goddamn that name is perfect

Johnson isn't raw. Dude has great handles and knows what to do with the ball. He has been making some really slick passes. Shows that he is a senior.
11/13/2011 7:58:28 PM
11/13/2011 7:59:21 PM
^^ad forgotten he was a transfer and not freshman...he looked good though
11/13/2011 8:01:24 PM
^^^he did have 5 TOs last game and shot 2-12 or so. but i think that'll be one of his worst games.^^^^what "scrubs" are you referring to? walk-ons? baatle going 1/3 from 3? or maybe raymond? i thought he played ok. everyone else who played was a solid contributor.91-61[Edited on November 13, 2011 at 8:22 PM. vandenberg makes too many stupid foulsvandeberg needs to learn to go up strong with rebounds instead of passing them outhowell/painter looked really good tonight; though against UNC-A it looked like they were scared of using the backboard. need to work on that (lots of easy layups missed because they're trying that weak-ass finger roll shit; just bank it in)too many 3 pointer attempts (we have some decent shooters, but I don't know if we're that good to be thowing up every open 3 attempt we get.looks like we lost a lot of battles on the block (offense & defense)kinda the same as above, but the big men aren't playing like big men down low on the set offense; or they're at least struggling a lot.harris should be getting fewer minutes (good enthusiasm and determination, just not ready)[Edited on November 13, 2011 at 8:50 PM. 11/13/2011 8:47:11 PM
i'll agree with one of those at least
11/13/2011 9:26:53 PM
^^regarding harris: when a team is up by that much and has a player who is 'just not ready,' he should be getting MORE minutes, to give him game experience. otherwise, I agree.[Edited on November 13, 2011 at 9:30 PM. Reason : & ^]
11/13/2011 9:28:37 PM
johnson got nothin on me
11/13/2011 9:30:00 PM
^^well yeh. but it seems liked he's played quite a few minutes (other than scrub minutes) the last two games. maybe it's just my perception, but he seems to have played quite a bit (25 min over 2 games is a lot for him)[Edited on November 13, 2011 at 9:32 PM. Reason : ^]
11/13/2011 9:32:00 PM
^you also have to keep in mind that Thomas and Calvin are out right now. I'm pretty sure Harris won't see as many minutes moving forward. But he has played well and has decent stats for an unheralded freshman. He'll probably help us some this season and should be solid role player in the near future.^^i don't like talking shit about javi and i don't want to be presumptuous, but i'm thinking that AJohnson is going to be an upgrade this season[Edited on November 13, 2011 at 9:50 PM. 'for a freshman'exactly.
11/13/2011 9:49:40 PM
We shot the right amount of 3s. Anything wood throws up is a good shot.
11/13/2011 9:53:17 PM
we were jacking up threes in stretches in the second half but they werent "bad" threes, most were open off either offensive rebounds or dribble penetration.
11/13/2011 9:57:07 PM
Alex Johnson hasn't shot well thus far, but he did make more threes than Wood last year. and Scott tied reggie jackson @ #3 in the ACC @ 3pointers: 72 3s and 41.9% beyond the arc[Edited on November 13, 2011 at 10:23 PM. Reason : aj had 79 3s @ 34.6%]

I would have been there if I were in the state. I'm hoping I can catch some of the December and early January games. Sounds like tickets are abundant.
11/13/2011 10:35:44 PM
10082....That is half full. I know that's more than a lot of schools even hold but still. We've got potential now. People need to get out to the games. Herb and Lowe are long gone. Oh and Vandy lost to Cleveland State tonight, so that game isn't looking near as dread now.
11/13/2011 10:35:48 PM
I'll be there against Princeton on Wednesday!
11/13/2011 10:46:16 PM
My favorite line from this game is 26 assists on 33 FGs and only 12 turnovers.Love, love, love it.

It's obvious to me that no one has any confidence at all in Vandy. He wasn't even taking rebounds right under the basket back up for layups, and the guards weren't dishing him the ball when he was open down low. It was really sad. He played a lot of minutes and got only a couple of rebounds and no points (and like four blocks).
11/13/2011 11:54:46 PM
just finished watching the replay on espn3... wow, i have NEVER seen ball movement, cutting, well... people that look like they know what the fuck they are doing from an NCState bball team as far as i can remember.alex johnson is going to be the steal of the year and we're going to talk about this kid long after he's gone. What also felt good about this win, and even "The UNC-A" game was that we beat teams pretty handily that are well-coached and disciplined teams. How many friggin charges did we get called for? We weren't running up and down the court show-boating and dunking out to almost a 40pt lead, we methodically beat the hell out of a team.
11/13/2011 11:56:02 PM
he knows what he's here to do, which is be tall and get in the way.
11/13/2011 11:56:10 PM
that makes it 4v5 when we're on offense. +1 for the fast break picks, though....

Johnson shot 36% from the field last year. Granted, most of his shots were 3's, but he's not a good shooter.I like the frontcourt depth once Leslie and DeThaey are with the team. Seems like this team should be able to do well in the paint.
11/14/2011 12:28:29 AM
wasn't this guy being brought in to back up brown from the beginning? people got a little carried away here i think.

Vandy is worth his salt if he only sets one devastating screen a game like he did last night.
