Texas and ‘Bama should be in over FSU.
12/2/2023 7:36:36 PM
FSU was ranked 4. They aren't dropping down with a win against a ranked louisville.
12/2/2023 7:37:02 PM
FSU better win convincingly
12/2/2023 7:40:52 PM
Wild would be fsu and Michigan lose…Then maybe you get Washington, Texas, bama and Georgia. I think Michigan rolls. I do think if fsu struggles they are out. The ACC as we know it is toast at some point but fsu going undefeated and being left out will speed up that process for sure.

12/2/2023 8:00:32 PM
No scenario where Georgia gets in, which is crazy. Same with Ohio State. Even if Michigan loses they are in. It all hinges on Louisville and FSU, if the Seminoles lose that opens the door for Texas and Bama. The wild scenario is if FSU wins convincingly. Then we’ve got Washington, Michigan, FSU and Texas in, without the SEC champion who beat the two time reigning champ in the conference championship game. What an amazing year this would’ve been to have an 8 team playoff:Washington, Michigan, FSU, Bama, Texas, OSU, Georgia, Oregon
12/2/2023 8:13:42 PM
True, FSU should get a nice boost if they beat this strong Louisville team fresh off their… loss to Kentucky.
12/2/2023 8:16:28 PM
I mean…what’s UGa’s best win? Mizzou?
12/2/2023 8:21:46 PM
Common watch the games. Are you suggesting somehow a win over a down UGA team?
12/2/2023 8:24:33 PM
If FSU wins they are undefeated in a power 5 with a conference championship and a win over LSU, if they didn’t get in the ACC would have the same credibility as the fucking MAC
12/2/2023 8:31:34 PM
12/2/2023 8:34:08 PM
^^ you know who also has a win over LSU ..My comment was more at the SEC being down. Well a bad team in a down SEC beat the ACC second best team? My point is really there is enough meat on the bone to keep fsu out. They better win by 30.
12/2/2023 8:38:08 PM
What’s the meat on the bone if they’re undefeated? Is the only reason that their QB is hurt?
12/2/2023 9:15:05 PM
After watching UGA v ‘Bama this is now like watching a JV game. Both those teams would beat fsu by 20+
12/2/2023 9:24:53 PM
I don’t disagree that FSU without Travis is not a better team than UGA, OSU, Oregon, but they stayed undefeated after winning a rivalry game vs Florida and the ACC championship without their Heisman candidate QB. The committee can’t keep them out as an undefeated power 5 conference champ, no matter what the eye test says…in my opinion at least, just sets a terrible precedent[Edited on December 2, 2023 at 9:31 PM. Reason : All based on them winning tonight][Edited on December 2, 2023 at 9:33 PM. Reason : Qb]
12/2/2023 9:31:04 PM
^^^^agree
12/2/2023 9:31:44 PM
12/2/2023 9:36:48 PM
Who cares about the precedent? It all changes next year anyway. The rules aren’t undefeated teams get in. It’s the best 4 teams. FSU isn’t one of them especially without their QB.
12/2/2023 9:37:58 PM
Double post comingLouisville is average. They aren’t good. Can’t say the SEC is down, then say Louisville is good after they just lost to Kentucky. Which is it?
12/2/2023 9:39:52 PM
Those aren’t the rules. If those were the rules Cincy wouldn’t make it last year.I can say that Louisville is good. Because they are. Clearly! They lost to Kentucky which is a single bad result in an otherwise good season for them. Both can be true! The SEC is objectively worse this year than other years, that is also true. I’m not saying the SEC is CUSA. It’s still good! It’s just worse than usual. Put it this way. The committee thinks Louisville is good. They’re ranked 14! The committee also thinks LSU is good. They are ranked 13! Those would be very good results for FSU. To go along with their win over 23rd Clemson. And their…0 losses![Edited on December 2, 2023 at 9:43 PM. Reason : a]

12/2/2023 9:47:40 PM
We’ll see, man. Nothing else left to really argue. We’ll just see what the committee does. You’re right. No fsu win as good as cincy’s win over ND. But their SOS on the whole is still way better for whatever that matters. Just depends what the committee values. [Edited on December 2, 2023 at 9:55 PM. Reason : A]

