Flashlights are cheaper
NVGs eat batteries, have a narrow field of view and are susceptible to flashes

Flashlight still relevant

With the advent of Chevrolet's Volt, which gets something like 100 mpg-e, I don't know why they still produce the obsolete Corvette, which costs more, inconveniently scrapes its nose on steep driveways, and uses 5x more fuel.

Chevy Volt - not viable or economical. Can only survive with gov't subsidy. The Corvette is a technological marvel and is great blend of fuel efficiency, high performance and cost.
Bible? Yeah, people have been trying to make that obsolete for thousands of years.

when you dial a wrong number and you have to ask them what number it is so you know if you actually dialed wrong or the person doesn't live/work/exist at that number.

Yeah...NODs don't work unless you have some sort of light. Try walking around in the dark with 0% illumination and see what happens. Which is why NODs have built-in IR lights.

Also, the whole Archer-esque retina-searing thing? Doesn't happen.

It still has some legitimately good journalism and articles, kind of like rolling stone occasionally still does.

I bet it does, yeah. And it has titties, too. But it still looks pretty clearly like a sinking ship to me.

Well yeah, it's definitely obsolete. I mean, it seems likely that they'll fold up the magazine when Heff kicks it. Surely it's losing them money to publish the mag at this point.
