I don't see how anybody could say this show has good writing. I guess the writers have been put in a hard position, because if the main characters weren't complete idiots, the show would be boring, but I am getting sick and tired of watching everyone make dumb decisions left and right with absolutely no regard to common sense or actually wanting to stay safe. Case in point, when Rick's truck runs out of gas, he says they've been running on empty for the last hour. How fucking retarded do you have to be to run out of gas? This goes for basically any time, but is 1,000 times more important when you are in the middle of a zombie apocalypse. How many gas stations did they pass in that hour? How many abandoned or parked cars did they pass? Unless your goal was to run out of gas in the worst possible location, I don't see how it was possible to run out of gas, especially when he made it a point to mention that he had been monitoring the gauges for an hour. And then, there's the sleeping situation. Off the top of my head, I can think of about a hundred reasons why they would be better sleeping ANYWHERE besides outside. Find a house, any house and you're infinitely better off. Even if it is an old abandoned house. But why stop an an abandoned house? Why not a brand new house? They had to have passed, oh I dunno, several hundred or so in the time they were traveling. With low gas. But no, lets just keep riding around on fumes until we get into the middle of nowhere and run out of gas. Then we have no choice but to sleep in the middle of nowhere. Oh wait, no we could all take turns riding in the one car we have until we can get down the road a mile or two and actually find SHELTER. Then you're in out of the cold. You've got beds, and couches, and blankets and pillows and probably supplies. And a roof over your head and a barrier for sound, smell, and sight from the zombies. And at the very least one extra layer of protection between you and the thousands of things that want to eat you. But no, lets sleep outside. Great writing indeed.
