Finally saw last Sunday's episode, easily the best one of the season so far.[Edited on May 10, 2013 at 10:40 PM. Reason : PAGE 4]

Pete is about to lose his shit.

So *that's* why Bob is there. I dig it. Major manipulator though...major. Always with the coffee, and now the football, and the way he handled the nurse. He's an interesting one. Great episode. Really love this season.[Edited on May 13, 2013 at 9:40 AM. Reason : ]

I am, thus far, not too impressed with this season. In my opinion, the show has spliced together too many separate story lines. Everything feels rushed and incomplete; sometimes even unnecessary. In fact, it makes it difficult for me to become invested into any of the story lines, making me far less invested in the show.I'm just not feeling it this year.
5/13/2013 9:41:42 AM
Have to say that I didn't enjoy the Don/Sylvia thing. I think I know what they were trying to do, just thought they did a shitty job of portraying it. Felt really weird. The rest of the episode was pretty good though.
5/13/2013 1:48:50 PM
Don was a few days away from being the dude in Ohio
5/13/2013 1:52:43 PM
Matt Weiner is continuing his quest to make everyone hate Don Draperthat was pretty rough

Don did an Adam from Girls
5/13/2013 11:33:42 PM
not the first time he's done that

this season has been REALLY fucking goodBenson Benson BensonSylvia has some sexy lips, man. Im glad the Sylvia thing is over, not because i dont like that arch, but because i was on pins and needles with uneasiness about what they were doing and how it would end. Im 100% sure she is legitimately through with it. Don's reaction was interesting, he tried to keep playin the dominance game and Sylvia was like "nah man for real, this is over." and then he got pale faced and begged..great acting. I think the last time he begged for pussy like that was with Rachel Menkin (my favorite of his mistresses...excluding Megan if you consider her a mistress)i would like to see Menkin come back for a cameo, maybe just to shake her head at how far Don has fallen without changing at all. I also busted a gut at Roger firing Burt again. The first firing was one of the most hilarious scenes of Mad Men ever IMO, and this one paralleled it in a hilarious way, without the sympathy of Burts cancer stricken wife this time. I didnt see that coming at all i was actually really interested in how they were just gonna have him back after that scene he caused the last time he was there. Poor guy.P.S. Who is team Megan and who is anti-Megan?? I am obviously super Team Megan and i feel like im the only one lolshes the only genuine person on the show and shes like the whipping post for everyone else's character flaws[Edited on May 14, 2013 at 1:00 PM. I think Sepinwall is right in thinking that they're positioning Bob Benson to be the Don Draper of accounts seeing how Don resorted to the same things to get his foot in the door at Sterling Cooper[Edited on May 14, 2013 at 12:59 PM. Reason : my favorite affair was Sally's teacher. the best Jerry, the best.]
5/14/2013 12:58:21 PM
he made that bitch sit in the car all night lol she was weak.
5/14/2013 1:00:44 PM
Rachel Menken was also my favorite. And I understood everything with Don/Sylvia except why Don decided to take it there in the first place. She said she needed him and only him. So Don took that to mean it was time to dominate? Was he purposefully trying to go too far?
5/16/2013 9:30:19 AM
i thought so at first during the episode (that he was deliberately trying to drive her off) because I feel like when she said she needed him and only him she was getting too attached and i actually feel like he really likes and respects Arnold. But then that reaction at the end when she ends it i think its clear that he did not want it to end. So i just feel like Teddy Chaough, Peggy, Pete, even Joan have been sonning him at work the past few weeks and he needed to feel like he was a King ruling over something the way he sat in the chair with his arms on the arm rests (it seemed like an overly large chair IMO) and had Sylvia get his shoes made me think of rulership immediatelyIn any event he needs to be home with Megan shes wonderful
5/16/2013 9:42:58 AM
^ I believe in part he was seeing how far he could push it. I believe he wanted her in his life but something about her being all for him scared him because he wasn't sure how to handle it. Divorce Megan, stay with Sylvia and be at odds with the doctor? Continue to cheat on Megan?
5/16/2013 9:44:50 AM
She begged him to leave work and then took him for granted, whining about her husband. So I guess it makes sense to want to put her in her place. But then he said please at the end, and it was like nobody was in control. So weird and sad.
5/16/2013 10:55:48 AM
^^^I think that is pretty close. He can see that he has lost some control at work and had something he felt like he could easily control. He felt fully in control of the situation and when it was yanked out from under him he was truly caught off guard for one of the very few times in the series. He genuinely did not know how to respond.
5/16/2013 11:33:28 AM
im not sad for don anymore hes a dick
5/16/2013 3:26:05 PM

