^ Roy Williams?
4/13/2006 8:19:24 AM
What if you told us who he was?
4/13/2006 8:20:44 AM
he didn't say who it wasit's probably haith or something
4/13/2006 8:20:55 AM
^ No, my post was aimed at the author Good guess, BTW. Gillispie could fit as well[Edited on April 13, 2006 at 8:22 AM. Reason : ]
4/13/2006 8:21:45 AM
^that would be nicei really have no idea what his thoughts about us are. i've been saying it could be an acc assistant coach as well. hopefully not though.
4/13/2006 8:24:20 AM
Here's an ego, the dude is just an assistant at UCLA and he has his own website. When the A listers fall out we should check him out.http://www.kerrykeating.com/bio.html
4/13/2006 9:13:27 AM
haha he's young and he went to archbishop milloy. we could use him to just get their seniors every year and that would probably still be a hell of a class
4/13/2006 9:17:06 AM
Whoever we get needs to bring back some tradition to our program and get some new uniforms in the works. A plain red and white jersey with "STATE" on the front and plain red shorts (longer than the ones in the picture) with "PACK" on the bottom.
4/13/2006 9:17:32 AM
^ I am pretty sure that is in the hands of the NC State marketing team, not the head coach.
4/13/2006 9:19:44 AM
i think the coach can pick the uniformif i were a new hc coming in, i wouldn't want to go back to classic jerseys unless i was a former player or something. i'd rather come in with something new, to mark the beginning of my era.
4/13/2006 9:26:21 AM
What I am saying while the coach can pick the design I don't think it is in his power to change NC State to State, the university has done a heft marketing campaign to ensure that the identity of this university is NC State, NCSU, State or other original connotations of the name. That is why when watching games you see in the scoreboard, NCST not NCSU so people will read it as NC State.[Edited on April 13, 2006 at 9:47 AM. Reason : .]
4/13/2006 9:46:59 AM
^i thought MAF was responsible for NCST[Edited on April 13, 2006 at 9:49 AM. Reason : ]
4/13/2006 9:49:22 AM
I am pretty sure the NC State campaign was pretty much on a role prior to MAF coming here.
4/13/2006 9:52:03 AM
i'm just referring specifically to the "NCST" being shown on the scoreboard and such
4/13/2006 9:54:04 AM
that is what i am refering to as well, it is all involved in the marketing campaign to have the school's brand be known as NC State.
4/13/2006 9:56:17 AM
we gotta have haith, haith, haith
4/13/2006 10:46:30 AM
Seems like there was a flurry of activity, speculation, and information before and during the Barnes/Calipari process and now we have almost absolute silence. What gives Lee?
4/13/2006 11:46:26 AM
hmmmm.....nobody wants to coach at ncsu. this is like the complete opposite of what the herb haters have been saying.
4/13/2006 11:55:48 AM
does anybody know anything at all about who we are contacting next? or did lee just throw in the towel and give up on next year?
4/13/2006 12:17:53 PM
perhaps he has realized that making everything public and letting his rabid fanbase full of `necks run wild is not a good idea
4/13/2006 12:27:16 PM
Seems like: Haith (Miami)Gillespie (Texas A&M)Steve Lavin (used to coach UCLA)Brady (LSU) ***I hope not***Greg Marshall (Winthrop)Wright (Villanova) ***longshot, major longshot***Others:WhittenbergToweMiller
4/13/2006 12:29:07 PM
Fowler decided to let someone from tww be the next coach. He saw that so many people on here "know" whats best for the program, that he didnt need to turn to an actual coach.
4/13/2006 12:30:44 PM
after what Calipari did to us, I dont think theres any way that we would go after Wright, a third big name coach turning us down would hurt really bad
4/13/2006 12:33:19 PM
yeah, but we gotta aim for the stars ..right?
4/13/2006 12:36:21 PM
pray for haith
4/13/2006 12:47:17 PM
I think he could be talking about Doherty. The writer emailed someone on pack pride and said he couldn't give the name right now to protect the coach, and he wanted to get pack fans reaction based only on what he wrote, without a name. This leads me to believe that it's someone that most pack fans wouldn't want if they knew the name. My bet is Doherty. It would take a while to get used to a UNC guy coaching us but I don't think he would be a bad hire.
