He signed it on a motorcycle?
7/29/2013 8:58:46 PM
he was probably running from the 10,000 protesters who have taken over downtown
7/29/2013 9:11:22 PM
Are they really accomplishing anything? I want to see something amazing.

It was a bill about motorcycle safety that they added abortion legislation to with no notice (they had to do this because he said he would not sign the anti-Sharia bill that they added abortion legislation to with no notice)
7/30/2013 9:52:59 AM
Thanks for the explanation. Now can someone explain why the fuck shit like this is not illegal?!?!
7/30/2013 10:10:39 AM
You think the people that make the laws are going to make laws restricting how they're allowed to make laws?

Looks more like they're trying to appease him with cookies.Straight bribery.

Horrible thing to be done, but why should the media care that much?"NEWS ALERT: Elected Politician lies about his campaign promises"
7/30/2013 1:34:07 PM
I take back my earlier posts on this thread. Unfortunately I cannot take back my vote.
7/30/2013 1:35:16 PM
I mean this in the nicest way possible, but I ain't gonna lie. Anyone that didn't see this mess coming from a mile away should probably consider sitting the next decade out from voting.McCrory was an OK mayor, but he was bought and paid for well before he was elected. I place most of the blame on the democrats for sitting around with their thumbs up their asses in 2010 though. Teabaggers are gonna do what they're gonna do. You can't ask them to change their spots, but you can sure as hell do everything and then some to keep them from being elected. NC is good and fucked until 2020. [Edited on July 30, 2013 at 1:50 PM. 7/30/2013 1:39:57 PM
I still think he's a better mayor than that last bitch
7/30/2013 1:54:15 PM
Who?
7/30/2013 1:56:03 PM
He actually wasn't a bad mayor all things considered. He's a joke of a governor thus far though, and giving Perdue a run for her money as the worst in my lifetime.
7/30/2013 3:10:14 PM
7/30/2013 4:25:46 PM
LOL dammit, my apologies
7/30/2013 4:27:18 PM
I thought "the last bitch" he was referring to was Perdue, and then I was like "newsflash, they aren't mayors of NC." lol [Edited on July 30, 2013 at 5:31 PM. Reason : -]
7/30/2013 5:30:53 PM
I completely agree with Johnny Swank's assessment. McCrory was clearly bought and paid for before the election. I had some of my liberal Charlotte buddies recently admit to me that they crossed over to vote for him last election because they thought he would be a moderate and work together with both sides. They must know by now that clearly that is not the case.I would love to recall him but that is not gonna happen. It is a wonderful fantasy scenario however.
7/30/2013 8:38:34 PM
Yeah, NC has no such recall option, it's just elections.
7/30/2013 9:03:42 PM
I will gladly admit to voting for him in 2008, which I still feel is before the crazies got to himI will just as gladly admit to not voting for him in 2012 because it was apparent he sold his soul to the devil

Elections are about picking the lesser of 2(or 3) evils. The other team had control of the state for years, and they obviously were not getting us out of the red and into the black. While I don't agree with a lot of the social legislation they are cramming through, they are doing just what the other team did for the last 30 years - what they know best. Sure you can come in here and mention ALEC and all that other bullshit but that's no more of a conspiracy than ACORN swaying elections. I wish they hadn't passed the whole teacher crap in the budget, but I'm hoping they'll backtrack on that.I mean didn't we know that it was going to hurt to bring the economy in this state back on track? And what politician doesn't go back on campaign promises? I don't remember WRAL continuously keeping a "promise tracker" up when dear Bev took office.
7/31/2013 7:32:01 AM
the "promise tracker" they have for Pat has more in the "kept" column than "broken" so, there's that. Also, they point out that they didn't have one for Perdue, so you're not breaking any news there.
7/31/2013 8:30:14 AM
the press wasn't exactly Perdue-friendly.
7/31/2013 8:39:05 AM
7/31/2013 8:42:15 AM
I would like to know how those two things are related in any way
7/31/2013 9:22:05 AM
ACORN was a fairly decentralized, poorly funded grassroots charity organization that also helped people get out to vote. ALEC is funded by billionaire corporations and has the ear of thousands of legislators, with the specific goal of influencing policy in a right-leaning way, and has been successful in doing so.
7/31/2013 9:34:00 AM

^^I don't understand the fuss about that, I would have taken the cookies, said thanks, and continued protesting. I wouldn't whine about him being nice and giving out cookies. In what world is giving someone a cookie a mean act?
7/31/2013 10:56:24 AM
It's not mean. Coming out only to hand over cookies then walk away is dismissive and condescending.

7/31/2013 11:22:38 AM
They're psychopaths. Fanatics.
7/31/2013 11:23:42 AM
I think most of them are just very, very ignorant and dimwitted. There surely are some psychopaths among though, though.
7/31/2013 11:25:03 AM
7/31/2013 11:33:31 AM
yep
7/31/2013 11:36:43 AM
They weren't protesting for pastries. They wanted their voices to be heard. McCrory refusing to participate in any sort of dialogue or even acknowledge the need for public discussion was very condescending and dismissive as another poster put it.Of course those cookies were probably yummy and tasty.

now that shit was funny.sure, he's a dickbag for completely ignoring them during this entire legislative session, but you've got to admit that the cookies were a great "fuck you" gesture. A++++
7/31/2013 5:20:50 PM
^oh yeah, hilarious. exactly the type of person who should be governor.
7/31/2013 5:25:32 PM
you act like almost all politicians aren't dicks...I mean in that case, pretty much non of our elected officials should be in their positions...
