2/16/2006 11:22:56 AM

2/16/2006 12:35:28 PM
I want a ticket bad!! Anyone ?? Plea$e!
2/16/2006 2:20:49 PM
Dammit. This is the first game I'm going to have to miss.
2/16/2006 3:11:46 PM
you know what sucks is that those people who haven't been to a game yet are probably getting tickets over the more devoted fans. I was lucky enough to get one through campout but I just wonder how many of those people camping out haven't even been to a basketball game yet. For the big games it should be required that you go to a certain amount of games before it and you get dibs first.
2/16/2006 3:16:46 PM
well, sometimes i don't win tickets to games but go using another ID that did win. there's no way to account for stuff like thatunless they counted times you registered for tickets and lost towards your total[Edited on February 16, 2006 at 4:22 PM. Reason : ]

^^I know of at least 3 people in a class of 12 that did that. I have been to over 10 home games including Delaware, the Citadel, and the other small games. I have only missed games because of work. The 3 students in my class have better tickets than I do for the UNC game because there group was ahead of mine. One even asked me how to get to the ticket website. If we want to complain about this who do we send emails to? I don't mind them getting tickets to the game. I just feel like I should have a better chance at sideline tickets because I actually care about the team.
2/16/2006 4:47:53 PM
when they get this ticket system straight, they need to make another option like Cancel but make it Transfer. You enter the unity id you want to transfer it to, they confirm and that allows for those using other peoples' tickets.
2/16/2006 4:51:26 PM
i think for the big games there should be some kind of priority by class, and how many games you've attended. i like the idea of penalizing people that don't use their tickets, but those that never go to games get to have the same chance at getting tickets as a person that has gone to a good amount of the games. like say you get a .2 point for every OOC game you go to, and you get a .1 point for all non-Duke /Carolina ACC games you go too. just look at the Carolina Football game this past year. a lot of people that actually care about the game got shafted, and a bunch of people that were just there for the party got to go. i got stuck in the top of the upper deck (which i don't mind, C-F has great sightlines everywhere) with a bunch of Frat douches (not saying all are douches, i have Greek friends myself, but you know the ones that fit the bad stereotype) and all they did was bullshit with each other. they didn't pay attention to the game, and left with 5 mins to go in the 1st half to go drink some more. they didn't even return back to there group of friends. one of their friends even called them out for it, and told them it was a douchey thing to do. now that's the kind of person if i where God, i would condemn to hell. this is my final semester where i will have the chance to go to a bball game as a student, and i'm having to face the reality that i might miss this game. the one that is usually the most rowdiest of all, and shows what the RBC Center could be like night in and night out. i kind of like how Wisconsin has student season tickets.http://www.uwbadgers.com/tickets/mbb/mbb_student.aspxi would have it where there are a limited number of season tickets, and those are distributed for each game a week before the game, first come first serve. those people get the best seats. if they're not claimed then they are released to single game distribution that will happen on the following day.
2/16/2006 5:05:29 PM
^no way. if you want to give it to someone specific, print it out and hand them the thing. cancelling tickets is to give everyone a fair chance of claiming it.[Edited on February 16, 2006 at 5:05 PM. Reason : ]
2/16/2006 5:05:32 PM
You can still have cancel but also have a transfer option. Basically it would be the same as it is now, but it will give credit to the person taking the ticket. Why should you or me get credit for going to the game if someone else is using our ticket? Also, if you come in with less than 3 minutes to go in the first half, you should lose your seats and be forced to sit elsewhere. This group of people came in last night with like 3:10 left and were bitching that someone was in their seats. wtf. Get there on time dumbass or don't go.[Edited on February 16, 2006 at 5:28 PM. 2/16/2006 5:26:09 PM
ok that is a good point, but it would only be necessary if they actually took your attendance into account when determing your chance to get tickets. i really don't see that happening, mainly because they have WAY more important issues to fix and i doubt they'll even do that much.
2/16/2006 5:28:05 PM
I can't argue with you there. First we need to get rid of Ticket Return and hire someone else. Second, we need to get a group of people together that does what lee has done. I mean, it's not even his responsibility now to deal with this shit but without his help, there would be a damn riot going on with athletics.
2/16/2006 5:32:24 PM
agreedi mean i could rattle off just a few changes that should in no way be hard to make that would improve the system by leaps and bounds. i don't want to have to join student government, but i would definitely be a part of some sort of group that strives to improve the system. i would think that the athletic department would want something better than this. all those empty student seats to acc games are unacceptable, and im not just talking about the ones due to the recent server crash.there have been empty rows in the lower level student sections at every game i've been to so far.
2/16/2006 5:40:27 PM
anyone having trouble printing a UNC ticket? It says I have one in my account and says when I requested it but won't let me claim it. Sorry if someone has already asked this, I didn't feel like reading the whole thread.
2/16/2006 5:45:01 PM
yeah, once i'm done w/ my 3 papers, 4 exams, and 3 meetings across the state between now and next wednesday, I'll take the time to write a long ass thing about where we have been w/ this process, why things haven't gone the way they should, and recommendations i've put together (that will be going into effect next year)
2/16/2006 5:45:03 PM
^Thanks for all your help with the new system, and also having to hear a bunch of bitching, whether it's warranted or not. I think the online system was a great idea, and will run much more smoothly next year since the growing pains will end. All good things have their kinks that have to be worked out.

