if you would have asked me in early March whether I thought Purvis was going to transfer, I would have said yes. His decreased minutes, from 2/27 through 3/15, were shocking:

28 -> 25 -> 23 -> 20 -> 11 -> 9

but his playing time blew up in the ACC-T (19 minutes) and the NCAA-T (13 minutes). I say there's no way he's looking to transfer. he's guaranteed to be a starter next year

i'd love purvis as a starter. but i wish gott would teach him to not be overly aggressive. it doesnt seem like he can handle fast transition plays, and he ends up squandering possessions on the fast break unlike zo.

can't believe he's not Lebron James at 18 years old, whats his problem!!111

i would hope all Leslie haters love Purvis, since he ALWAYS comes with energy and effort

guy can hit the open 3, is a great perimeter defender (as a true freshman), can run faster in the open floor than 99% of players in the country, and can help pump up the crowd/team

if he gets his FT% up to 75% by next year, he'll be on one of the three All-ACC teams

pretty common for a young player. he'll learn how to get under control.

[Edited on March 23, 2013 at 11:34 PM. Reason : I don't see purvis transferring. he's a starter next year on what should be a decent team.]

If purvis can develop a mid-range game, more control around the basket, and shoot 75% from the FT line, he could be a top 5 pick

lol at those that think its easy to go from 51% FT shooter to 75% in one year. Maybe by his junior or senior seasons, but its not gonna happen after one season.

Sucks that Warren is going to have to play big which is exactly what he doesn't want to do but at least our offense will literally run through him on every possession.

Turner was 37% from the floor as well as from 3; 75% at the line in '11-'12.

But as will all transfers...don't bet on a continuation or upward trend.

We're fine on guards. We need big men. We also need Anya to get in fucking shape. Him being able to give us 20 solid minutes a game is going to be CRUCIAL.

http://blogs.newsobserver.com/accnow/brown-warren-still-undecided-on-nba-future

Quote :
"N.C. State could lose as many as three starters early to the NBA draft. The Wolfpack could also get C.J. Leslie, Lorenzo Brown or T.J. Warren back for another season.
The parents of Brown and Warren said Tuesday that no decision has been made about their sons' respective futures.
CBSSports.com reported Tuesday that both Brown and Leslie, both juniors, were expected to leave for the NBA.
Back in October, N.C. State coach Mark Gottfried said he expected to lose both juniors after the season. N.C. State went 24-11 this season and lost to Temple in the second round of the NCAA tournament.
Brown, a 6-5 point guard, led the ACC in assists, with 7.2 per game, and Leslie, a 6-8 forward, led the Wolfpack in scoring (15.1 points per game) for the second straight season.
Kim Banks, Brown's mom, said she would be in Raleigh this week to talk to her son about his future. She also refuted the CBS report.
"I've seen the rumors," Banks said. "I don't know where they get that from. He hasn't made a decision yet."
Leslie, who almost left for the NBA last April, also seemed to deny the report on his Twitter account on Tuesday afternoon.
"Who said I was leaving," Leslie tweeted.
Gottfried has previously said he expects to lose both Leslie and Brown, and has recruited accordingly, but Warren's departure would be a surprise.
The 6-8 forward from Durham averaged 12.1 points and 4.2 rebounds as a freshman and led the ACC in field goal percentage (62.2).
DraftExpress.com ranks Warren, who started the final 10 games of the season and improved his draft stock in the process, as the best prospect of the three Wolfpack underclassmen.
Warren's dad, Tony, said he has paid attention to the draft projections but that he hasn't talked to his son about the decision.
"If he's a first-round pick, I think it would be a good decision," said Warren, a former Wolfpack player who was an eighth-round pick of the Chicago Bulls in 1979.
But Warren also said he felt his son could be a lottery pick next year after a big sophomore season as the centerpiece of N.C. State's offense.
"It's too early to tell," Warren said. "I want to see what he wants to do. It's up to him but he knows he can play at the next level."
"

Lets go ahead and start the 2014-2015 thread. Next years is a lost cause, new starting 5 new coach probably release the recruits and have a few transfers.

It means that transfers don't work out alot of times.

See Marques Johnson or Harrow.

Sometimes they do. Toby Bethel.

I'd be fine with Pearl. May be wrong but IIRC all he did was have an illegal cookout. Just lied about it.

Per Wikipedia it was because he had Aaron Craft and family at an illegal cookout. Then lied about it.

That gets a show cause but UNC can have fake classes and nothing. I swear the NCAA is so full of stupid.

^Assistants can handle it for one year

Let's talk worse case scenario for the team next year (aside from Gott/UCLA). Let it wash over you. That way if shit doesn't completely hit the fan, we can rejoice.

-Zo, CJ, TJ declare for the draft
-Purvis, Lewis transfer out

So next year, our starting lineup might look like this:
-Cat
-JUCO (Lee?)
-Turner
-Washington
-Vandy

BENCH: Juvonte ... Anya ... some random dudes from Carmichael

Hooray for suck!

What I don't get about all this transfer talk is that (assuming CJ and Zo are gone) we are losing >120 minutes of playing time per game. Unless these guys just absolutely hate each other and Gott then where are they going to go that will give them a better chance to play (after sitting out a year)?

Just got in. We still have a team? Mark chillin' on a Cali beach yet? TJ declare for the draft? I don't think he's ready for war. Lewis transfer to UNC? Purvis transfer to UNLV?