The CFP will be fun regardless but having non-CFP matchups between UGA, OSU, Oregon, FSU/Bama will be amazing[Edited on December 2, 2023 at 10:18 PM. Reason : Fhhe]
12/2/2023 10:03:18 PM
Bama is getting in over Texas. I don't care who won the head to head matchup. The SEC champ is getting in over the Big XII champ.
12/2/2023 10:30:26 PM
I don’t see any rational justification for that.
12/2/2023 10:42:17 PM
Texas- Beat Bama head to head (in September)- Won the Big XII championshipBama- Won a better conference championship- Only loss to a 1-loss Texas team- Beat the #1 team in the nationWhoever gets in, there is certainly a rational justification for them to get in over Texas
12/2/2023 10:59:01 PM
In my opinion head to head has to matter. Whether it’s in September or November, Texas won at Alabama. That has to count. Its way too circular (to me) to be like “Bama lost to Texas which is actually a really quality loss since Texas beat Bama”. To me the most straightforward way to do it is MichiganWashingtonTexasFSU (assuming they hang on)3 undefeated power conference champs. Easy, they’re all in. And Texas beat Bama, both won their conference. Texas is in over Bama. Anything else is just too convoluted and is harder for the committee to justify. I do think Bama would legitimately have a gripe if they don’t get in in that scenario. But there’s always gonna be somebody that feels like they get screwed. But yeah we’re just arguing what we think other people will decide. It’s a useless argument.[Edited on December 2, 2023 at 11:15 PM. Reason : A]
12/2/2023 11:14:29 PM
I'd love to see the SEC get left out, I just don't expect it to happen
12/2/2023 11:15:35 PM
It would be sweet
12/2/2023 11:16:01 PM
Also. I think one thing getting lost in the grossness of FSU’s offense is 1) pretty sure Rodemaker would be playing in the bowl game/playoff. So this version of FSU isn’t exactly what you’d be putting on the field in a month. And 2) their defense looks fucking awesome.
12/2/2023 11:17:57 PM
The more important thing is Louisville is getting DOMINATED, should prob drop them out of the top 20
12/2/2023 11:24:20 PM
You hate to see FSU make it to the CFP in a year that they didn't play us, thanks to the stupid conference realignment.
12/2/2023 11:24:36 PM
^^the ultimate thing would be undefeated fsu falling out of the CFP and taking the Orange while UL drops below us
12/2/2023 11:35:46 PM
Gonna laugh my ass off about all this dumbass talk when FSU ends up the goddamn 3 seed.
12/2/2023 11:36:42 PM
Plummer is so ass
12/2/2023 11:37:14 PM
I think we can all agree georgia and alabama should be in the playoff, over fsu
12/3/2023 12:56:55 AM
No, troll, we cannot.FSU held the 14th ranked team without a touchdown. Elite.
12/3/2023 1:07:16 AM
He has a good point, FSU doesn't have the quality losses that Georgia and Alabama have
12/3/2023 1:16:17 AM
Ok perhaps not all[Edited on December 3, 2023 at 1:24 AM. Reason : But most]
12/3/2023 1:22:52 AM
It's cool that you're falling for the bait that ESPN put out to drive views/clicks about how FSU doesn't belong and this is completely unprecedented. But it's not. FSU is securely in the field. Just like Michigan and Washington. There's a debate about the final spot, but it's between Texas/Bama/Georgia.Texas only has the Alabama and Ok State wins. No other ranked victories. UGA beat Mizzou/Ole Miss/Tenn. Bama beat Ole Miss/Tenn/LSU/UGa. Alabama has the best body of work. Texas has the "worst" loss of these one loss teams. Bama has the best wins. Head to head doesn't count for a whole lot when comparing entire resumes AND multiple teamsTexas and FSU both have 2 wins over ranked CFP teams. There's no comparison tho because FSU has zero losses. It would be hilarious for Alabama to have cost the SEC a playoff spot, but i don't see it happening. Neither Georgia's nor Texas's resumes are impressive enough for them to get in over any of the undefeated teams or Alabama and the strength of their wins. ]
12/3/2023 1:50:57 AM
FSU shoulda lost last night to add a quality L to their resume. Would’ve helped their case
12/3/2023 7:47:54 AM
Haha. Some loss adversity could have helped them prepare for the playoffs.Looking forward to:1. UM2. UW3. FSU4: BAMA
12/3/2023 8:27:08 AM
I kinda think Washington should be 1. Wins over Oregon (x2), Arizona, Oregon State are all pretty impressive. Mich win over Ohio State is super impressive. Penn State win is also good but…after that I guess Iowa is their next best win? And then a buncha wins over OOC cupcakes and bottom feeder B1G teams. That said, I don’t know that they will be 1. Would be hard for them to jump Michigan. [Edited on December 3, 2023 at 9:08 AM. Reason : A]
12/3/2023 9:07:30 AM
Early #sources place ncsu against Georgia in the orange bowl.
12/3/2023 10:19:51 AM
I don’t believe any #sources on this since it 100% comes down to how the committee ranks everything. And I doubt there’s any leaks coming out of that room at this point.
12/3/2023 10:56:57 AM
Wrong thread.[Edited on December 3, 2023 at 11:03 AM. Reason : Ban me]
12/3/2023 11:03:02 AM
We're gonna go to the orange bowl because we're gonna jump both Louisville AND Florida State. The committee knows they're both frauds
12/3/2023 11:43:59 AM
Well no in that case we'd go to the playoffs BABYYYYY. National championship bound!
12/3/2023 12:15:23 PM
No we're gonna be #5
12/3/2023 12:20:49 PM
If we’re 5 then the whole damn thing is rigged!!!!