dude, i've gone to basically every home game (except maybe 2) for the last 3 years and I didn't win ticket either.
2/16/2006 10:51:08 PM
If it makes you feel any better, I have only been to 4 games in the past 2 years and I got lower level in the lottery
2/16/2006 10:54:00 PM
^die
2/16/2006 11:09:14 PM
i hate that shit. its like everyone comes out of the woodwork for carolina while many of us have been goin nuts at the RBC for years for every game.
2/16/2006 11:40:12 PM
^in the same boat you are...wonder how much a scalped ticket would cost
2/17/2006 12:57:44 AM
you guys should have camped out
2/17/2006 1:06:17 AM
i would have if i wasnt worried about sacrificing my semester for it. ive had exams and shit forever it seems.
2/17/2006 1:19:19 AM
exams forever??? suck a dick you pussy, camp out if you love NCSU, or join WPC, otherwise don't fucking post here.. K??
2/17/2006 1:23:00 AM
i usually get tix to every game, so why so wpc or go camping during a week of straight exams?my friends do a block, and thats who i sign up with, its been my routine and it usually works out fine. [Edited on February 17, 2006 at 1:29 AM. Reason : .]

I don't need some underclassman cunt telling me to camp out. I've been to more than the majority of posters on here. I'm sorry that I have to work and actually study and cannot camp out. Besides, campout is now a joke.
2/17/2006 1:39:00 AM
seconded, god damn i have to work hard to do well, if its not the same for you dont blame me.[Edited on February 17, 2006 at 1:52 AM. Reason : .]
2/17/2006 1:41:17 AM
i understand some people have to work, but you only need half your group there at all times. if you really wanted to campout, you could have found a way. if there was absolutely no way, then that really sux. also, who studies on a friday night? seriously, lets not kid ourselves here.
2/17/2006 7:12:06 AM
2/17/2006 7:45:44 AM
2/17/2006 8:04:35 AM
^^ exactly. if i cant be there im not gonna be one of those fuckers who is just like sign me up for good tickets.
2/17/2006 9:48:08 AM
my entire group was there, despite one being in a coop in Virginia---he hauled ass to get herebut I understand teh situations in which some students are on coop or internships out of state and can't make campout but want to sit with their friends...and since they still pay their fees they are still eligible for tickets
2/17/2006 9:50:24 AM
well its not that I couldn't be there for any of campout. It would just be pushing it to make the first line check depending on where in line my group would have been. But I would have pushed it to make it if I had found out I could have thur off in time to sign up for campout.and I don't care who you are or what your excuse is. I feel that if you aren't there, you shouldn't get tickets from campout. Because if you're not there, then you're not camping out. I could see having it so that 1 person can not be present at a line check incase they had to go to the bathroom or something. But if the same person is absent from consecutive line checks then the group shouldn't get tickets.I realize that this controlled type of campout is the only kind that they will let us have. But to me, it isn't really camping out. The first thing I would change about campout though is where it is at . . . I would have it over at the stadium lots or the fairgrounds lot. Maybe instead of having SG do it, create some other club or organization that is strictly for organizing campout.
2/17/2006 10:19:51 AM
2/17/2006 10:56:21 AM
I'm not real familiar with what campout originally was . . . so if someone else knows, could you enlighten me?Has it always been just a one night thing that was controlled like it is now? Or was it a show up whenever thing like they do over at Duke?if it was more than just a friday night thing, i could see having relaxed rules for the number of people since people have classes and they wouldn't want to advocate not going to class. But the way it is now just one night from like 7ish to 7ish, everyone that gets a ticket should be there the majority of the night.
2/17/2006 11:05:49 AM
so are any extra tickets beign given in a 2nd lottery or on demand?
2/17/2006 1:49:03 PM
