Speaking of free light bulbsI registered online with Duke Energy and filled out a five minute survey, they sent me 12 CFL bulbs

^ That is AWESOME...I just check boxes of what I want and it creates a list for me?Time to go to HT baby...are there any more sites like that? O is that pretty much every item you can get discounted?
4/28/2010 11:50:27 AM
Alright, I couldn't sleep last night so I got up and went this morning.I was totally unenthused, but I ended up having my best trip ever:2 Velveeta mac/cheese cups1 bag of Ortega tortillas1 box of Ortega taco shells1 jar of Ortega guacamole-style sauce3 Ortega seasoning packets1 giant canister of Chock Full O Nuts coffee2 boxes of Planters Nutrition bars1 box of Honey Bunches of Oats cereal2 mini tubs of Mentos gum1 bottle of Palmolive dish soap1 bottle of Tabasco sauce1 pack of 2000 Flushes1 tub of Land O Lakes butter w/ olive oilTotal: $54.79OOP: $9.9682 PERCENT SAVINGS!Coupons for everything are from the Sunday papers, except the Honey Bunches of Oats--I used a CAT for that. Everything tripled except the Velveeta coupon since it's for a dollar off--I just really wanted some mac/cheese cups in my life ASAP.I'ma get back to work with some IPs in a couple days, but for now, I'm very self-satsified.
4/28/2010 12:16:02 PM
Im annoyed because for the first time ever, the HT decided to check the expiration date on my coupons...no free tortillas for me!
4/28/2010 4:18:03 PM
http://print.coupons.com/Couponweb/Offers.aspx?nid=10&pid=13223&zid=he00&cid=15112187The first coupon on there should be for $.75 off any Mission product. Use that to get free tortillas at HT triples.
4/28/2010 7:01:16 PM
I just got back from Sue Stock's couponing class.Any other TWWers there?
5/1/2010 1:19:12 PM
Nah, what did you learn?!?!?!I was curious but not enough to go by myself (my moms is out of town). Is it worth signing up for the next one?
5/1/2010 3:39:40 PM
how much would i have to pay one of you to do the shopping for my family?
5/1/2010 4:12:43 PM
Most of it I already knew.I did find out that you can use Walgreen's Register Rewards at Harris Teeter and OYNO coupons from Lowes and Kroger at Harris Teeter. B/C Register Rewards and OYNO coupons are manufacturer's coupons.I went to HT yesterday and used a $3 OYNO coupon that I had from Lowes. Scanned perfectly
5/2/2010 11:04:39 AM
The few HT I visited this week were clean out.....I did find a great deal on black label bacon....They were 2 for 7 (regularly 5.30) and had save 3 dollars on them. Then I had 1 dollar off of bacon. So I got some free bacon! My total for the trip using 12 tripling coupons + 6 packaged of free bacon wasBefore Vic/ Coupons: $110.After Vic and coupons: $8.92They even let me use my 5 dollar off of 40 before other coupons. I did ask first instead of sneaking it in.[Edited on May 2, 2010 at 11:58 AM. Reason : ]

I'm a coupon noob. I just got back from HT and when I checked my receipt I noticed that my coupons were only doubled. They were all .50-.75 mc's. Am I doing something wrong?
5/2/2010 8:51:41 PM
5/2/2010 9:14:23 PM
^^If you went over 20 Q's in a day it would do that....perhaps they linked your card to another person who lives at the same address. Could be a number of reasons.
5/2/2010 9:19:41 PM
Coupons are face value if you go over your limit. You might want to check the original price of the items. They triple or go to the value of the product. So if you had a .50 coupon and you bought something that was $1. It would look like it doubled. Also, not all HT participate in triples. Sometimes it is area specific. So they would double like normal instead of tripling.
5/3/2010 10:58:26 PM
I definitely didn't go over the limit, and the 2nd scenario doesn't explain it either. And my HT does participate (Cary Harrison Ave.). I'm using my old roommates VIC card, but he doesn't live in an area with a HT. Maybe I'll just go sign up for my own tomorrow.[Edited on May 4, 2010 at 2:06 AM. Reason : thanks for the help]

