elise, you can ask yourself 'would my friend have worn rainbows to my wedding?' If the answer is yes, I say knock yourself out.
5/14/2013 9:58:30 AM
I'm not against it at a casual wedding. Y'all can wear rainbows to my wedding if you want.Just kidding, I'm not inviting wolf webers[Edited on May 14, 2013 at 10:01 AM. Reason : ]

I have to wear "strappy, silver sandals" to my next wedding. I have no idea who decided this...but they're arriving in the next couple days, and I've got a few weeks to make them wearable. If you see somebody buying groceries in a sweat skirt and 4-inch silver heels, that's just me breaking my feet in.
5/14/2013 10:10:54 AM
My wedding was in November and not on the beach and my bridesmaids and I wore converses. Asking myself won't really help. I asked because I was unsure. I don't give a rats ass what people wear as long as they are enjoying themselves. I have never been to a noon wedding or a beach wedding. I don't fancy wearing dress shoes with sand in them, but I will figure something out.How about a gladiator sandal?[Edited on May 14, 2013 at 10:35 AM. Reason : .]
5/14/2013 10:33:34 AM
I would wear gladiators in a heartbeat. I'd wear cheap mossimo sandals from target. Personally, I just would stay away from flip flops entirely unless they were a wedge or very short heel. Only time I wore flip flops to a wedding, I was in it and the bride chose them for us to wear, and IMO they looked bad. *shrug* Again that's just me as I also agree with green jay here.
5/14/2013 10:51:15 AM
I'm jelly of people who can wear those. Ankle straps, t-straps, gladiators...they all cut my legs off so bad.
5/14/2013 10:51:41 AM
if you're going to wear flops...get the pretty skinny metalic leather strap oneslike the capri sandal from jcrew
5/14/2013 10:58:47 AM
Those J. crew are cute but look like they might hurt. I will check Target for a cheap pair of gladiators or maybe actually invest in a good pair so I won't be in this predicament again. Should I stick with metallic for the spring/mint green dress?

Band-Aid makes a friction stick that's supposed to help prevent blisters and whatnot:http://www.drugstore.com/band-aid-active-friction-block-stick/qxp163404[Edited on May 14, 2013 at 11:20 AM. Reason : I think I read about it in this thread actually.]
5/14/2013 11:17:34 AM
I mean you can get cheaper and more comfy versions of a sandal like thatI've had mine for years and are amazingly great once you break them in (the whole she is made of leather)I know Target and every other store makes a knock-off version...and you can never go wrong with metallic. Matches everything
5/14/2013 11:23:38 AM
thanks, tww users. I appreciate the suggestions!
5/14/2013 11:33:29 AM
I have those exact j.crew flip flops. I wore them to Samwise16's wedding. They're actually really comfortable, but heavier/more durable than they look.[Edited on May 14, 2013 at 11:50 AM. Reason : I also have them in brown.]
5/14/2013 11:49:02 AM
pretty sure I changed into mine at the wedding too I have black patent leather...had the gold and the silver and they finally broke but I plan on replacing them this year
5/14/2013 12:02:04 PM
I'm not wearing $120 shoes in the mud. I think I'm getting a $13 pair from H&M and calling it good enough. http://www.hm.com/us/product/06345?article=06345-J#article=06345-AElise, it might also be a good option for you if you want to avoid the flip flops (I'd wear thongs to a beach wedding, personally).
5/14/2013 1:31:30 PM
those are way better than those monsters you posted earlier
5/14/2013 1:37:57 PM
FML, heading to the mall now since my jeans just ripped apart and I have to tutor in a couple hours. Guess I'm picking up those shoes sooner than expected.
5/14/2013 2:12:18 PM
I was in an outside wedding in July a few years ago and we had to buy ridiculously priced white satin shoes with a tiny heel. They were totally ruined because the heels sank in the wet ground.
5/14/2013 2:16:39 PM
I like those jcrew flops. I wish I had money. Booooooooo
5/14/2013 4:11:29 PM
catch em at the end of the season! They go on sale for sure.right now they're $10 off in the store (saw that on Sunday)
5/14/2013 4:22:44 PM
Anyone heard of Beacon's Closet? I know there are three locations in NYC. I am going to check out the Williamsburg one soon. So excite!
5/14/2013 4:36:12 PM
^^ok, dumb question. When is the end of "the season"? And when are the seasons anyway? How do I know when one is coming and the last is going? HALP! Even though I'll probably still be wearing rainbows and ripped jeans 10 years from now. Most of the time.
5/14/2013 5:04:47 PM
ahah well retail "seasons" are way different than real nature ones they will most likely start bringing out fall in late July/early August...which let me tell you it sucks as an employee because they want you to start wearing the stuff but it's fucking hot outsideso summer sales will usually happen around then