What the fuck was that???You know I watched too much south land when the first thing I thought when aunt jemima robbed the apt was that Sylvia sent her there to recover some incriminating shit from don But that was just a bad episode not looking forward to rewatching[Edited on May 19, 2013 at 11:23 PM. Gah. This damn computer DVR setup always fucks up during mad men. Usually in the beginning, but tonight right at the end missed any conversation once Cutler said Wendy was Frank Gleason's daughter. What happened after that?I'm gonna watch it again anyway just bc that was beyond "dafuq?!" so I'll try to record another showing.Looking forward to the recaps on this one tomorrow.
5/20/2013 12:20:39 AM
I think the part you're talking about basically chaough bitches at Don about the Chrysler work bring gibberish and what the hell happened while he was away. Then don basically says doing creative is not his job and to holler at him when the creative staff brings him something worthy of making into an ad and struts off (i think the quote was see me in 1970 this place turns into a whorehouse every time we get a car) Which he is kinda not wrong about. He then calls Sally and tells her not to worry because he didn't have a heart attack and apologizes for leaving the back door open (which I think he's done in the part but always blamed it on the maid) I'm not sure if the Sylvia don elevator scene was after this it before it I feel like it was the closing scene but they have an awkward silent elevator ride but Don looks like he's over Sylvia and doesn't even look interested in trying to spark anything after all that time spent searching for a way to get back to her[Edited on May 20, 2013 at 12:53 AM. 5/20/2013 12:51:20 AM
Sally phone call and elevator were before Ted, Don & Cutler conversation, but I didn't hear the whorehouse comment or 1970 yet b4 it froze up.
5/20/2013 7:22:52 AM
That was incredible.
5/20/2013 8:23:11 AM
i didn't get that episode, i don't understand the praise
5/20/2013 8:45:56 AM
I understand why it may get praise a lit of development occurred I just personally didn't like how it was directed and other than "are we negroes" the thing with aunt jemima is a little far fetchedIt was too surreal the whole thing to give any of it credibility
5/20/2013 10:40:55 AM
Kind of hated that one except for Cosgrove's tapdance, unfortunately. But I've liked this season on the whole more than most people seem to.
5/20/2013 10:53:23 AM
5/20/2013 10:56:27 AM
Cosgrove's tap dance was gold.
5/20/2013 10:57:56 AM
that episode was so crazy that I haven't read one thing about how crazy that opening scene with Cosgrove was in any of the 3 reviews I've read so far this morning
5/20/2013 11:10:00 AM
Pretty sure Don could have a brain tumor
5/20/2013 11:14:18 AM
^^ when it opened with that, i knew we were in for some shenanigans.
5/20/2013 11:28:43 AM
I haven't encountered very many people downing the season at all aside from the premiere itself
5/20/2013 11:34:11 AM
I am also loving this season.
5/20/2013 11:44:23 AM
yea this season is great. <3 this show.
5/20/2013 2:52:26 PM
I am very disappointed that we aren't seeing sexy Scarlett at all; and I would like to see what Jonesy is up to
5/20/2013 3:39:29 PM
Thought the episode was interesting but not entirely successful. It was just a touch more gimicky than Mad Men usually is. Still solid, though.I'm excited to see how the oneupsmanship between Chaough and Don develops over the rest of the season. One of them will leave the new agency by the end of the season I bet.
5/20/2013 6:19:20 PM
"you have a great ass"...."thank you"
5/20/2013 10:10:34 PM
I'm slowly realizing that Peggy is actually really freakin cute
5/20/2013 11:26:22 PM
I made that realization some time ago and know EXACTLY what you're going throughI think my moment was seeing her in Get Him To The Greek
5/20/2013 11:58:54 PM
Peggy...the choice is behind door lettered [D,T,S]...Hidden choice P!And god I loved this episode."Did you see that?""Come on i wasn't gonna get in the middle of that. are you all of a sudden dumber than Peggy?[Edited on May 26, 2013 at 11:10 PM. Reason : ]

i just watched it been avoiding the internet all dayits all beyond comment im still processing it. Don is confusing the shit outta me like Ted is confusing PeggyI was actually very glad to see Duck for some reasongreat episode though. Im still wanting more megann theyve kinda made her place in the show boring. This episode was good for her though, implying that she has been fully aware that Don 'hasnt been home" but shes going to fight for her marriage (until he drives her to suicide)[Edited on May 27, 2013 at 3:01 PM.