I hate being in line behind a coupon clipper.
5/4/2010 10:54:25 AM
You know what I hate more than being patient? Paying full price. Hate on.
5/4/2010 5:18:18 PM
Request: Can I have everyone's danactive/activia/misc drinkable yogurt coupons?Tell me what you want in return
5/10/2010 7:40:38 PM
I need to get a few bottles of wine for a party...where should I go for the best prices? I've been trying to hunt through the Sunday paper but there's nothing great. Does HT always do that mix and match 6 pack wine discount?
5/10/2010 9:14:12 PM
Start a new thread and consult the few wine pros we have on here.[Edited on May 11, 2010 at 12:31 AM. Reason : ]

wtf? a coupon class??
5/11/2010 1:09:11 AM
im getting low on pantry items i need to stock up soon, whens the next triples?
5/11/2010 11:22:13 AM
They just had one at the end of April, I believe.
5/11/2010 11:25:56 AM
i know that im asking about the next one
5/11/2010 11:26:47 AM
I hope the next one is Super Doubles. I'm thinking maybe end of this month/start of June.
5/11/2010 11:51:30 AM
ughso I got my renewal bill from N&O yesterday. 52 weeks of Sunday only for $110. Ouch.Anybody got a code for N&O? The one I used last year doesn't work anymore (52 weeks for $52)
5/12/2010 10:01:28 AM
why on earth would they charge you more than $2 per paper when they sell the damn things in Walgreens for $1.50???
5/12/2010 10:02:53 AM
well the paper now costs $2 (plus tax) if you buy it in a store
5/12/2010 10:04:42 AM
Did that just go into effect? I bought 2 papers inside Walgreen's and paid $3 flat about a month ago.It was the week that $3 Snuggle coupon came out, so maybe it was like 6 weeks ago?The reason this sticks out in my mind is because I thought they'd already raised the cost of it, so when I noticed it was $1.50 and no tax I was kinda shocked.]
5/12/2010 10:05:35 AM
It's $1.50 at walgreens, $2 everywhere else.I got a couple weeks free with airline miles. said it was only for new customers, but I let my subscription run out for a week or two then ordered it.
5/12/2010 10:08:08 AM
hmmmDavid said he'd pay the $110 as an early birthday gift. And there's no Walgreens close to where I live. I just hate paying that much but I know how much I love waking up to the Sunday paper right outside my door.
5/12/2010 10:17:35 AM
I guess I'll look forward to a big bill when it's time to renew in July.
5/12/2010 10:18:56 AM
Harris Teeter Super Doubles starts May 19th!
5/12/2010 3:08:56 PM
5/12/2010 3:33:42 PM
I've never seen 'em for $1.50. However, sometimes they're $2 and other times they're $2+tax.Of course, the N&O charges a $1 for extra Sundays...so if you already have a subscription, I think it's acceptable to go up to a machine, pop in two bucks in change for a single paper and take two. I did it once when somebody stole my paper.I got my subscription as a (solicited) gift...don't know what I'm gonna do when it runs out.
5/12/2010 9:58:27 PM
Alright, I'ma be too busy with crap during HT's Super Doubles (W 5/19 - T 5/25) to get my coupon on. So I did some early planning in order to send my friend on without me. These are deals I found using Sunday paper coupons and current sales (which I checked in-store to make sure they would last through SD's). Of course, there are also IPs out there, plus two more Sunday papers coming, and a whole fresh round of sales debuting on 5/19. Anyway, here's what I found:Renuzit super odor air whatever: FREE ($1/1)French's honey mustard dipping sauce: FREE ($1/1)Vitamin Waters: FREE ($1/2)California Pizza Kitchen individual pizza: .50 ($1/1)Krunchers potato chips: .50 ($1/1)Lea and Perrins Worcestershire sauce: .50 ($1/1)Activia yogurt 4-pack: .50 ($1/1)Silk PureAlmond soy milk: .50 ($1.25/1)Tornados (frozen Tex-Mex concoctions): .89 ($1/1)I may do a second round of recon with the coming paper late this Sunday and update y'all then, too. Also, I'm gonna check out the Southern Savers site (thanks, jersey86)! But that'll be it for me unless I somehow find the time to hit it up on the concluding Tuesday...[Edited on May 14, 2010 at 10:08 PM. Reason : BTW, I only checked coupons valued over .99. No time to bother with regular doubles.]
5/14/2010 9:52:32 PM
The dollar store sells the Sunday paper so if you need an extra copy you can always head over there. Also, the Durham paper is cheaper.

