my dad lives in bastrop which is where the lunch stop for day 2 is. the ride takes us right by this gas station which he met me at. this gas station has a story behind it. i used to spend my summers in bastrop visiting my dad & my step sis & i would walk to this exact gas station every day in the summer & my step bro worked here for a summer back in the day. of course, during my childhood i never thought i would be going back to bastrop, much less riding my bike there.

has not much to do with the actual ms150 but its kind of cool that i ride through where my dad lives. in other news, the person i was riding with chugged a beer at this gas station before he took the pic.

alright ya'll, all done!!

it was brutal. crazy head winds yesterday. my knee is killing me

today was the day cycling was made for-- absolutely gorgeous

here is me at the first rest stop-- repping nc state!! (Actually there was a guy at the end of day 1 wearing a tshirt with a huge block S on it. i gave him the wolfpack sign & yelled out "goooo pack!!" he got excited. too bad my jacket was off by then because i was hot)



here is me crossing the brazos river into austin county (but not austin, austin yet)



and the margarita machines!!! my team is the coolest! we ended up stopping 3 mi before the finish today at this mexican place (team tradition) & we were passing out frozen margaritas to people passing by. it was loads of fun & of course, people loved it. once our team was gathered up we all rode in together



aaaand boom, the money shot!! (notice the capital in my wheel)




thank you tww & all the donors for your support. i found out today that the team i am on matches every dollar we raised with TWO dollars so every dollar you donated turned into 3 dollars-- pretty amazing!! will definitely be riding again in the future with the same team. we will see if i do it again next year or take a 1 year break

thanks! yes, i was professionally fitted but i have also learned that there are about 20 opinions on how a bike should be fitted so until you take the rubber to the road you don't really know what is working
