Up 5-1, bottom of the 9th, 2 on, 1 out. Familia comes out to pitch. First batter strikes out, 2 down, 1 to go.First batter reaches on an infield single that probably should have been an out. Bases loaded.Second batter (8th in the lineup) walks. 5-2Third batter (9th in the lineup) walks. 5-3Then Manny Machado grounded out to end the game. For a moment there it felt like 2007 again.

that Yo Anus Cess Puduss is ok
8/21/2015 11:31:13 PM
Lol at this team the last few days, consistently proving that no lead, no matter how big, is ever safe.At least the bats are working. All 9 batters got up in the 3rd before the first out.[Edited on August 22, 2015 at 9:20 PM. Reason : -]

A season sweep of the Rockies, 5 games in first place, magic number down to 36, about to play the horrible Phillies, and David Wright returns tomorrow.Feeling good.
8/24/2015 12:16:59 AM
Just saw the lineup report and Wright is batting cleanup...does that make any sense for his first game back when he only hit singles during his rehab?
8/24/2015 4:28:13 PM
Never been happier to be wrong...Wright hit it out of the park for his first at-bat coming back.
8/24/2015 7:45:28 PM
Saw on twitter where the last two times Wright has come off the DL, his first game back was vs PHI and he homered in both games.
8/24/2015 8:33:47 PM
JuggerMetsFlores has been sick since he bawled..
8/24/2015 9:05:55 PM
Franchise record tied for HRs in a game at 7 and there are still 3 innings left to play.Last time was in 2005, also against Phillies. Also:
8/24/2015 9:28:43 PM
8 total homeruns. 49 runs scored in last 4 games...thank goodness considering we gave up 26. 2 months ago that would have been at least 3 losses.
8/25/2015 12:33:27 AM
every position player but tejada homered last night. unreal
8/25/2015 7:48:45 AM
Depth chart is ridiculous. Will be just plain filthy when Duda is back.
8/25/2015 1:10:41 PM
Cespedes HRs in the 1st, Syndergaard RBI double in the 2nd. offense picking right back up where they left off.
8/25/2015 8:04:24 PM
Mets win, Nats lose, 6.5 games up, magic number 31, Win% .556Remaining games:Red Sox (.452) x3Phillies (.394) x6Marlins (.402) x6Nats (.504) x6Braves (.429) x7Yankees (.548) x3Reds (.419) x423 games against horrible teams, 9 against average teams, 3 against a good team.Also worth noting: O'Flaherty is soooooooooo bad. 12.6 ERA, 2.2 WHIP. I don't understand why he was even added to the team.[Edited on August 26, 2015 at 10:35 PM. Reason : -]
8/26/2015 10:32:26 PM
Correction, 15.88 ERA since he came to the Mets, .474 opponant batting average
8/27/2015 12:31:40 AM
He is a rare example of a guy TJ surgery completely fucked up. Never got his stuff back..
8/28/2015 11:14:22 AM
It begins If the Mets don't win at least 2 of 3 at Washington, panic mode will commence.
9/6/2015 4:39:58 PM
Breathe, assholes.
9/7/2015 5:23:50 PM
Nolan Ryan thinks Harvey is a pussy
9/8/2015 1:08:13 AM
It's not Harvey being a pussy, it's Scott Boras telling players to consider themselves more important than the whole team.
9/8/2015 3:01:04 AM
if limiting Harvey to 60 pitches in the postseason is true, that could really fuck up the bullpen.
9/8/2015 10:59:14 AM
I haven't heard 60 pitches. I've only heard limit of one start per series...which is fine as long as deGrom pitches Game 1.
9/8/2015 1:42:17 PM
^i saw it going around on twitter, but judging by this from the ESPN NY Mets Blog, nothing is set in stone at all.
9/8/2015 2:44:22 PM
I'm trying my best not to be over-critical of Terry Collins since his system has been working for the most part (and last night's lineup and late-game adjustments were just perfect), but I'm wondering why Cespedes is ever batting anything other than 3 or 4. He's in the lineup tonight in the 2 spot. Conforto moved from 4 to 7.I get that this system adjusts to who is pitching for the other team, but Murphy and Wright are batting 3/4 while neither is at full strength. Duda is 5 tonight coming back from DL.