Coordinating another wedding this weekend and I'm getting paid for it hopefully this can turn into something
5/17/2013 1:25:27 PM
That is awesome! So many people dream about getting paid for that.^^You just reminded me I have to break in my feet/shoes some more tonight. They should prescribe pain pills for those rare events where you have to wear horrible shoes.

elise - i got the macadamia oil in my birchbox the other day so tried it on my dry hair after the shower this morning. it smells good but i didn't really notice anything different about my hair, except it looked a little greasy at the roots. how did you use it?[Edited on May 17, 2013 at 1:45 PM. Reason : ]
5/17/2013 1:45:28 PM
I have used it twice now. First time I put it on right after a shower and then blow dried it while using a big round brush. The second time I just put it on right after a shower and let it air dry. Both times it looked great. I do not put it on the roots. I start maybe an inch or two from the roots and use a nickel sized amount.
5/17/2013 1:55:41 PM
Ok. I think I'll try again when my hair is still wet. The directions said it could be wet or dry but I didn't really notice anything on my dry hair. Maybe my hair is already too beautiful
5/17/2013 2:44:28 PM
That must be it!
5/17/2013 3:14:37 PM
Shampooed my hair for the first time yesterday since January 14th! Actually, I didn't-- the guy at the salon did after I got my hair highlighted. My hair feels so different right now, it's lost all of it's soft, easy manageability-- Hopefully it's not just damage from getting highlights and just needs my natural oils back. Now I guess I should find a new shampoo that is safe for color treated hair and doesn't strip/use detergents
5/17/2013 3:20:09 PM
A few things...I got the Bobby Brown mascara yesterday and ZOMG I love it! Goes on lightly and really makes my lashes pop. Thank you for the recommendation!I also picked up some Moroccan oil shampoo, conditioner, and curl cream. The guy at Blue Mercury highly recommended it over other products (such as BB) especially since I have drier hair and I think that's what causes so much frizz in my hair when I wear it wavy. Jury is still out. I don't know if I used enough curl cream. My hair is softer. I'm going to try it a few more times before making a final decision.
5/18/2013 12:06:13 PM
Wtf
5/18/2013 6:10:43 PM
I would say her feet are too big for her shoes, but then look at how much room her heel has.Too high of heels, shoving her feet down to the bottom, those little toesies just couldn't fit without major pain I suppose.
5/18/2013 7:45:34 PM
If I had to guess I'd say they were actually slipping out as she walked (due to the heel height and strap placement)
5/18/2013 8:45:19 PM
^^^That's very close to the situation I was facing with my shoes. I wore them three nights in a row, and they should no signs of stretching. So I got approved to wear peep-toe slingbacks instead!I don't mind brutalizing my feet, but I can't bare to have my toes on full display while I'm doing it.
5/19/2013 12:54:03 AM
bear
5/19/2013 1:47:07 AM
5/19/2013 2:11:26 AM
showed^That doesn't help me at all. LOL
5/19/2013 2:16:27 AM
The toe box area of the heel is too narrow & strappy for her foot, so her toes popped out as she walked. Make sure you walk around in your shoes a bit before you buy them or at least before you walk out of the house in them.
5/19/2013 7:08:57 AM
hey ladies
5/19/2013 3:00:29 PM
the shoe is too big for her foot
5/19/2013 8:48:04 PM
