Fantastic transition pieces. Someone mixed the first 7 Black Hole tracks together (Blast Off!, Who You Callin' Bitch?, Oh Jonas, Please Remember, Come to My Pod, Oh No This is Not For Me, and Tired of Sex) and it rocks: http://www.sendspace.com/file/oc29qkDon't Worry Baby cover is SO good. Pitchfork headline of the week:Smashing Pumpkins' Anniversary Tour is a Shitshowhttp://www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/news/147620-smashing-pumpkins-anniversary-tour-is-a-shitshow
11/20/2008 6:03:49 PM
we get it, pitchfork. we know you don't like them.
11/20/2008 6:07:08 PM
Did you even read it? People are walking out because of the kind of lameass jam bullshit that they pulled a number of nights in Asheville and he's calling them names for it.A guy in a silver dress.Calling people names. For not liking sprawling, pointless, noisy prog at a pop band's show. There's a gigantic disconnect between Billy Corgan '08 and Billy Corgan '00, let alone Billy Corgan '93.
11/20/2008 6:24:06 PM
yeah, i read it. and it's not like i don't agree; i didn't enjoy the asheville show last summer. but they have been repeatedly slamming corgan and it's getting a little bit annoying.
11/20/2008 7:04:01 PM
As a Chicago-based publication that wasn't around during the days of the great Chicago/Corgan war, they probably feel they have some catching up to do.
11/20/2008 7:17:28 PM
There's a gigantic disconnect between Billy Corgan '08 and Billy Corgan '00, let alone Billy Corgan '93 and reality. And the setlists for these shows are just awful. But Pitchfork still goes way out of their way to slam people they don't like and slob off people they do like. I'm planning to stop reading for awhile once the Merriweather Post Pavilion circle-jerk reaches a fever pitch.

11/23/2008 12:06:23 AM
^ no, it isn'tand thats coming from a fan of theirs since '03 (if not before, my memory is a bit drunk tonight)they peaked at full collapse [Edited on November 23, 2008 at 12:15 AM. Reason : thats right, i admitted it]
11/23/2008 12:13:57 AM
what kinda music genre is kevin rudolf? he made a song with lil wayne and i like it
11/23/2008 12:17:10 AM
my god is Merriweather Post Pavilion ever going to come out or whatit seems like there's been a dearth of good music lately
11/23/2008 12:22:56 AM
^agreedthis year has been less than stellar music wise
11/23/2008 12:34:30 AM
i think a lot of good stuff has come out this year, but at least in the past month or so the only "new" thing i've listened to is Microcastle..although i have wanted to listen to that marnie stern album, but i never got my hands on it
11/23/2008 12:42:37 AM
11/23/2008 1:36:18 AM
2008 has definitely been a mediocre year for music imo.. i have a few albums that i really liked but nothing has stood out.. it would be really hard for me to name my favorite album of the year
11/23/2008 4:35:41 AM
i think the only new things i've gotten this year are lil wayne, frayser boy, chrome, three 6, and young jeezyfrayser boy/chrome are both like 2/10, lil wayne i'd give 6.5/10, young jeezy i'd give 7/10, three 6 i'd give 5.5/10
11/23/2008 4:39:37 AM
it's pretty much cloud cult, she & him, and microcastle for meand none of those are really knockouts
11/23/2008 8:38:42 AM
Department of Eagles and Marnie Stern are better than all of those.SO THERE.
11/23/2008 10:13:29 AM
True.
11/23/2008 10:37:27 AM
has anyone on here mentioned Passion Pit yet? their EP is kind of annoying, but i dig ithttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aGbbgT9E50k[Edited on November 23, 2008 at 12:18 PM. Reason : better quality link]
11/23/2008 12:14:50 PM
Fleet Foxes, EP and LPCloud CultShe & HimMGMT (digital release in 07, physical release in 08)Bon Iver (similar MGMT... think it came out in late 07, re-released for wider distribution)those were all highlights for me this year.... and, damnit, I know I'm leaving off some more.
11/23/2008 12:15:44 PM

11/23/2008 12:33:38 PM

There hasn't been anything this year that has really jumped out to me.
11/23/2008 12:36:39 PM
i tried to get into Department of Eagles, but it didn't grab me at all.
11/23/2008 12:55:34 PM

11/26/2008 4:20:49 AM

11/26/2008 10:52:53 AM
http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/news/147773-photos-rivers-cuomo-jam-session-long-beach-ca-11-25-08A bunch of people from the albumsix.com forums were able to get in and influence the tracklist enough to get Blast Off!, Across the Sea, Devotion, Getting Up and Leaving, Susanne, and Waiting on You played.Getting Up and Leaving has never been heard before in any fashion (Rivers solo or by Weezer) and is probably the most sought after unreleased track (from The Blue Album era). He did however post some sheet music to his MySpace a couple of years ago, so they brought that to the show to try and get him to play it. The result was elation followed by disappointment as he crushed everyone's hopes when he got to the chorus: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7TC9x47o_7E
11/26/2008 2:42:30 PM
yeah, after i saw that story on pitchfork i had to do a youtube search for "getting up and leaving"... pretty cool either way.. plz to post any "waiting on you" (favorite weezer song ever) or "blast off" clips if they appear
11/26/2008 4:36:21 PM
