Ditto.

^^^^ Goalies FTW: Grahame scared the fuck out of me with his (lack of) rebound control tonight, but he got it done when it counted, gg. ]
4/7/2007 11:28:52 PM
jesus christ 52 shots on goalwe could have had 10 goals on that goalie, last two games we've had so many open net chances its not funny. he liked to stick to the post.yeah that was definately the best way to end the season if we had to miss the playoffs, apparently we like to make comebacks against florida for whatever reason. a really fun game and a fun season. it's gonna be a long offseason, hopefully we get a new jumbotron or something like that, that'd be cool. haha i saw that 327-329 was in full force tonight. (eventually get the whole arena to do the things you guys who sit up there do, goalie chant/penalty cheer or whatever)god that game was awesome yet amazingly frustrating

"The Silver Lining: No Buffalo Fans Here This Year"
4/8/2007 12:30:46 AM
i liked that.OH yeah, by the way, whenever i get the chance i'll look if i'm bored enough.. but anyone happen to know somewhere to find our record in home game sell outs, or there about, or maybe just weekend games (fri/sat)i think our momentum in games and the wins are almost proportional to crowd noise and attendence, it seems like anyway. the louder the better we play.[Edited on April 8, 2007 at 12:38 AM. 4/9/2007 11:43:36 AM
why we hatin on cole
4/9/2007 11:47:49 AM
yes, why are we hating on cole?
4/9/2007 12:19:03 PM
^ I don't hate Cole but I feel he is the most likely candidate to be traded if JR decides to make a big move.

I really hope we keep Ward, Walker and the Wizard
4/9/2007 2:54:17 PM
yes i am serious... i hate the guy... and vasicek i think theyre the same player... clumsy as hell and overrated
4/9/2007 2:56:02 PM
ha. brilliant reply
4/9/2007 3:11:47 PM
you dont have to worry about ward. he is a rfa, and we will do what it takes. personally, i'd like to see these things:A goalie that can split the load with cam, im talkin 50/50. sure he was the shit in the playoffs, but i just dont think he is ready for a solid #1 label.A REAL #1 or 2 Dman. commodore isnt it, gleason isnt it(yet)wesley and hedican dont fit the bill, and kaberle... well... i dont know what he will be for us, just a decent dman with good offensive upside. I'd be happy to ship cole for a 26 or so year old top quality dman.Whitney and Walker resigned. Enough said.I just hope we arent planning on relying on tanabe as much as i fear we are. i still see him as doodoo
4/9/2007 3:14:39 PM
- Whitney is the number one priority. I hope they can keep him, but this more than likely will be his last big contract he gets so we will have to spend good money on him. - I think Hedican will retire. Not sure about Wesley, but I wont be suprised. - We need a number one or two defenseman so badly. Someone who can shut down the star player on the other team. Jokinen, St. Louis, Lecavlier, and Ovechkin/Semin KILL us every time we play them. Not that they dont dominate other teams too but someone who could slow those players down is what we are missing. - Vasicek and Tanabe will more than likely be back.- I agree with the Cole trade as long as we get young defensive help back. I believe Cole is a FA in the next couple years, and I could see him leaving.
4/9/2007 3:30:44 PM
i think trading cole is crazy talk. he's so dynamic, and is the only person creating opportunities of late. why would we trade cole?
4/9/2007 3:36:16 PM
b/c he only plays with that edge every 5 or 6 games.
4/9/2007 3:38:40 PM
not particularly. if you listen to interviews from late in the season, all of the other players are very quick to say that eric cole has been the best player on the ice. if 60 points in 70 games in inconsistent, then our team would have a 1 seed
4/9/2007 3:42:24 PM
he has played well of late, but have you watched the whole season? if so, you'll understand what I (and LOTS of canes fans) see.
4/9/2007 3:44:06 PM
might have something to do with the fact that he tore a bunch of ligaments in his hip. was out for about 4 weeks. takes a while to get back in the groove. i can understand if you feel he's inconsistent, but if he's on an upswing now, why release him? doesn't seem right to critique him based on injuries.
4/9/2007 3:47:10 PM
so we should hold on to someone til they're worth nothing, then trade them for pennies on the dollar?Again, i'm not neccessarily advocating a Cole trade, but it you're gonna trade someone, do it when value is high.
4/9/2007 3:58:30 PM
If you think that Erik Cole's inconsistency is a result of injuries, you haven't been watching the Canes for the past five years. He's brilliant when he's on. There's no denying that. He's excellent at drawing penalties, but he's also a notorious diver. On top of that, there were long stretches in the past three seasons where he'd inexplicably fall down at least once (and often three or more times) in every single game, often at extremely inopportune times. 60 points in 70 games or not, he takes shifts off, and he takes games off. He's easily the most frustrating player on the team, because he's an incredible hockey player who doesn't act like one as often as he should. Still, I wouldn't trade him for anything less than an absolute 1/2 defenseman. ]
4/9/2007 5:07:52 PM
a great player that doesn't act like one? why don't we trade eric staal then? last i checked, he's the "future," but hasn't really done shit all year. if you want to talk about frustrating players, i'd say eric staal should be at the forefront of this conversation. not quite sure anybody can make the argument that he earned his $4.5 million paycheck this season[Edited on April 9, 2007 at 7:02 PM. Reason : grammar]
4/9/2007 6:59:49 PM
lets also compare ages of the 2. Last I checked, Staal is 22, whereas Cole is 28. Potential comes into play there too. Lets also play which one has a 100 pt season to his credit. I'll give you a few minutes to mull that over.
4/9/2007 7:56:56 PM
true. and let me explain that i definitely do not want to trade staal. i guess since cole is one of my favorite players, its hard to think of trading him. but we do need d-men, i guess if we could snag a bigtime defenseman, it could potentially be worth it. really enjoy watching him on the puck though. when he's on his game, he's so damn dangerous. losing him would be tough for me to swallow, but if it is in the best interest of the team, then i guess i could deal with it.
4/9/2007 8:13:02 PM
we need help on both sideswe need someone that is clutch, and not inconsistant
4/9/2007 8:28:50 PM
two words for a tradebrian mccabe
4/9/2007 9:18:07 PM
oh god
4/9/2007 9:24:48 PM
i take it back..... i dont like him eitherthrow some names out there tho... if you all want a defensive guy
4/9/2007 9:37:00 PM
tomas kaberle, not for cole though.
4/9/2007 10:48:03 PM
trade vasicek, scottie walker, or cory stillman...AND FOR FUCKS SAKE BRING BACK DOUG WEIGHT![Edited on April 9, 2007 at 10:57 PM. Reason : grammar]
4/9/2007 10:57:39 PM
yea doug weight was huge....i think stillman could go (injury prone now) as is frantiseki agree with the others....we really do need to pick up some defense... hedican and wesley are probably donetom poti perhaps... sheldon souray (although is +/- is horrible)
4/9/2007 11:04:16 PM
canes need to go back in time and make that jack johnson for jordan staal tradeor just trade eric for jordan [Edited on April 9, 2007 at 11:23 PM. Reason : penguins 4 life]

OMG! the former whalers will not be in the playoffs? what are all the fucktards with stanly cup champions flags on their vehicles going to do now? they can't fly them, it'd be inaccurate. i just cannot fathom that a team so poorly supported, that overachieved so much last year, that routinely gets owned by better teams, has a weak ass captain, a no name goaltender, and 3 times less stanly cups than the devils didn't make the playoffsoutrage, i demand a recount of the ptsflash in the pan