4/13/2006 2:34:57 PM
could very well be Doh, but I dont know with him talking about all the tradition and all thatit would be extremely bad having heel fans saying that we had to get one of their guysI hope its not Doh but damn if he doesnt need to tell us who it is. My guess is Whitt.
4/13/2006 2:53:07 PM
4/13/2006 2:56:29 PM
Doh wouldn't be a bad hire but I'm not sure if it'd be appealing to the fanbase. And not to worry about UNC fans.Royboy won with Doh's players.
4/13/2006 2:57:05 PM
Whoever we offer the job to next will be our coach.ESPN:NC State can't swing and miss a third time, which is why multiple sources expect the Wolfpack to lock in a candidate they know will say yes. The Wolfpack have already been spurned by Texas' Rick Barnes and Memphis' John Calipari in their attempt to find a replacement for Herb Sendek (off to Arizona State). There is a host of different ways they could turn, like toward LSU's John Brady, Miami's Frank Haith, George Mason's Jim Larranaga or even ESPN analyst Steve Lavin, but the bottom line is they can't make a mistake again. NC State athletic director Lee Fowler already has proven to the rabid fan base that he is intent on pursuing a top candidate. He failed to nab one of them, but both were likely long shots. Now, he'll need to go with a safe pick from this point forward. Whomever he brings in now knows he's No. 3. He has to accept that he wasn't the first or even second choice. Some coaches may not want that tag; others may not care. Certainly, coaches at a lower level -- like Winthrop's Gregg Marshall -- would jump at the chance to be in the ACC, regardless of the pecking order.
4/13/2006 3:04:29 PM
Is Billy Gillespie out of the picture? I think he is a bad-ass.
4/13/2006 3:09:51 PM
that article mayyyyyy just be in reference to someone no one has mentioned AT ALLRob Jeter
4/13/2006 3:11:51 PM
its definetly about haith
4/13/2006 5:05:58 PM
i was thinknig Doh when i was reading it, just because of the way it was presented. the only thing that was steering away from it being Doh was the part about being at a big school right now.
4/13/2006 5:46:56 PM
no way we would hire a guy with a carolina pedigree, even if they hate him in chapel hill
4/13/2006 5:47:56 PM
hahah why would anyone in their right mind coach at state after the way you children acted over sendek?state is fuuuuuuuuucked
4/13/2006 8:35:03 PM
$2 million a year does a lot of persuasion. taking a job for that amount with Lee Fowler as the AD would allow a person to ride this program into the ground and make a fortune in the process.
4/13/2006 8:39:31 PM
Kinda like Indy is fucked.wait, they got Sampson, I forgot. sorry.
4/13/2006 8:40:55 PM
Give me Fraink Haith
4/13/2006 8:41:00 PM
bumped so fuckers stop making new threads.
4/14/2006 12:53:20 AM
i'd like for them to go after mark few. i know he signed a contract extension but big deal.for that guy who doesn't know
4/14/2006 12:57:04 AM
i dunno about few
4/14/2006 12:59:55 AM
no way.can we get someone who could recruit on the east coast?
4/14/2006 1:01:29 AM
i wouldnt mind seeing bobby knight
4/14/2006 1:04:51 AM
there's no sure choke like gonzaga[Edited on April 14, 2006 at 1:11 AM. Reason : well, maybe a sendek-coached team]
4/14/2006 1:11:26 AM
Ok, I used to see this guy talked about while herb was still here, but I havent really seen him as a possible candidate. But what about John Beilein? He basically lost his whole team at WVU, pittsnogle gone, gansey (i think) gone, and his son graduating, he might think about coming to more money and talent. Not sure what the PP guys would say, because his offense is vaugely similar to herb's, but I think he should be in consideration.
4/14/2006 1:17:30 AM
new coach:Chuck Norris.
4/14/2006 1:20:02 AM
live by the 3 die by the 3, long scoring droughts, shitty post play, second rate recruits, slow white players, slow game. will take 5 minutes for other ACC teams to put two and two together and break out the herb sendek game plan -- deny the 3 and win
4/14/2006 1:20:06 AM
for my first sports talk post...i will agree subtotal and go with Chuck Norris as our new coach
