I can't say I don't understand why they decided to dismiss him, I just hate his last offense went down like it did. Too many outstanding questions about what happened.

I'm disappointed that we couldn't have been dirty with something as petty as this. Jameis Winston did so much worse shit and Florida State did what they had to do to keep him on the field. Shad must be really unlikeable.

thats some UNC level plagiarism right there [Edited on September 30, 2015 at 5:08 PM. Reason : last page reference]

The rules are pretty clear. You can beat the fuck out of one bus driver per career. Apparently this event put his net fuckery over that of beating up one bus driver. It's simple math.
9/30/2015 5:08:08 PM
UNCCH* would give him an Outstanding Citizen award.

I'm wondering if when he was "at practice" today that it was just so they could drug test him and he came up positive. It's hard to believe he'd get kicked for something so minor and unsubstantiated.
9/30/2015 5:18:04 PM
I think he was on his 3rd strike. he had a moped ticket at the start of the year. They might have told him to stay off of the moped. I think South Carolina banned scooters. if it wasn't for BB guns and scooters.
9/30/2015 5:31:49 PM
I still can't believe mopeds are so popular with athletes. Back in my day, mopeds and scooters were gay as hell.
9/30/2015 5:44:19 PM
^well considering these guys aren't getting paid real currency then their options are a bit limited
9/30/2015 5:45:56 PM
Again, back in my day you'd walk instead of be seen on a moped.
9/30/2015 5:49:03 PM
in fear of being called gay?[Edited on September 30, 2015 at 6:02 PM. Reason : not real comfortable with yourself in your day, eh?]
9/30/2015 6:01:16 PM
This whole situation sucks for everyone involved. State loses one of it's RB's - although with Dayes/Samuels/Gallaspy we should be fine, and Shadrach loses his spot on the team. If he hadn't had any issues before then I don't think he'd even be suspended for this - one game tops - but when you consider that he keeps getting in trouble with these small, stupid things it becomes a distraction that Doeren needed to end.
9/30/2015 6:06:09 PM
^^ No, in fear of looking like a gaywad . I know everyone is all sensitive these days but there was a time when saying something was gay just meant stupid.
9/30/2015 6:33:57 PM
I've said before that I didnt think Shad shouldve been on the team. I was also really surprised that Doeren didnt push him out the door after last season. With that said, this being the straw that breaks the camels back is absurd to me. If he's still on the team before this, I can't see how he's not after it based on the story we have.
9/30/2015 6:36:02 PM
We'll be fine. If there was one place we could lose an impact starter, it's RB. Still feel bad for Shad though. Hopefully he gets his shit together, graduates, and gets a shot in the pros. He's got all the tools to be an NFL back. That said, it takes some work to be arrested this many times -- especially if you're a college athlete in a good program.Oh well. DAYES FOR HEISMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
9/30/2015 6:45:26 PM
Dayes/Samuel are bargains in DFS now
9/30/2015 6:46:59 PM
Wonder if we'll consider taking the redshirt off Frasier
9/30/2015 7:10:14 PM
God i hope not
9/30/2015 7:11:20 PM
Not a chance with RG2 and Nichols
9/30/2015 7:35:38 PM
Doubtful. Besides, DD said Frasier had been battling an ankle injury. So he's probably not doing much practice right now
9/30/2015 7:46:31 PM
Don't downplay this. We didn't just lose "one of our many rbs" We lost the best player on our entire team. We have tons of guys who can run, but none of them can run like him. Maybe this loss fires everyone up to rise to a collective higher than his value but as of now we are not the team we were yesterday.
9/30/2015 8:25:30 PM
Can you still transfer after being kicked off your team? Maybe he can transfer to Wisconsin
9/30/2015 8:28:24 PM
^^We did not lose a our best player. But we did lose our best RB and the only one who really thrives on contact
9/30/2015 8:37:09 PM
I actually think Dayes is a better RB as far as overall game...Thornton just had more YAContact and was so strong.Sucks but hopefully RGII replaces him.No point in burning Johnny's redshirt at all, that's dumb.
9/30/2015 8:49:46 PM
good news is we played 2 games already without him. and the back ups (Nichols, Gallaspy) have good game experience so far this season. we are used to playing without him at this point. but yeah, he's really good and it sucks he's not on the team anymore.
9/30/2015 8:52:11 PM
Dayes is awesome but Thornton had so much horsepower that he could really wear a defense out. Samuels is obviously good too but he can't really power run the way Thornton did. I would say that Dayes and Samuels were the brains while Thornton were the brawn so combine all three together and you have a dynamic backfield. I still can't fucking believe this shit, Fuckity Fuck.
9/30/2015 8:55:51 PM
Good, one less TOB recruit to sully DD's pristine program
9/30/2015 9:12:53 PM
Y'all are some sad fuckes. It's unfortunate that the police filed charges on heresay, but Thornton screwed up too many times.I give him a slight edge over Dayes talent-wise, but it's pretty damn close. Dayes has already scored 9 td's this season so give him the workload. Sure, it's been against inferior competition, but he's put in the work and deserves the lead role.
9/30/2015 9:33:33 PM
I agree^Also agree with what was said earlier that Dayes normally does the fancy work in the game to get us the lead and then Thornton is there with strong fresh legs to grind it out when we need it in the 4th quarter.Better SUIT UP RGII
9/30/2015 9:44:59 PM
Some random dude at the gym noticed I am a State fan and told me to watch out for mopeds tonight

