makes more sense, only a Josh McDaniels would come out with something like that
12/5/2011 2:11:41 PM
I've always wanted to see a team go for two after every score
12/5/2011 4:34:07 PM
I'd like to see a comparison on their run success from the 2 yd line vs. 3rd-and-2 situations away from the goal line, say past the 10 yd linedefenses don't have to spread out as much if they're confined to the endzone
12/5/2011 5:05:42 PM
this is all well and good but it's the Panthers we're talking about and even this staff will find a way to think that a draw play to Williams on the goal line will fool somebody.]
12/5/2011 5:12:57 PM
Dalton is not winning ROY. That douche hat wrote that article because he knew it would get hits.
12/5/2011 6:26:43 PM
it's not even a unique argumentpeople have been promoting Dalton for weeks now
12/5/2011 6:28:14 PM
I follow the Panthers and whatever games are on TV and not much else. That was the first I had heard of Dalton for Rookie of the Year. That article seemed like a hell of a stretch though
12/5/2011 7:21:22 PM
most of the early talk was just based on Dalton's team getting wins and Newton's team only having 2 wins at the time

Cam's interview with ESPN for their NEXT thing http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=espn:7319392
12/5/2011 8:23:25 PM
ok, apparently they did trade her another game ball for the #13 ball
12/5/2011 8:38:31 PM
18?
12/5/2011 9:20:21 PM
she looks like she could play for the panthers in 5 years
12/5/2011 9:44:46 PM
So the guy is president of his company, and his daughter asks for Bucs tickets, which are cheap as shit because nobody goes, he tells her we can't afford them, and she believes him? Stupid bitch.
12/5/2011 9:51:54 PM
So we have to win out. How mad as hell will I be if we finish say 7-9 or 8-8 and we are 1 or 2 games out of the playoffs....Mare field goal gameDevon Hester punt return gameTimeout before the half when a field wouldn't have been attempted gamePatrick Peterson punt return gameargggg
12/5/2011 10:27:10 PM
fuck that playoff nonsense, play for picks
12/5/2011 10:30:26 PM
^^^fuck all that, this team will be competing in 2-3 years regardless of where they pickshit, if all goes well, they will compete next year if they find a few key pieces in free agency and/or players like Keiser blow up on defense. i guarantee the Panthers will do a 180 on defense when Beason comes back, with the addition of some veterans at DT
12/6/2011 2:02:45 AM
they need to learn how to defend the pass too.. you probably forgot since they played the Colts and Tampa Bay's backup QB, but they're pretty terrible, Matt Ryan should remind you.. Houston will still have something to play for, TB will have Freeman back next time, and New Orleans might be resting players by then if they clinch.I don't think the Panthers win more than 2 more games if they're lucky, so hopefully a good CB/DT early in the first round, and I think this can be a contender in a year or two
12/6/2011 2:25:03 AM
12/6/2011 10:39:37 AM
hence my caveat
12/6/2011 10:41:57 AM
Stole this from a panthers forum (who stole it from another forum), top 10 statistical corners this year through last weekObviously the rankings are arguable but Gamble is having a fantastic season. Best player on our D by far with no Beason.
12/6/2011 11:40:44 AM
he's been quietly having an exceptional season, especially when you consider how bad the defense is as a unit.he's only 28, but it feels like he's been around forever. he should have anywhere from 3-5 years left of playing at a high level. or maybe he'll be timeless like Charles Woodson.
12/6/2011 11:48:45 AM
12/6/2011 4:08:33 PM
Both of those guys were shitTime to roll the dice again next year
12/6/2011 4:10:02 PM
Neblett is the truth
12/6/2011 4:16:20 PM
Frank Kearse and Neblett are now the only DTs on the roster if i'm not mistaken
12/6/2011 4:23:38 PM
With the DEs we've got, they might slide one or both to DT on obvious passing downs. I know we've done this with Charles Johnson in the past. Having Hardy, Johsnon, Applewhite, and Keiser rushing the passer would not suck.Hopefully Neblett and whoever can hold steady on run downs.

it should be a great draft for teams that don't want a quarterback. I'm no draftnik but with a QB class as strong as this years, you have to figure teams like Carolina can get great value in the first two rounds. Maybe they'd take a CB in the first and WR in the second
12/6/2011 5:22:42 PM
signed DeMario Pressley to practice squad[Edited on December 6, 2011 at 6:32 PM. Reason : ]
12/6/2011 6:31:29 PM
did the panthers give up a 3rd rd pick for something? i know it's retardedly early, but i was trying to see rankings for players in the 2012 draft and saw mocks that don't have the panthers with a 3rd rounder. anyways, the early ones say claiborne, but obviously the panthers might move down a few spots and fuck that up
12/6/2011 7:41:31 PM
^Gave it up for Olsen didn't they?[Edited on December 6, 2011 at 7:47 PM. Reason : .]

I didn't realize Atlanta hasn't played outdoors since Week 4
12/7/2011 3:08:09 PM
I remember when Gamble as a Rookie fucked up that game against the vikings. We were up by 3 with < 2 minutes to go. Gamble had the grand idea to lateral the ball during a kick-return. His teammate unexpecting such play, scrambles to get the ball. Viking recover on the Panther 9 yard line and score the game winning TD.

it was a called play according to john fox after the game. doesnt mean he shouldnt have hung on to it when he realized it wouldnt work, but he didnt decide to do it on his own accord.[Edited on December 7, 2011 at 3:38 PM. Reason : ^]
12/7/2011 3:37:52 PM
that didn't happen during his rookie season

That lion metaphor really came off the rails

I posted that like 3 days agobut I guess since slave found it on youtube for an embed it's alright
12/8/2011 10:01:03 AM
Interesting interview. Not sure what to think about his "I'M JUST GON HAVE TO GET OUT THA HOUSE" spiel
12/8/2011 12:00:23 PM
^ Yeah, he could have left it at "I'm trying to change that. Where I have to turn that house into a safari." and been done with it. Not sure how I feel about that comment either. Hmm.....definitely an awkward interview. The last thing we need is for Cam to give up hope on this team and want out.
12/8/2011 1:20:21 PM
Yeah I agree, not sure how much I liked that whole metaphor, especially about how he said he has come to a place where losing is accepted. This ain't the browns or the bills. But I liked everything else he said, he shows damn good passion and leadership
