Yeah, not much to say about those last two picks other than in Gettleman we trust. We knew this was a pretty shitty draft talent wise once you got out of the top 10, so it's really about getting the guys we like and developing them.

So unless we trade again, we're looking at a DT, 2 corners and whoever we get in the 5th and 7th. Probably like a running back and an offensive lineman.

I've got to think one of these guys is going to be playing safety, right? Or maybe Peanut moves to safety.

[Edited on April 30, 2016 at 2:31 PM. Reason : Actually it looks like Tillman is a FA. This many CBs makes sense if we aren't bringing him back]

One of the first two either played safety or his coaches wanted him to or something, so I'm guessing maybe gettleman thinks the same

Overall I'm happy with the draft.

It looks like that dt will be good so I'm satisfied with him if he didn't like the other pass rushers. Honestly you're right it's unlikely theyd be more impactful than delaire or Addison the first year anyway.

I like that we took several cb and can see who develops the best. They can't be worse than McClain. Also I like the tight end project.

My guess is that one cb gets in the rotation, one plays sparingly and one makes practice squad. I could definitely see us bringing in someone who gets cut from another roster to replace one of them in the mix.

I do like Boykin and bene so we aren't that weak at corner assuming one guy emerges.

Hoping we have a udfa rb in mind that we can add to practice squad too. I don't have much faith in stewart lasting another year

From what I've read, one of the DBs is really good in zone coverage, another is physical and good at the line as well, and another might not be great at anything but is good at everything and has experience against some current NFL wideouts. So yeah, they'll have their roles.

I'm a little disappointed we didn't draft another tackle to compete with Oher/Remmers but I guess the talent just wasn't there. I'm confident we can field a competent secondary from the guys we're bringing back and the draft picks. I think offensive line and especially the tackle position is the closest to being a total disaster, especially if the injury bug strikes. However, if they can at least repeat last year's performance, there's no reason this team can't win 12+ games again.

We drafted williams last year and he was solid in the preseason so i doubt wed find anyone better than him where we were drafting. And you can still get immediate impact dt and cb where we took them

Oher and remmers were good last year we weren't gonna find anyone that could take their jobs that late.

My disappointment is this. If we didn't have a couple DEs pegged in the draft i would have liked to add a free agent. However, those guys really did get overpaid this offseason so I can see why we didnt.

The leftover cap space this year can be rolled into next season which keeps our window open a little longer perhaps though.

I actually like the strategy of waiting until midseason to try to trade for help as teams realize they stink and are looking to shed veterans. You also have a good idea of their current level of play and health after training camp and a few weeks that way. And which positions you truly need help.

I'm still confused with Cash, he was bring mocked in the 2nd round at one point, and now he goes undrafted?

I'm glad we snagged him though, the guy was good/productive in college.

I think he's just too slow period. The only 40 time I could find on him was 4.66 which is crawling for a 212 pounder. Not saying he can't play, but that will murder your draft stock and Gettleman was smart to wait him out.

Lets have an official Predictions on greg hardy contest just for fun.

1) Will Greg Hardy be signed to a roster ever again?

2) Will Greg Hardy play a down in the NFL ever again?

3) Will Greg Hardy be signed to a roster this year?

4) Will Greg Hardy record a sack this season?

Bonus:

What team, how many sacks this year, what date will he be signed?

I say yes to all 4.

I think he's signed by the Raiders on october 4th and has 4 sacks this year.

I feel like after someone loses a defensive end to injury surely they'll turn to him... this is crazy no one is willing to take him. I almost wonder if the nfl office has put some sort of blacklist on him.

Ray rice was done but greg hardy is a big time pass rusher. Does anyone really think his behavior was worse than Michael vick??

Green Bay could be a juggernaut next year with all their receivers healthy and an improved defense. I don't like Seattle's trajectory, they've lost more than they've gained over the past couple years. I think we're easily the class of the conference based on current roster projections.

Couldn't be further from the truth. We only had one close game winning by 3 or less and that was Indy OT. We also led the NFL in margin of victory by nearly 3 points. We had a +16.9 average home margin of victory and +5.6 in road games.

So yeah, we beat the absolute fuck out of teams last year and it was usually over way before crunch time.

Hmmmm, seems a bit premature to cut a guy at this point for purely football related reasons, especially considering it was to open spots for tryout players. I almost feel this is DG making a statement to people who criticized the move to release Norman and his draft. Whatever the reason, all three of those drafted corners will likely be shoved into a starting role at some point this season. I thought Bradberry was already pegged for the starting role opposite Benwikere, and now Sanchez figures to start at nickel.

Ok what in the fucking fuck is going on? Our secondary is now in shambles

I disagree with Seattle's trajectory. They were arguably the best team in the nfl last year and i can't think of anyone they lost this offseason who mattered last year? Ricardo Lockett and Marshawn Lynch and jr sweezy?

