weight could also win those key draws that staal cant do quite yet
3/6/2006 12:52:49 AM
i dont understand all the enthusiasm about johnson coming in for the playoffs. why do we want some rookie getting the ultimate trial by fire. Who knows if it would affect team chemistry as well.
3/6/2006 1:05:03 AM
sucks what happened to cole, heard hes out for the season...gay
3/6/2006 1:13:36 AM
^ Estimates are 6-8 weeks, which means he'll be out until the end of the REGULAR season. With that said, Cole is a hockey player, and a tough one at that. I won't be surprised if he's back to hard skating within a month.^^ 1. He's an extra body.2. He's big and mean, which is a HUGE asset in the playoffs. We have some big guys, and we have some mean guys, but we don't have a total package.3. His shot is like death.^^^ Weight is up and down on faceoffs. The past few nights he's been 55-65%, but Lavi is also giving all the tough draws to Brind'Amour. Weight has just as many nights where he's under 50% on draws as nights where he's over.[Edited on March 6, 2006 at 1:16 AM. Reason : d]

Hockeys Future also mentioned in their latest Hurricanes NCAA prospects report that Johnson is likely to sign as soon as Michigan wraps up its season.By the way, a win tonight would tie the franchise wins record. [Edited on March 6, 2006 at 12:18 PM. Reason : ...]

Any word on a suspension for that Orpik fucktard?
3/6/2006 1:10:01 PM
Staal was named offensive player of the week.
3/6/2006 1:13:09 PM
orpik claims the hit wasnt dirty he says hes watched the replay over and over and he did cole a favor by not "finishing him" cole will kick his ass but its going to have to wait till next season
3/6/2006 1:42:33 PM
^yes, did cole a favor.
3/6/2006 2:14:54 PM
I hope orpik gets traded to a team in playoff contention so we can take care of him in the playoffs. Or at least a team we get to play again this season...
3/6/2006 4:08:51 PM
I didn't see the game or the hit, but from the pictures that looks like a pretty bad move to me]
3/6/2006 4:24:49 PM
Orpik has been suspended for 3 games.
3/6/2006 6:00:43 PM
that more than makes up for the 6-8 weeks we'll lose Cole for
3/6/2006 6:22:45 PM
no suspension to a bust of a defenseman to a 30th place AHL caliber team would make up for the loss of Erik Cole. Its really a formality, I think its more of a punishment to play for the Penguins than to be suspended
3/6/2006 6:39:20 PM
[feeler troll]watch this spot...
3/6/2006 6:50:32 PM
what a penalty kill
3/6/2006 7:21:49 PM

3/6/2006 7:32:49 PM
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL!!!!!
3/6/2006 7:37:25 PM
adams scorebe nice our first line would get a goal
3/6/2006 7:37:38 PM
I love when Andrew Ladd plays his game
3/6/2006 7:53:27 PM
Does anyone want to buy playoff tickets in advance at face value? I can get a few more but I want to mail in the package by weds at the latest. The system sucks b/c u have to pay for all potential games and then worry about a refund later, but all the details are on ch.com but Im happy to help out some ppl on the board.
3/6/2006 7:53:33 PM
Does anyone have any idea of how difficult it will be to buy individual playoff tickets after all of the season ticket/mini plan/Subway stretch pack folks have bought their strips? I know it's hard to predict the future, but maybe someone remembers how tough it was in the past. I imagine it will be more difficult this year since they are having their best season ever.
3/6/2006 8:06:06 PM
yesssur, 2-0
3/6/2006 8:10:03 PM
thats why i am offering to help board members buy strips
3/6/2006 8:10:19 PM
who scored?
3/6/2006 8:22:35 PM
adams and williams
3/6/2006 8:40:19 PM
Ruccin!** Ideally both teams get a point and Rangers win in OT for me... since the Canes are my #2 team...[Edited on March 6, 2006 at 8:57 PM. Reason : f]
3/6/2006 8:52:12 PM
BITCH, score a goal line1 plz.
3/6/2006 9:11:55 PM
Apparently Gerber is so awesome that he can allow a goal and still get a shutout. The Hurricanes website headline is "GERBER GETS 4TH SHUTOUT" and NHL.com has him as the #2 star of the night with 0 goals allowed. I guess Steve Rucchin will be pissed.
3/6/2006 11:56:35 PM
i noticed that and was like, wtf? i thought there was some hockey technicality that he got off on, haha
3/7/2006 12:44:59 AM
^^ He did it in the Olympics. Rick Nash scored and they didn't count it.Gerber was a WALL in the third. Canes were outshot 17-0 and held on thanks to Tinu.
3/7/2006 1:31:42 AM
we back. taking a 5 game streak to philly, will definitely be a tough one
3/8/2006 1:57:27 PM
did we forget we're playing tonight...oh and 1-0 Canes!
3/8/2006 7:14:07 PM
GERBER SAYS NO
3/8/2006 7:27:11 PM

3/8/2006 7:40:20 PM
Cheeseburger with the goal 1-1
3/8/2006 8:06:52 PM
Weight off the crossbar. He's getting close.
3/8/2006 8:17:24 PM
WEIGHT YOU SUCK
3/8/2006 8:24:42 PM
Stopped on a breakaway ahhhhhh
3/8/2006 8:24:51 PM
3rd line scores
3/8/2006 8:26:38 PM

3/8/2006 9:03:32 PM

3/8/2006 9:07:22 PM

3/8/2006 9:19:03 PM
You've got to be shitting me.
3/8/2006 9:19:41 PM
HOLY LORD
3/8/2006 9:19:42 PM
Scoring with .6 left in the game...man that sucks. This 4 on 4 is making me tense.Shootout! And Cole is usually our #1 or #2 shootout person [Edited on March 8, 2006 at 9:30 PM. Reason : SO]
3/8/2006 9:25:42 PM
again, HOLY LORD
3/8/2006 9:30:04 PM
