True, but notice that Widmore's people did not start shooting until the exact moment that Jack pushed the MiB into the water, and it took the MiB a while to get out of the water. Maybe it's just that they wanted to shoot while the MiB was taken off guard, but I think there's some significance to the water and MiB.And, if I recall correctly, there was an exchange between Sawyer and the MiB earlier this season in which Sawyer asked him why he didn't just turn into smoke and fly over to the other island, and he replied with something along the lines of "Don't you think that if I COULD do that, I would?," implying that he can't fly over bodies of water. Just a thought.I think the mirrors in the alt-timeline will serve some purpose in helping one of the Losties in finding their "constant." In other words, I think one of them is probably so narcissistic (probably Jack) that they are their own constant. May be a stretch, but I think the mirrors will serve some purpose in getting them to "switch" back to the reality that we know. Either way, I think the alt-Losties are headed to the island existence. Des is gonna fuck some more people up just to get them in the hospital together (all in one, confined place? Uh-oh).Also, I would not be surprised at all if the outrigger shooting is simply one of the gaping, tantalizing holes in the plot that remains uncovered. I think that probably a majority of casual fans have forgotten about this scene, even with all the cliffhanging importance that was placed on it when it happened. I don't think they're teasing us with all the boats/canoes; they've always used canoes and rafts and boats a lot on this show. I HOPE they answer the question, I'm just saying I wouldn't be surprised I'd they don't answer it, leaving us to assume it was someone we didn't know that Juliet shot, or a really, really minor character (like one of the people who bailed on the MiB after the mortar attack or something). Hate to play the cynic, just saying.

Got to agree with that last paragraph. I had completely forgotten about it as well as many people on here probably. I don't see that becoming a storyline.

i don't think water harms MiB, but i think it keeps him from being able to turn into smoke.
5/6/2010 1:16:18 PM
Few questions to throw out--assuming those were Widmore's people that started shooting at everyone, were they actually shooting at the Losties or just shooting at the MiB? Why were they shooting at them? Were they just trying to prevent the MiB from getting on the submarine? That would prove that Widmore doesn't actually know that the MiB needs the Losties to kill each other before he can escape, rather than needing them to accompany him to leave the island, right?[Edited on May 6, 2010 at 2:07 PM. this has been discussed before, but it pisses me off enough that i want to re-hash it. All the stupid ass secrecy is annoying. Widmore could've been like, "hey, fake Locke can't kill y'all, so i want to keep you safe till I take his ass down, so chill in this Dharma break room for awhile cuz i don't want y'all to die." Instead he locks their asses in a prison cell and then cryptically tells them it's for their own good. It's garbage, and now Jin is dead that that sucks.

and according to wikipedia
5/7/2010 12:32:03 PM
Nowhere on LOST's Wikipedia page does it mention the show being a horror. I know this without even looking.
5/7/2010 12:36:27 PM
RIP lapidus. He deserved a much more epic death. Killed by a submarine door... nevar forget
5/7/2010 2:42:28 PM
how long, would it take, in hours to watch every single episode over again excluding the gay recap episodes?
5/7/2010 2:46:29 PM
Wikipedia tells me there are 121 episodes, running time is 43 minutesSo nearly 87 hoursPlus the remaining episodes
5/7/2010 2:50:16 PM
well, I have around 3 and a half weeks of vacation days saved up plus another month of sick days..HMMMMMI could probably save a couple of days skipping the kate-centric episodes
5/7/2010 2:54:26 PM
you can skip that filler episode when those people get burried alive
5/7/2010 2:56:03 PM
I re-watched the first four seasons between seasons four and fiveThe only episode skipped was the Nikki and Paoulauaau one
5/7/2010 2:57:29 PM
You can skip the episode about Jack's tattoos.

^ i don't they've never just killed someone off that way and then never addressed it. yeah he got hit by the door, but you really can't assume he's dead. the writers are better than that.
5/9/2010 1:23:51 PM
PS - I had forgotten about Jack's tattoos. I guess we'll never find out about them.
5/9/2010 1:30:18 PM
^ i thought they showed how he got them in season 3
5/9/2010 3:45:51 PM
IIRC they translate into he walks among us but is not one of us. That has made me believe jack was a candidate since the discussion of that role this season.
5/9/2010 5:36:21 PM
From L&GF:
5/9/2010 6:25:25 PM
ilana said in the season 5 finale that frank was a candidate, so i think he has to serve some purpose before this whole thing is over.
5/9/2010 6:44:36 PM
From the same post
5/9/2010 6:46:24 PM
yeah, it was bram who asked if he was a candidate. she never said he was.I'm pretty sure the tattoos and anything about them are just BS and filler. The tattoos are matthew fox's real tattoos. They had the option of having to cover them up/avoid showing them or making them Jack Shepard's tattoos. They went with the latter. The meaning they gave on lost is not what they actually mean.
5/9/2010 7:11:52 PM
yeah just went back and rewatched that scene where bram asks ilana if lapidus is a candidate. still, her response leads me to believe lapidus is around for some specific reason, and i fully expect to see him crawl out of the ocean soon.
5/9/2010 7:14:28 PM
A little more info on Jack's tattoos. Pretty sure they were just filler. The show said they translate as "He walks amongst us, but he is not one of us." Pretty cool that they hinted at fake Locke as far back as season 3. Literal translation (Sorry the Chinese characters won't show up):
5/10/2010 10:07:25 AM
or maybe they were hinting at how jack is with the candidates right now but he isn't one and claire is. I don't think MiB has ever walked with anyone. He seems to have a pattern of deceiving one person, taking their body and then trying to convince everyone.
