I like the shakeup in tonight's lineup. Good riddance, Jon Jay, you horrible bastard1. Carpenter (2B)2. Robinson (CF)3. Holliday (LF)4. Beltran (RF)5. Molina (C)6. Craig (1B)7. Freese (3B)8. Kozma (SS)9. Wainwright (P)
10/28/2013 7:37:36 PM
I wonder if Craig would have beaten out that bobbled double play if he wasn't just trotting down the line. WTF.
10/28/2013 8:47:09 PM
well, he is still recovering from a nasty high ankle sprain. probably still faster down the line than a healthy Matt Adamsbut you're right -- he was barely halfway down the line
10/28/2013 8:52:01 PM
lest we forget this physiology lesson on how ankles are not supposed to bend:
10/28/2013 8:55:57 PM
LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DAMMIT
10/30/2013 8:32:36 PM
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK.
10/30/2013 9:10:19 PM
I appreciate what you did in 2011, Freese, but you can go straight to hell and take Jon Fucking Jay with you
10/30/2013 9:23:01 PM
Westbrook option declined for 2014:
11/1/2013 10:51:38 AM
Freese to the AngelsPeter Bourjos to Cards
11/23/2013 2:15:11 PM
Good trade. Freese was struggling in the field and at the plate. Bourjos adds speed which is badly needed and Jay is aggravating.
11/23/2013 10:05:45 PM
Jhonny Peralta, of Biogenesis fame, is our new shortstopDefinitely an upgrade over Kozma
11/25/2013 11:38:45 AM
Wong 2BCarpenter 3BHoliday LFCraig RFAdams 1BMolina CPeralta SSBourjos/Jay CFWainoWachaLynnMillerKellyJaime? SiegristMartinezMotteRosenthalPretty badass. Tavares waiting in the wings if he's fully recovered.
11/25/2013 12:02:11 PM
I'll be a happy man if Jay never starts another game
11/25/2013 12:11:46 PM
not sure what to think about this deal. a veteran, solid fielder, but absolutely no threat at the plate.http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/mlb/story/_/id/10141234/2b-mark-ellis-sign-st-louis-cardinals
12/16/2013 7:27:51 PM
good thing spring training scores don't count
3/11/2014 12:17:25 AM
Waino and Wacha were great. 2-1 series win at Cincy. Batt Adams already mashing the ball.
4/4/2014 9:55:25 AM
Yadi out til September-ishthere goes the season
7/10/2014 9:02:40 PM
Pierzynski will be an excellent fill-in until Jadi comes backgood start today
7/26/2014 7:44:19 PM
I worry about his very strong ego and personality. He is not a Cardinal player, but then again neither is Jhonny Peratla.
7/26/2014 10:48:22 PM
Randal Grichuk. soon to be a household name, folks
10/3/2014 7:07:53 PM
FIGHT!
10/3/2014 7:34:58 PM
Carpenter > Kershaw
10/3/2014 9:27:54 PM
you've got to be kidding me
10/7/2014 12:06:59 AM
Cardinals in 4any takers?
10/8/2014 10:39:26 PM
Always a struggle with the Giants. No Cain, no Timmy, and yet here they are with the ageless ones Hudson & Peavy. Somehow Ryan Vogelsong becomes a stud in the postseason as well. Could be a close series. Bumgarner will give them fits, but hey nobody is better than Kershaw.
10/8/2014 11:16:56 PM
Wong is the new Freese
10/12/2014 11:50:57 PM
God between the walks and errors, Cards should have been swept. Wong at least is a budding star.
10/15/2014 11:24:48 PM
Come on, 'Birds.
10/16/2014 10:30:52 PM
it's now or nevercome on, bullpenfuck.[Edited on October 16, 2014 at 10:36 PM. Reason : m]
10/16/2014 10:35:24 PM
why not bring in AJ to pinch hit?
10/16/2014 11:02:08 PM
Thanks for losing to the Giants, AGAIN Cards. The next week is going to be horrible
10/16/2014 11:38:49 PM
I have not been critical of MM at all but the decision to not use Wacha at all and then pitch him with the season on the line was sketch. Especially considering he has not pitched in 20 days. I think Wainwright could have went another inning. He was lights out the last three and routinely goes to 120 and was only at 97.
10/17/2014 8:50:43 AM
it wasn't sketch. it was dumb as hell. on top of that, his excuse for not using rosenthal was that it was a tie game. in a win or go home situation you do not let saves dictate your strategy when you have a better option available. this is the kind of thing I was getting at in the other thread. he is completely inept, plays favorites, and he has little regard for the development of the cardinals' young talent. the guy is a joke.
10/17/2014 9:13:34 AM
Yeah can't believe he kept playing Jon Jay, dude barely hit .500 this series
10/17/2014 9:36:49 AM
what does that even mean?
10/17/2014 9:40:50 AM
He plays favorites like Jon Jay over Taveras according to you. But in reality it is the right move. Not much MM could have done last night. If Neshek/Rosenthal do their job, the series is back to STL.
10/17/2014 10:05:41 AM
You have to put Rosenthal in in that situation, but he was as much a liability in this series as anyone else. Bummed, wanted to see the KC/STL rematch
10/17/2014 10:11:59 AM
^^ i'm talking more about playing allen craig over taveras after matt adams came back from the DL. matheny wasn't giving consistent playing time to an elite prospect who needed it in order to see more major league pitchers and establish any kind of rhythm at the plate in favor of someone who actually was performing terribly. then he just used small amounts of PAs to say "hey look he's struggling!" when all the kid needed was more opportunities. he did the same thing with kolten wong back in april when he kept platooning him and moving him all over the batting order and starting him and sitting him randomly, which eventually led to him being demoted. there's just a lot of really basic shit that he doesn't seem to grasp.
10/17/2014 10:40:56 AM
I think we can all agree that if Yadi were healthy, we'd be in the World Series
10/17/2014 12:02:08 PM
Once Molina was out I knew the Cards had ZERO chance to win. Totally changed the series.
10/17/2014 1:05:51 PM
Damn Taveras dead. Tragic. Dude was going to be a star
10/26/2014 9:09:02 PM
guess matheny doesn't have to worry about playing oscar taveras anymore
10/26/2014 9:09:21 PM
wow
10/26/2014 9:21:20 PM
^^ Wow dude eat a fucking dick. A future superstar died and you are making jokes.Shit has happened to STL a lot. Darryl Kile, Josh Hancock, Oscar.
10/26/2014 9:43:12 PM
i'm surprised tony la russa's drunk driving ass never killed himself or someone else when he'd get blitzed and then drive around
10/26/2014 10:14:07 PM
^ lol, Dingus really hates the Cards. I am no Cards fan, but even I know when to lay low with the hate.
10/27/2014 10:24:17 AM
I will admit that comment was kind of poor taste. I wasn't really joking thoughit's honestly a shame what happened to the kid. he was going to be fun to watch. apparently the roads in the DR, and the particular road he was driving on, are just a complete mess and are terrifying to drive on. hopefully he wasn't drinking.
10/27/2014 11:06:09 AM
oh hell yes2015 lineup: Carpenter, Heyward, Holliday, Adams, Peralta, Molina, Jay, Wong[Edited on November 17, 2014 at 1:12 PM. Reason : m]
