perhaps in the offseason, the former whalers can figure out a way to be competitive every season, not just sporadically throughout a decade.also, maybe they can have some sort of device that traps the noise from "the loudest venue in the milky way" so that i can be loud when there are no fans in the stands, or when the team no longer is in playoff contention (see january 13, give or take).flash in the pan
4/9/2007 11:35:18 PM
we owned the devils in the playoffs last year

I find it very ironic and hilarious that a guy whose team failed to make the playoffs the year after their first Cup (and whose team couldn't even fill the stands when they were winning their second and third Cups) is trying to run smack on us.
4/9/2007 11:42:07 PM
we had a hell of a crowd there for a 'meaningless' game on saturday night. and it was loud, like playoff loud. these people care about their hockey, and to keep that many asses in the seats being down 4-1 in a meaningless game... i dont think we have to worry too much about empty arenas any time soon
4/9/2007 11:42:11 PM
pffft a devils fan, poking fun at another team's attendence? stfu you made hockey a joke with your boring ass play and you haven't won a cup since Stevens left and now you have no one to head hunt the other team's first-liners for you.

I lived in Jersey for 2 years... there wasn't that much more support their than there is here... Also, we live in North Carolina. NASCAR land not hockey land. Give the orginization some credit for actually putting the pieces together for a championshipAnd Jersey sucked (armpit of America)REDNECK HOCKEY FTW

redneck hockey?how many players on the former whalers went to school in this area or are from here originally? it is fair to say they represent the city. it is not fair to the former whalers players to saddle them with that burden.neutral zone trap = 3 cups and end of ron francis's careerflash in the pan = dwindling fan base and overpriced seats alienating public and eventually moving team to winnipeg.flash in the pan
4/9/2007 11:46:41 PM
What the fuck are you talking about? The Hurricanes had the largest attendance increase in the entire league this season. How many Devils players are from NEW JERSEY?
4/9/2007 11:48:08 PM
redneck hockey my friend, because that what we like to call it. I think it's class-less hockey in N.J?and look at those attendance stats again
4/9/2007 11:48:15 PM
^^^even though i'm not a hurricanes fan, they're not going to winnipeg...in fact no nhl team in their right mind would move north of the border with the exchange rates these days[Edited on April 9, 2007 at 11:48 PM. Reason : ^]

4/9/2007 11:52:41 PM
perhaps if they spent more time practicing and less time buying youngs double chocolate stout they would have made the playoffs.instead, the former whalers can drown themselves in beer. apparantly they're good at one thing.flash in the pan
4/9/2007 11:54:16 PM
I hope the Lightning sweep the former Scouts.

^^ when will people just ignore this guy/report it to BearDawg??Anyways, fun season, though disappointing. Looking forward to watching the playoffs and not being attached in any way to the results. As long as Buffalo doesn't win. And in the spirit of this thread, as long as Jersey doesn't win either.