If graham and Rawls are healthy they should be the best team in the league in September . Not saying that will hold up as they're definitely an aging team but they've been very cohesive.

Has anyone whose left seattle had success anywhere else other than that wife fucking homewrecker?

Gettleman has really shit the bed this offseason imo.

I don't see how you can get away with this weak of a pass rush and a horrible secondary.

Late last season especially after we lost Tillman our defense fell apart in the 2nd half of games like the giants and seattle because we had terrible cover guys like McClain and finnegan and our pass rush would fall flat.

We blew our draft capital AND our free agency money on dt which was our strongest position.

Now we are weak at rb, de, cb, s... we've gotta pray our patchwork oline holds up another season. Benjamins knee holds up.... Olsen and davis are both old and played thru tons of injuries.... star wore down last year..

I can see why the 9 win projection is coming through.

I'm not doubting him for cutting boykin, I'm sure there was a great reason. This is really more of an indictment on what we thought was a great signing not panning out.

Also, I'm not really sure johnson has anything left in the tank. If i set the over / under on sacks for johnson at 5.5 and ealy at 6.5 would you take the over on either one??

Kuechly, cam, and short are going to all probably be top 2-3 at their position again i think everyone would agree... that makes us a competitive team no matter what but i don't like our supporting cast at all this year.

We really need one of those pass rushers to break out and one of those rookie cb to be good or we took at big step back this offseason. I do think we are set up nicely for the future.

Are you referring to the season we went 15-1?

This might be a good time to remind you that Gettleman has forgotten more football than you'll ever know.

But considering you've been hypercritical of our GM, the NFL executive of the year, since day 1 and you've always ended up with egg on your face afterwards why stop now? amirite?

You could have made this exact quote at the beginning of last season. There's no perfect rosters in the NFL, everyone has a weakness somewhere, it's about covering up your weaknesses with your strengths We did that last year, getting all the way to a Super Bowl with bargain bin trash at multiple starting positions. There's no way you can make the case we're in worse shape going into this offseason.

Well you're obviously way off there, I've been Gettlemans biggest fan club for 4 yeaes running.

Loved the star/short picks, liked kuechly, liked the cam deal, the Benjamin pick, etc.... I can't think of one think I've ever not said i agreed with including cutting steve smith...

I've praised him nonstop for getting unreal results despite hurney crippling deals.

Until this offseason where i really think he's done a terrible job. Terrible should have an asterisk because he hasn't done anything to make us worse off in the long term. No bad signings, no kicking the can, etc.

I just think when you lose a relatively close super bowl (yes the game was ugly but we certainly had a chance to win late) and the defending Champs lose a ton of important players and have some serious question marks..

I feel like a little bit of long term risk is acceptable for short term gains.

I think we are likely a worse team than we were last year. Would you agree with that? I expected us to be a better team considering we were getting benJamin back and didn't expect any key losses. And I figured a few vets might sign to chase a ring

We could easily be a better team than last year but finish with a worse record. I think that's exactly what will happen. We have a more explosive and dynamic offense this year with Benji and an improved Funchess, better offensive line chemistry, etc. But I doubt we go 15-1 because that's just fucking hard to do.

And Gettleman's job isn't to try and take risks for one season. It's to set us up for long term and consistent success. These young corners might get burnt this year more than our secondary did last year, but they could also be a legit butterstick defensive backfield in a season or two.

Well yeah obviously 15-1 is an enormous longshot. Making the super bowl is a longshot.

But i don't think we're a very good team right now. Do you think we end the regular season as a top 5 team?

I dont see us as a top 5 defense. I think we've dropped off a good bit there. Offense is the wildcard. I wouldn't be shocked if we finished anywhere from 5th to 15th

I'm a little concerned after seeing the super bowl that more teams are gonna just copy denver and take away our running game by adding an extra defender and force our receivers to win matchups.

Obviously having benjamin back helps a lot, but it wouldn't be shocking if ginn reverted. And no one is scared of fun chess or philly brown.

Remmers and oher really gave us a lot last year, but it wouldn't exactly be shocking if they can't do that again. They're both in contract years so at least we know they've got a hell of a lot of incentive.

Hoping we get some contributions from Shaq this year. I'm not expecting much out of those corners and i could see us playing shaq, davis, and kuechly together at times

^^lol you said yourself it was a close game, and Denver had the most talented defense in the league so most teams can't copy what they did. We win that game if Tolbert doesn't fumble twice, something he hadn't done the entire season, plain and simple.

We bring back what was the #1 offense in the league, the best linebacking corps in the league, and the best rotation of defensive tackles in the league. Oh, not to mention the reigning league MVP who should only continue to improve as a passer in a (finally) stable offense. I'll echo your concerns about the offensive line, I think it has the largest potential to ruin our season, but you're really overvaluing Josh Norman if you think we're dropping to 9 wins based on our current roster.
