I can’t fathom being so confident/wrong and still going the extra mile to post how wrong I amLue vastly overachieved given the circumstances there is no argument otherwise
4/16/2022 1:26:24 AM
Nah. The Pels aren't a good team at all. Missing the playoffs with a team that went to WCF last is absolutely underachieving. You LA/Lebron apologists are something else...
4/16/2022 1:29:47 AM
You do realize that the team that made the WCF last year had Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, and this year's team didn't? Brandon Ingram and CJ McCollum are better than Reggie Jackson and Norman Powell.
4/16/2022 1:34:29 AM
the Pelicans were Top 10 in both offense and defense since the All Star Break/adding McCollum
4/16/2022 1:34:44 AM
The Pelicans will probably get swept by Phoenix, but OK.You're right guys. The Lakers slightly underachieved, but it's not Lebron's fault. And the Clips slightly overachieved by losing two games in a row and not even making the playoffs.:ok:
4/16/2022 1:46:16 AM
you know that Paul George didn’t play tonight, right?
4/16/2022 1:55:27 AM
I had no idea!!! Totally explains everything!!! Kinda like how the Warriors lost 4/5 staters when they lost to the Raptors in 6 3 years ago, amirite?!?But I also I know that good coaches (especially ones that are supposedly the best in the NBA) know how to make adjustments and actually beat teams that have losing records to make their way in the playoffs, as opposed to blowing 4th quarter leads.
4/16/2022 2:05:02 AM
didn't muh Dubs lose in the play-in tournament last year? I didn't realize you don't think Kerr is a good coach.
4/16/2022 2:07:31 AM
Weird straw man/red herring, but Kerr is definitely a better coach and he has the hardware to prove it.
4/16/2022 2:14:23 AM
I’m just gonna assume dude has some sort of Ted Cruz-esque kink of being loudly wrong all the time
4/16/2022 2:15:01 AM
Huh? What am I wrong about here again? I never made the claim that Lue was one of the best coaches in the league, Tree did. All I did was point out that losing two winnable play-in games belies the argument, yet here you are arguing what exactly again? Let's not even get into the disaster that was the Lakers season which you have been eerily quiet about, despite being one of the biggest Lebron apologists on this board. I mean I wouldn't say much either because you have no valid defense of his shitty micromanagement decisions that totally failed from the jump. How many coaches has he gotten fired during his career? I think they "Lebron has never had any help and has to carry the team" argument died a long ass time ago, but maybe you still want to die on that hill, for the same reasons you make excuses for Kanye I'm sorry you're a fan of players and not teams, because all the old ass players from the 00s (minus Iggy!) you stan for aren't going to be in the actual post season. Too bad about Tiger too, man!
4/16/2022 2:28:18 AM
4/16/2022 2:31:57 AM
Lue is one of the best coaches in the league because he coached his team that played without their best player for the entire season and missed their second best player for more than half of the season to a winning record he lost tonight because Paul George was unable to play, against a team who has been good since they acquired an All Star in CJ McCollum

4/16/2022 2:54:12 AM
Dude, you made the claim Lue was one of the best coaches in the league, not me. I am fully aware that injuries happen-- acutely so given 2016 and 2019.

Pels took a game 2 on the road?! Guess that series is OVER!I'd love nothing more than to face MN next round and NOLA in the WCF to have home court throughout the playoffs, making it a much easier path to the Finals. Which path do the Clippers have again? Oh right-- didn't even get past the play-in. Guess Ty Lue can do it from the couch playing NBA 22k Curry scoring 36 pts in 22 mins should be much more worthy of discussion, but yeah, let's talk about LA some more. Do you think Lebron will get his wish and hire Mark Jackson !?!?
4/20/2022 11:12:29 AM
LMAO like it even matters who wins the West
4/20/2022 11:35:46 AM
^I def think Boston would be a tough match up and they're the team I'd want to face the least in the Finals , but so would Miami, Milwaukee, Brooklyn (would be an EPIC series), and even Philly.I'm not at all expecting a chip this year for muh dubs, personally. A WCF appearance would be very satisfying and even making the Finals would be vastly overachieving. I've said before that I'm afraid of Memphis because I don't like that matchup for the Ws at all, so hoping that series with the Wolves goes 7 and that the Ws can finish off Denver early and rest. This is the first year in a long time where so many teams have a legit shot at the title, and that's good for basketball and fans.

