Firms generally don't issue equity when they are about to be acquired or want to be acquired.

Did anyone who uses Scottrade have a large, quick spike in their account(s) a few weeks ago? Both of my accounts had a $20-30k spike for what looks like a day that I can't figure out.
2/27/2014 12:21:22 AM
bought a shit load of shares of ONCS (sister company of INO that uses the same delivery platform) a few months ago at like 0.28, but only held it for a day or two and decided to get back into INO with that....it ran up around 0.80 yesterday
2/27/2014 2:20:35 PM
I sold my JC penny bc they suck and it went up 25% today. Eeeeeeeeeeeh
2/27/2014 10:11:23 PM
well at least you're not holding JC Penny stock anymore bc they suckI'm thinking INO will get below 3 buck dollars early next week, I'm probably gonna accumulate a pretty good amount of shares from this...the volume has been drying up except after the dillution announcement, but that's helping drive it down a good bit alsoit'll probably go right back to near $4 again within the next few months
2/28/2014 5:48:48 PM
PSMI is working out pretty well thus far...I bought in @ 5.48. There was some recent insider buying too.Does anyone have thoughts on LTRX?
2/28/2014 7:55:37 PM
opened an account with optionsexpress this weekend.
3/3/2014 12:24:15 PM
i've pretty much counted out INO getting back sub-$3...still waiting on an entry point thoughI think ~$3.25 would be my break-even point, hoping for no news anytime soon so it will get to there at least
3/7/2014 11:27:03 AM
bought NIHD and RSXJ last week /gamble
3/10/2014 5:55:00 PM
Question on commission. Can I buy more than one different stocks example; 10 GOOG, 10 FB, 23 MSFT and pay 1 commission price at once or do I have to pay 3 commission price?
3/12/2014 12:12:13 PM
3 + another 3 when you sell
3/12/2014 12:20:52 PM
As in Buying different stocks at one time and pay one commission fee.[Edited on March 12, 2014 at 12:22 PM. Reason : Ah ok. So No. Thanks. ]
3/12/2014 12:22:11 PM
Walter are you completely out of INO?
3/12/2014 12:23:50 PM
nah...I've still got around 1/3 of the shares that I had before I started selling a couple of weeks agoI'm pretty pissed that I sold now because it's looking like I will probably lose around 1,000 shares trying to play that run, because I still plan on getting back in fully before their Phase 2 results are released[Edited on March 12, 2014 at 5:06 PM. Reason : .]
3/12/2014 5:03:53 PM
3/14/2014 4:02:15 PM
could see some movement with INO tomorrow...they are releasing their quarterly earnings report tomorrow morning
3/16/2014 11:38:43 PM
Shoulda held onto that INO mane.I think that was the consensus here right?
3/17/2014 12:11:03 AM
3.25 or bust!!!
3/17/2014 9:48:05 AM
Bought ICPT for 462 last week. Drop to 405 today -12% .
3/17/2014 4:39:10 PM
I fucking hate INO
3/19/2014 6:39:33 PM
3/19/2014 7:32:13 PM
If I were to get back in fully at the current price, I'd lose ~2,000 shares (from where I was before I started selling)...plus I owe quite a bit in short term cap gains taxes from the sell offIt was a litte bit of a failure, but I can't complain because I'm up a pretty considerable amount I will probably buy if/when it gets to around 3.40-3.50ish again
3/19/2014 9:16:10 PM
can we just go ahead and rename this thread INO 2014 ... seems to be what dominates the discussion.
3/19/2014 9:19:00 PM
What the fuck are you talking about "losing shares" I've been trading stocks for about a decade and I've never heard such stupidity.
3/19/2014 9:57:14 PM
you're fucking dense if you can't comprehend that
3/19/2014 11:25:38 PM
You mean...you put your shares somewhere and you can't find them? You lost your keyboard and your phone and can't have your broker buy new shares? It's obvious as hell you don't have a fucking clue what you are doing. When this market finally exhausts these biotech stocks are going to get crushed first. Please keep posting while that happens because your stupidity feeds me.
3/20/2014 8:11:17 AM
are we still talking about pump and dump spambot stocks ITT?just checking.
3/20/2014 10:08:48 AM
LOL
3/20/2014 10:28:45 AM
I wish I had cash to pick up MagicJack (CALL) a few months ago when I started watching it...it was in the 11s then; low 20s now. I've started watching Sonus Networks (SONS) to see where it'll go.
3/22/2014 12:43:06 PM
I kind of wish I Had purchased some BRDR on Friday.
