At age 30 you are talking about things you accomplished when you were 18 instead of the things you will accomplish going forward. Less and less people will care each year about what you did a long time ago.

Can someone send BeeJay a get well card? Cause that man is sick.
11/23/2014 7:55:16 PM
^^ Just because I met the players due to playing football in their towns or with their sons somehow relates to my life achievements? I see no connection there. Are you one of those guys that never got off the bench in football and all you saw in my statements was football? You said more about yourself in that sentence than you did about me, it doesn't follow any logic, at all.I thought I was having a short back and forth with TreeTwista10 about meeting some NCSU greats and you do some half baked analysis of my 2-3 sentences? What about when I met David Thompson when I was 9 in Lowe's and got that basketball and photo signed? What does that say about me? hahalol, I didn't even say if I started, I simply said "played Football" (is that an achievement?).[Edited on November 24, 2014 at 1:11 AM. Reason : _]

Yall got me, I am David Thompson.

Anya had a monster block in the first half...think it's the 3rd one here. http://www.msn.com/en-us/video/sports/block-party-for-anya/vp-BBfuEed

If he keeps up this pace (4.8 bpg), then he'll have the 4th highest average in NCAA Division I history. The Admiral, Adonal Foyle, and some dude from Central Connecticut State are ahead of him (5.87). Fucking Jackson State game is really bringing him down.
11/24/2014 4:29:35 PM
NC State is 9th in team block % at 13.6%

I clicked this thread expecting a hot Indian chick
11/24/2014 8:59:16 PM
Shit. I'm from Shelby and my mom went to high school with DT and sat with him at lunch. She gets weird when she talks about those days so I wonder if he slipped her the Thompson.Either way, go get some Anya.

Appreciated! Blocks, dunks, shots, free throws....you had it all today!

Against Duke:14 points (career high), 6 rbs, 4 blocks(10 team blocks, washington had 4 too)

on place for 96 blocks for the regular season, which would break Thurl Bailey's single season record (1982-1983) by one
1/13/2015 3:10:22 PM
Leading the ACC in blocks with 2.59 per game in only 19 minutes per game. The next closest is Christmas who plays almost twice as many minutes.
2/22/2015 2:19:48 PM
If this guy can trim down 30 more pounds and develop post moves next season he could be really scary.
2/24/2015 10:38:14 PM
His defense tonight was huge in affecting unc's big men.

2/25/2015 9:40:07 AM
Already third in blocks in NCSU history, as a sophomore (before the 6 blocks against UNC)
2/25/2015 9:57:31 AM
Mother fucking monster.UNC's frontcourt has been beasting people all year and he pretty much shut them all down (yeah..Meeks had a decent game, but a few of his buckets were wide open dunks off of breaks or defensive breakdowns). That was fucking impressive.
2/25/2015 11:15:51 AM
now at 76 blockssingle season school record is 95feasible if we play a couple games in each tournament and he gets good minutes. possible without that many games, but he'd have to have monster games.
2/25/2015 6:02:41 PM
Voted All Defense AND ACC Sixth Man of the Year!
3/8/2015 3:13:31 PM
Shocked he's 6th man of the year. Really did not see that coming. But congrats...at times he's been downright dominant defensively. Not always effective some games...maybe just a style of play or matchup thing.
3/8/2015 3:41:50 PM
what is the 6th man award?
3/8/2015 3:54:20 PM
non-starter, first guy off the bench
3/8/2015 3:55:56 PM
Since when has the ACC given out a 6th man award? Congrats to Anya as he won this on the back of his awesome block rate, but apparently there were not many other ACC bench players worth a damn - maybe Matt Jones of Duke?[Edited on March 8, 2015 at 4:30 PM. Reason : s]
3/8/2015 4:29:45 PM
i too was surprised both at the award's existence and Beejay getting it. needs 11 more blocks to tie single season school record, 12 to break. two games in ACCT and two in NCAAT would make those realistic possibilities. up to 130 career blocks, 77 from tying Bailey's career mark.
3/8/2015 4:36:26 PM
no offense, but i find it surprising that some people who watch basketball don't know what the "sixth man award" is.gg anya!
3/8/2015 7:44:48 PM
I think ncsuallday is the only one who didn't know what it is, while others (myself included) didn't realize ACC gave out one. Best I can tell, last year was the first time it was awarded.
3/8/2015 7:53:05 PM
^true, it appears that you are right. NBA has been doing since at least the early 80s.
3/8/2015 7:58:55 PM
yeah, I remember Dell Curry winning it with the Hornets back in the early/mid 90s
3/8/2015 8:09:40 PM
yeah not sure how I missed that but now I know. I think it's important to be able to ask questions. I grew up with my mom and just never followed sports closely until college so a lot of stuff that comes second nature to y'all are things I've had to really research on my own over the years. [Edited on March 8, 2015 at 8:20 PM. Reason : .]
3/8/2015 8:14:38 PM
^no worries, it is good to ask questions.(survive and advance was on last night)
3/9/2015 8:41:29 AM
I still find it remarkable that a dude as big and cumbersome looking as him can still keep his feet under him as well as he does in the post. And, he rarely gets caught in the air due to his impeccable timing. Watching him blocking shots is some of the hottest shit that I have ever seen from a husky guy.
3/9/2015 3:07:47 PM
^you gayit's beejay's birthday today
3/9/2015 5:02:46 PM
Happy birthday big man! Don't eat all the cake .

Thought this quote from Gott after the Syracuse game was pretty interesting:
3/10/2015 12:11:04 AM
thanks for posting that. pretty much agree with what he said. although Anya has obviously improved a lot since last year thanks to getting his weight down, it'd be awesome if he could trim up a little more. he needs to be able to play longer without tiring and be able to run/power walk the floor consistently (which would include lining up for rebounds when our team is shooting free throws instead of hanging out on the other end of the court) to maximize his potential. he'd likely be a little more agile with his post moves too, but he needs to work on catching the ball first. i was surprised in the Syracuse game how often they gave him a clear path to the basket from 8 feet out and he didn't just power his way in there. if there's no one outside the restricted area to take the charge, he needs to just barrel towards the basket and let the defense deal with the consequences (which will likely include a dunk, a blocking foul, and/or a defender who has learned his lesson)