Do you think Monty Williams is an elite coach?Do you think Steve Kerr is an elite coach? If the Pelicans had lost that play in game would you have bumped this thread?
4/20/2022 1:36:00 PM
4/20/2022 2:42:13 PM
Phoenix (with a healthy Booker) would probably beat all of those teams
4/20/2022 2:54:17 PM
other than the Booker injury, I don’t see any reason for the Suns to not be the favorite all things being equal, they’re the best team in the NBA
4/20/2022 2:55:46 PM
Literally naming over half the East as teams that would be tough to face lol
4/20/2022 3:46:10 PM
Especially since that was Justins entire point

Steve Kerr, 3 rings, probably in the top 1/3 of nba coaches....I feel like I want to see your 1-30 coach ranking now, should be fascinating
4/20/2022 4:39:18 PM
How about you go first since you clearly care so much about this super important topic (arguing about elite coaches who didn't even make the playin).
4/20/2022 5:26:30 PM
when Steve Kerr didn't even make the playoffs last year, was that because he is a bad coach?
4/20/2022 6:41:46 PM
^^I don't really have a ranking I'm just curious of yoursNot immediately calling Kerr elite feels like a weird kind of opposite homerism.
4/20/2022 7:18:29 PM
Brooklyn is done

Suns ain't gonna win shit with ol nut punch
4/21/2022 12:15:19 AM
When did Kyrie become a muslim? Was it before or after the flat-earth thing? No, I don't follow the NBA all that closely.
4/21/2022 11:54:01 AM
I'm tempted to LMGTFY you, but looks like about a year ago?
4/21/2022 12:25:23 PM
Yes, I could easily search it... but i really enjoy conversing with you guys!I know it's "faith", but I find it quite silly that a professional athlete would fast all day (food and water) before playing a [playoff] game. Really seems like it would affect his game (and yes, I know some have done it in the past, including Kareem & Hakeem)
4/21/2022 12:45:01 PM
not the greatest look to question someone else’s faith, especially during Ramadanyou may wanna read a game recap of Game 1 from last Sunday, too[Edited on April 21, 2022 at 12:55 PM. Reason : .]

Soccer is dumb as hell. JUST STOP THE CLOCK
4/21/2022 1:07:23 PM
I also questioned someone's Christian faith on Easter Sunday. But they were stuffing themselves with ham instead of fasting. Just seems that it would be hard to perform at the highest level after not eating/drinking all day (yes, I know he had a good Game 1). I also question the faith of flat-earthers.
4/21/2022 1:23:25 PM
I don't think fasting from sunrise to sunset is all that wild. And it's not like the Nets were playing a day game so he couldn't even drink water during a whole game. The game was what, a 7:00 start time (probably later than that due to TV) and sunset was officially at like 7:30ish so he only had like 20 minutes to deal with.
4/21/2022 1:55:43 PM
Kenny Smith was saying that Olajuwon played better when he was fasting, and attributed it to being able to focus more on the game, as you weren't focused on what you were eating for your next meal.
4/21/2022 2:28:40 PM
shoutout to questioning someone’s faith, calling it silly while repeatedly admitting that some of the greatest athletes of all time succeeded greatly while doing the same thing, and weirdly deflecting to Eastergreat couple of posts
4/21/2022 4:03:14 PM
Religion is silly and can be dangerous, regardless of the flavor. Just because successful people are religious doesn't make it any less silly. I doubt you'd be this upset if this was about Russel Wilson or Tim Tebow's faith. And Kyrie was kook before his conversion.
4/21/2022 5:33:06 PM
not gonna judge anyone for honestly observing whatever religion they want to observe, as long as it doesn’t affect anyone who doesn’t observe people made the same argument you made against Ali, and that dude stuck to it for 50+ years you named two athletes who proselytize, which is completely different from athletes observing religious holidays