9/8/2015 4:54:29 PM
A lot of very smart people have stated that teams should hit their best player in the #2 hole. Donaldson hits there for the Blue Jays. It's not a bad move by Collins
9/8/2015 5:55:18 PM
players association waived the part of Cespedes contract that would make the Mets unable to sign him until May 15. so re-signing him is at least a possibility now...still seems like it may be a long shot.
9/8/2015 6:45:44 PM
^Came to post this. He's said since day 1 he loves it in NY. I don't think he would have cared enough to drop the clause if he didn't want to make this work.
9/8/2015 7:11:33 PM
i'd love for it to happen...don't know how the organization will look at it though. they've definitely been kinda stingy on long term free agent contracts recently.
9/8/2015 7:50:53 PM
Lol, all this fuss over Harvey. 4 straight starts of not making it into the 7th inning. 3/4 of those gave up 7+ hits. Maybe shutting him down is the right move.Bartolo Colon: The "Dependable"
9/8/2015 8:52:49 PM
Bryce Harper now 0/20 vs Harvey all time though, lol
9/8/2015 8:58:37 PM
mets tie it up...due in part to a 3 run double by Cespedes. pay the man whatever he wants, please.
9/8/2015 9:35:55 PM
That was one of the greatest innings I've ever watched. Just the pure resiliency of this team to battle back...and to be able to keep the bats still enough for 6 walks with 2 outs in 1 inning.
9/8/2015 10:02:14 PM
Told you Collins was smart to bat Yoenis in the #2 hole last night Also my post from page 1:
9/9/2015 12:05:59 PM
At least that's one thing everyone can appreciate the Mets, they don't keep assholes on the team (at least not in the last 10-15 years). No one like A-Rod or Harper who everyone hates. Our biggest stars in recent years have been pretty likable guys, Wright and Piazza especially.
9/9/2015 2:21:01 PM
I could see opposing fans disliking Harvey's off the field stuff...he seems to really enjoy the spotlight, not that it bothers me, but I can see some opposing fans thinking he's full of himself or whatever.
9/9/2015 2:59:42 PM
I still say that's Boras more than it is him, but yeah I can see how fans of other teams could look at it that way.
9/9/2015 4:22:05 PM
No team on earth would hit Strasburg tonight. Filthy...
9/9/2015 8:55:20 PM
I hate Matt Harvey because he went to UNC. Every other State fan should feel the same I was never a fan of Piazza because he came off as effeminate. But I'm a Braves fan so obviously I'm biased. Never liked Reyes either. The Met I hated most though was Dennis Cook. Dude was just an asshole.
9/9/2015 9:06:10 PM
Damn double post. [Edited on September 9, 2015 at 9:06 PM. Reason : d]
yeah, reyes was another guy i was thinking of as being a player that opposing fans wouldn't like. another comeback win. sweep the nats. 7 game lead. what a wild series.
9/9/2015 9:50:40 PM
Crazy. Strasburg made three bad pitches all game and the Mets made them count. Honestly only drama for me is clinching at home rest of year... would be nice to catch the Dodgers and host NLDS..
9/9/2015 9:52:07 PM
9/9/2015 10:37:32 PM
hahaha, have definitely enjoyed the shenanigans the Mets have pulled the last few nights.Kelly Johnson has always been able to hit a fastball. Amazing that Strasburg throws two shitty breaking balls and then thinks hes gonna sneak a heater right down the middle by Kelly.
9/10/2015 8:38:41 AM
I barely even remember Dennis Cook. But if you want to talk hated players, no one could ever top John Rocker.
9/10/2015 1:22:51 PM
I think Colon should be a playoff starter.
9/11/2015 1:09:18 AM
Look at his splits versus playoff teams. He'd be my fourth choice.
9/11/2015 11:35:37 AM
Right now deGrom should be the only sure thing for the playoff rotation. Harvey and Syndergaard have been shaky as of late...against pretty bad teams.
9/11/2015 4:12:47 PM
9/12/2015 1:50:17 AM
i keep waiting for cespedes to cool off and it's just not happening.8.5 game lead now.