3/22/2014 1:13:18 PM
I've been trading stocks for over a decade
3/22/2014 6:00:24 PM
SHOULD I BUY NETFLIX[ ] YES[ ] NO
3/22/2014 7:44:38 PM
Too expensive, in my opinion.I made >1000% on NFLX a few years ago, selling when I thought the P/Es had ascended into the retardosphere. It tanked shortly thereafter when they fumbled on changing their rate plans.I wish I'd bought back in after it tanked, because it obviously has ran WAAAY back up again. Now, again sitting on a 230 P/E, they're talking about raising rates again, and now with more substantial competition (albeit with cord-cutting and streaming in general continuing to gain momentum).I could be wrong, you could make money (or wish you'd bought in). The risk vs potential reward just isn't there, though, in my semi-informed opinion. That said, I've had tomorrow marked on my calendar literally for months as the day that my cable contract is finally up, so I can call those motherfuckers and go internet only without incurring a penalty, so...maybe there are enough more people like me and not enough upcoming pressure from Amazon or maybe Google (and other players like Hulu). From what I've read, Apple has scaled back their ambitions for next-gen AppleTV due to industry resistance. I wouldn't be shocked if once they figure out how to pull the right strings and get the right things lined up, they jump in as a juggernaut.
3/22/2014 10:02:15 PM
hrrrmph. that was going to be my fun, I-could-be-on-the-good-side-of-history purchase. now what
3/22/2014 11:06:49 PM
that said, some people a whole shitload smarter than i am on this stuff think it's a good cornerstone, long-haul investment.
3/22/2014 11:28:18 PM
3/23/2014 9:32:56 AM
^hater
3/23/2014 10:04:05 PM
I wasn't down 5% on INO today so there is nothing to hate.
3/24/2014 6:01:37 PM
From what I can gather, Walter has already made a boat load on INO. He bought in when it was sub $1.
3/24/2014 8:46:10 PM
so why is this thread still dominated by leg humping a bullshit pump and dump stock?I mean, shit let me just pontificate on and on like a blind faggot at a hot dog eating contest about how much I made on a stock last year. [Edited on March 25, 2014 at 9:13 AM. Reason : .]
3/25/2014 9:12:04 AM
I think we have different definitions of boat load.
3/25/2014 9:18:06 AM
I'd call 400-500% gains a boat load
3/25/2014 6:25:21 PM
Oh shit...back up folks, we got us a paper trader over here.
3/25/2014 10:43:58 PM
Wow guys. He's a thousandaire.I bet you always win when you go to the casino too, right?
3/26/2014 9:16:37 AM
i vote we just ignore the penny stock posts and get this thread back on track - i'm new to the whole stock market game and have been playing around a little biti don't follow any industry except technology although i bought a little LNG and CMCSA (sort of tech) - the rest is all technology stocksnot planning to buy / sell frequently - typically buying about $1000-1500 each time when i buy a stock and plan to hold long term - having a hard time selling a loser right now (down just $165 on it) that i think will possibly go lower but willing to ride it out and see
3/26/2014 9:44:30 AM
<WARNING INO GAMBLING POST>3.82 Friday, steadily drops since to 3.07 this morning, then a rally after lunch today back up to 3.64I had used up all of my powder Tuesday and got back in at 3.37...I didn't take as much of a hit as I thought, although it would have been pretty nice to wait like 2 hours after I did buy lol</WARNING INO GAMBLING POST>
3/27/2014 5:40:17 PM
Is this BIOTECH selloff going to stop or keep going? I own a fund that has been on fire the last few years but has gotten crushed the last few weeks. I have cash to spend in my IRA and I just cant figure out if I need to get out of BIO for a while or use the downturn as an excuse to buy more of the fund and trust that the fund will get back on a winning run?vague post, maybe....but my point is: BIOTECH WTF IS GOING ON WITH IT THE REST OF THE YEAR??
3/29/2014 4:58:15 AM
What is your time frame? If you're holding for longer term then you missed your opportunity to cash out and reenter at better prices. After a fall this far you're likely better off just hanging on to it for now assuming you have a longer time horizon. This advice is null and void if some type of contagion effects the entire market which would cause the biotechs to get hit harder first. In lieu of that, this is likely nothing more than a market that got a little ahead of itself resetting it's sentiment probably in preparation for another move higher.
3/29/2014 10:15:05 AM
yea i realized too late that i missed out on a sale earlier. i have been sick and/or out of town a lot lately and wasnt keeping a close eye on things. yes, it is a long term account so i am not terribly worried that it wont recover. just not sure how much lower it may go now, or if it has bottomed out and i can go ahead and buy more so that when it does recover, i get back in the black faster