LOL, this supposedly makes State and whatnot "look bad" for giving him too many opportunities.Shad is awesome, and I'm gonna miss him.
10/1/2015 9:17:44 AM
gnspbut seriously, this sucks. can't blame the staff, it had to be done from a PR standpoint, but seems like a weak charge. but of course, he shouldn't have been riding a moped on the sidewalk.
10/1/2015 9:19:50 AM
wait, there are people who think Dayes is better than Thornton?HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHIHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
10/1/2015 9:28:09 AM
His tweet gives me so many feels. Dayes and Shad are different backs. I don't think you can definitively say one is better than the other. Shad is more of a bruiser and can wear down a defense (which Dayes can't do, but hopefully Samuels and Gallaspy can help with). But Shad also didn't have breakaway speed. The long run against UNC where he got tackled inside the five...Dayes takes that to the house. The 77yd TD run Dayes had against South Alabama...Shad doesn't make that run.At the same time, it's not like Shad wasn't fast and shifty...just not to Dayes' level. And it's not like Dayes can't carry the workload and lower the shoulder...just not like Shad. Which is why they were a great combo. Let's just hope Samuels and Gallaspy can step it up and lessen the blow.

Great response by Shad. In his first public statement after all this nonsense he handled it with class. ^9, I disagree. I've seen a ton of positive press about how Doeren did what was necessary, not what was easy or best for his chances of winning. Even drew a lot of comparisons to the way Fedora is disciplining Malik Simmons (or rather NOT disciplining) which makes UNC look bad. Even seen some press giving Kudos to Doeren for not "giving up" on Shad.It really sucks considering the sketchy circumstances. Listening to sports radio this AM, they had on the reporter that did the interview with the kid and his mom. She basically said, "this kid didn't want attention or fame or anything..... let's just say this is a young man that lives at home with his mother and she is extremely protective of him." She all but directly said it was all the kid's Mom's doing.I don't like him being kicked off the team considering this whole incident sounds like BS, but I totally get it. It's justifiable considering the past incidents. Sucks for Shad, I hope he graduates and is able to continue his football career. [Edited on October 1, 2015 at 10:01 AM. Reason : .]
10/1/2015 9:57:27 AM
This sucks on so many levels. I get why he's gone, and I agree with the logic, but I don't have to like it.And I especially don't have to like how the final straw that broke the camels back was this incident and how it has played out so far. A huge part of what transpired Tuesday night and yesterday morning reeks of shady shit and ulterior motives. Fuck this Woodard kid and fuck his mom.