On the tags, it will tell you if the sale will continue past a week. For example in the winter, my oatmeal was 2 for 5 for 90 days. It was in the circular 3 times as being "on sale".[Edited on May 14, 2010 at 10:06 PM. Reason : ]
5/14/2010 10:06:01 PM
ooh you're right, i have seen tags that say the sale goes longer than just a week. i didn't realize that many products were like that!
5/14/2010 10:06:44 PM
^^^Some sales last for multiple weeks or even months at a time.If you look on the little yellow sale tag, it will tell you how the long the sale will last.I just went to the store and walked around and checked all the little tags for sales that had enticing coupon match-ups. Enticing match-ups where sales end before Super Doubles included: Sure deodorant, Special K cereals BOGO, Starbucks coffee products, and Lysol wipes BOGO. [Edited on May 14, 2010 at 10:07 PM. I'm not sure how valuable my lists are because:1) My lists aren't exhaustive. These are just the coupons I happen to have ATM.2) I'm not sure what people's savings preferences are. I now aim for 66%+ regularly and 80%+ during an event. This means I often blow a coupon while a more experienced person would have waited.3) I'm not sure what people's brand preferences are. I no longer have any. I've never used Sure deodorant before, but I checked it out tonight, hoping to get it for free in a week or so. 4) I suspect the average person isn't clipping as aggressively as me...so most of my recommendations are useless since people don't have the coupons. The people who can post IPs for everybody to print out just before an event are crazy awesome!!!5) I'm not into IPs, which are possibly the best place for lucrative savings. I hate my printer and the cost of ink! However, I do put in some original leg work by thoroughly checking prices online at Lowes/HT and checking sale end dates. So far, my process has been more valuable to me than using impersonal databases and random recommendations. I have a ways to go though--there are some sophisticated deals where you can combine the CATs and the extra promotions (beyond mere sales/coupons)...this is where it becomes like an art to me...I don't know how they do it...Still, I think I'ma continue posting my lists here. This thread has been a nice place for me to share my hobby and develop my skills. I do use AFullCup, but I don't post there. I'm not really an internet forum person, just a TWW person. Oh yeah, Dole Fruit Crisp two-packs are gonna be .65...regularly $2.65...76% off...meh, I want them free! And the Silk PureAlmond milk and the Activia yogurt deals are based on regular prices so if, for some reason, they were to go on sale, then they would likely be free![Edited on May 14, 2010 at 11:05 PM. Reason : I have so much to share about my evolution, but I'll hold off.]

GREAT DEAL ON GILETTE BODY WASH!If you go to Walgreens this week, Gilette body wash costs 4.49 with a register reward that will print out for 4.59 good on your next order. You can pick up TWO body washes and use TWO coupons from 5/19's inserts...I think out of the Red Plum but maybe out of Smart Source...not sure which.Anyhow, the two coupons are BOGO body wash and $4 off when you buy 2 body washes. One Q will beep to tell the cashier to write the price in but they both go through and you get both body washes for 1.19 and 1 register reward will print for 4.50 off your next order. The Knightdale wags only had one body wash left so I had to go searching for another location. I plan to make a stop in the am and get one more run in.
5/16/2010 9:27:49 PM
maybe this is a stupid question but do they double buy one get one free coupons?...like would you get 2 of that item free orrrr what? lol.
5/16/2010 10:33:51 PM
Kmart is the only place that has ever doubled BOGO coupons. I got a ton of free cat food cans that way.
5/17/2010 12:21:18 AM
So, as it turns out, I managed to forget to pick up a Sunday paper for the coupons... does anyone know if there is a way to get one today anywhere?
5/17/2010 11:57:32 AM
Most Dollar Stores still have them You can ask at coffee shops if they have any Sunday papers left from yesterday. Lots of people buy papers at coffee shops, read it there and then leave the paper for others. I usually grab the inserts out of the papers that I find just laying around coffee shops.
5/17/2010 12:04:05 PM
^Thanks, I'll check around after work.Tried to call around to a few places a moment ago -- family dollar does not sell the newspaper and the three closest dollar generals do not have any sunday papers left. That's unfortunate.[Edited on May 17, 2010 at 12:29 PM. Reason : ..]
5/17/2010 12:20:43 PM
Assuming you live in the Raleigh area, you can go down to the News & Observer building and buy the paper I believe. You just tell the guard in the building that you want a copy of the Sunday paper and he'll sell you one.Might want to call on that one but I think you can do that.
