Great, another promising NC State player who is going to waste the rest of his college days to never see an NBA roster. I knew as soon as this team started showing some promis they would NC State shit it up somehow.
4/15/2015 3:10:11 PM
waste his college years?he's been in college for 5 years.
4/15/2015 3:11:22 PM
ANYWAYTHE WINDBLOWS
4/15/2015 3:11:57 PM
please god let there be a silver lining of open PT that gets us a late addition to this class
4/15/2015 3:12:48 PM
^^^ Yeah like come back next year and be a part of a team that has a chance. I mean, he is a good college player and I loved having him on our team but I would be more surprised if he actually gets drafted. Playing another year at a high level could have made him a lot more money since he will likely be d league at best.[Edited on April 15, 2015 at 3:13 PM. Reason : .]
4/15/2015 3:13:26 PM
4/15/2015 3:18:05 PM
I mean...I get the whole age thing and why he's leaving...But there was definitely a possibility of him significantly improving his draft status. Right now I doubt he even gets drafted. He's an undersized shooting guard who's not exactly a sharp-shooter nor is he athletic enough to get to the rim against NBA shooting guards. And he's not a good enough ball-handler right now to be an NBA point guard.Keep working on your game and either improve your shooting and athletic ability and market yourself as a viable two...or improve your point guard skills and market yourself as a one.But I guess he chose option B and will see if he can improve those skills int he D-league or overseas...because there's no way he's sticking on a roster next year.
4/15/2015 3:18:29 PM
^^ yeah. should have clarified by saying he'd be going into his 5th yearhe can still improve on those things and get paid at the same time. it's not like he's going to disappear off of NBA scouts radars by not playing in college.
4/15/2015 3:23:57 PM
^^^ yeah it's 4.there's still a chance he comes back, but I'm not holding my breath. hopefully he's getting evals from NBA scouts and seeing what he can improve rather than settling for international leagues (not that there's anything wrong with playing internationally)[Edited on April 15, 2015 at 3:24 PM. 4/15/2015 3:24:29 PM
Except one good season next year could get him drafted a decent spot and get him one NBA contract. Would be worth a lot more than he is going to end up making by leaving early.^ it's a pretty stupid move when you aren't even on anyone's draft board. Maybe I just don't get colleg basketball or something but it doesn't seem like the smartest idea[Edited on April 15, 2015 at 3:26 PM. Reason : .]
4/15/2015 3:25:11 PM
^ are you a scout?
4/15/2015 3:25:57 PM
A lot of posts recently equating "declaring for the draft" with "I think i'll be a first round pick". You can make good money playing basketball for a living overseas. I would do that in a heart beat over returning to college if I didn't think I ever had a chance of being a first round pick and I already had my degree.
4/15/2015 3:31:49 PM
coming back at age 24 does him no good other than to make fans happy. As you see today fans are fickle, so I agree with him and FBGM
4/15/2015 3:31:57 PM
Players dont want to be on our team. Entering the draft too ealry is just tranferring for good players. Not surprised because we see it multiple times per year.
4/15/2015 3:35:11 PM
Imagine how bad players must hate playing for Kentucky then
4/15/2015 3:35:33 PM
as a college player, he is who he is at this point. it's not like his competition is going to get drastically better next season, so he's better off playing against better competition and getting compensated while doing it. even if he were to have a great season next year (meaning 1st-team All-ACC), an NBA team isn't going to reward him for that by taking him in the 1st half of the draft
4/15/2015 3:36:23 PM
^^^ LOL, just trolling now[Edited on April 15, 2015 at 3:37 PM. Reason : j]
4/15/2015 3:36:54 PM
I cant think of a kentucky player who left too early besides wiltjer and harrow but that was because they would never play. We consistently have key players who cant wait to get out. No other program is even close
4/15/2015 3:38:30 PM
kyle Washington was not a key player dude. its not like we have cat barber or abu transferring
4/15/2015 3:39:38 PM
wait, I thought that was a face troll? Am I mixing them up again?
