The Hornets are doing the thing they should have done a decade ago...actually bottom out and get a top pick. It's the only way to win in this league if you aren't a free-agent destination. You are going nowhere by barely qualifying for the play-in game every year. We are shipping out all our assets and collecting picks. It's the first smart front office in Charlotte since I have been alive.

Hayward was going to free up $30M in cap space if we just let his contract expire in 2 monthsAnd we got a top-2 protected 1st rounder in the deal with Dallas. Grant Williams is basically a poor man's PJ Washington. That mid first pick will be nice. [Edited on February 8, 2024 at 4:05 PM. Reason : . ]

Grant Williams is fine as defensive guy off the bench who can hit an open corner 3. But that's about all he is. He isn't going to get transition buckets, he isn't going to get rebounds. A first rounder is nice, but i can't imagine a team with prime doncic being close to the lottery so that 2027(so far away!) pick isn't all that great imo. He and Washington are the same age and i think Washington is demonstrably better. I guess if they're gonna tank they can start Williams food multiple years since he's signed for 3 more years! Then i guess their lottery pick in 2027 will pair well with a late round pick from the mavs. Gonna be a lot of shitty basketball between now and then.Just send odd to me to bail on Washington are this point when the return is a 1st round pick 3 years away and a guy that is being traded away from a team only months after signing with them (and months after his drafting team didn't think he was worth the price to re-sign him)]

the Hornets did waive James Bouknight, so that right there is a A++ move
2/8/2024 8:58:48 PM
And traded for a guy they could have just drafted instead of bouknight!
2/9/2024 1:14:31 AM
Steph Curry still rules
2/10/2024 11:13:52 PM
Wimby has lots of blocks
2/13/2024 8:08:19 PM
Yeah he's definitely going to win ROY over Chit

Rising stars is entertaining at first I thought it wasn't fair having g leaguers vs high level youngsters, but g league team plays hungry!
2/16/2024 10:58:50 PM
of course Victor and Miller blow it to some G Leaguers
2/16/2024 11:02:35 PM
Funny that these judges are out here so somber like the weight of this responsibility weighs heavy. Get some judges that want to have fun![Edited on February 17, 2024 at 10:42 PM. Reason : Lol they didn't show Browns dunk live ]
2/17/2024 10:39:36 PM
I don't like how they all give scores on a 1-50 range and average them, rather than all judges giving a score out of 1-10 and adding them up.
2/17/2024 10:42:54 PM
Lets get the likert scale up in here

2/17/2024 10:47:13 PM
the lighting/court has some cool aspects but having the entire crowd in the dark didn't seem to help the atmosphere. or maybe it was just that Indiana people are dumb. or that the judges were too old. Mac had a couple nice dunks but the contest as a whole wasn't great.
2/17/2024 11:00:34 PM
I think they made the crowd dark in the past too. Helps hide that most of them look like bored
2/17/2024 11:03:41 PM
I dunno, I thought I remember seeing most dunks from previous contests in slo-mo and well-lit. I thought they did it tonight to show off the court technology but also to help with sight lines since it's a football stadium
2/17/2024 11:06:07 PM

Oh that's weird that they're having the stuff today at a different place than the actual all star game. I guess they did that because of that goofy ass court???I did not watch because i am a true NC State fan and watched a quad 1 win baby!!!]

I accept your apology

I don't think you could pay me to go sit 5 miles away from the court in a football stadium to watch that shitThink of how many people they could fit if they put the court in the middle of a super speedway!!!]

LeBron says he wants to end career with Lakers (no surprise there), so that pretty much means they will absolutely draft Bronny this year, despite the fact that he's averaging 5.7 points 2.9 rebounds 2.6 assists 1.2 turnovers. Shooting 36.5% from the field, 27.5% from 3 and 62% from the line. If he wasn't Lebron's kid he wouldn't even get a g league tryout. Wonder if they'll spend a first round pick on him to prevent another team from trying to draft him??
2/18/2024 8:22:49 PM
Can’t he just go undrafted and the lakers sign him?
2/18/2024 8:28:03 PM
Bronny can't be any worse than Thanasis
2/18/2024 8:37:55 PM
Debatable. Thanasis is on a minimum deal. If the Lakers draft Bronny in the first round, he'd be making about double that AND it would be guaranteed for at least 2 years. Plus they didn't spend draft capital on him, so there's no opportunity cost there.I think there's a very real possibility he could be just as bad (his shooting numbers in college are atrocious for a guard and he didn't exactly light up high school) and with a much worse contract.Honestly i kind of feel bad for him because teams will tell him they'll draft him even though he should absolutely stay in college. But they all want to make his dad happy, so they'll lie to this kid. He'll wash out of the league as soon as LeBron retires and then what?]
2/18/2024 8:50:15 PM
Thanasis is making $2.3M this year. IF the Lakers draft Bronny in the 1st round, which is quite a stretch, he'd be making somewhere in the $3.5M a year range depending on what pick the Lakers have. He wouldn't prevent them from signing other players.Bronny is basically putting up sophomore Casey Morsell statsalso, it appears the Lakers don't even have a 1st round pick, so it's pretty safe to say they won't be drafting Bronny in the 1st round[Edited on February 18, 2024 at 9:10 PM. Reason : .]
2/18/2024 8:56:54 PM
I kind of figured he’d stay in college at least another year. Why is it such a forgone conclusion he is going pro this year?
2/18/2024 9:14:42 PM
Because LeBron wants to play with him. There has been a lot of scuttlebutt lately about the Lakers drafting him to keep LeBron happy.^^yes, Thanasis is making the NBA minimum for a player with his years of service. And just because they don't currently have a first round pick doesn't mean that they wouldn't trade for one.
2/18/2024 9:40:21 PM
I mean technically they could trade for five different 1st round picks. Doesn't mean they will.
2/18/2024 9:55:53 PM
if LeBron wants to play with both of his kids, he's gonna need to be in the league at least a few more years since Bryce won't be draft eligible until 2026
2/18/2024 10:31:33 PM
Maybe he hates Bryce
2/19/2024 1:04:37 AM
What should nba all star basketball final game score be?
2/19/2024 7:44:32 PM
I'd like to see something where the 1st half is nothing but alley oops and halfcourt shots and essentially a dunk contest with the best players in the league. Then at halftime, reset the score, and for the 2nd half have them actually play meaningful ball. Give every player on the winning team $1 million or something like that to incentivize them.
2/19/2024 7:58:08 PM
It's funny to see people complaining about the lack of defense in the all star game, especially considering the lack of defense in nearly every NBA regular season game
2/19/2024 8:14:04 PM
I would like perhaps a cumulative total of say 290 give or take like 10. Or maybe west was just trying to build a house idk
2/19/2024 8:39:31 PM
it's funny to see people complain about the lack of defense in any all star game in any sport]
2/19/2024 9:54:57 PM
Fine i will complain about the rigged dunk contest
2/20/2024 11:28:59 AM
^^ I can't recall a recent MLB all star game with excessive fielding errors.
2/20/2024 4:36:27 PM
ok, any all star game that doesn't have actual implications, so not the MLB ASG with home field in the WS
2/20/2024 5:25:48 PM
Is this an accurate portrayal to really appreciate wimby?[Edited on February 26, 2024 at 7:51 PM. Reason : —!>]
2/26/2024 7:43:24 PM
Probably. Though the league didn't keep track of Blocks and Steals until the mid 1970s so Wilt probably did it as well.
2/26/2024 7:46:41 PM
Can’t they reverse engineer those games by now? I thought I have seen several of his games statified. So he led in 6 bot 4?
