I am going to try that too on a personal line. ^Sounds like a great idea in theory, but so did Boost mobile and that did not really catch on like I thought it would.

Here is the calculator for the new plans. http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/splash/shareEverythingCalculator.jspAlso after working for Verizon for 3 years and knowing very intimately how they operate, I can tell you for sure they are not throwing the hot spot feature in for free just to be a swell company, they know every kid/teen with an iPhone or Droid is going to buttrape their family plan data usage using the hotspot. No one goes over minutes anymore, they are losing revenue on overage charges, they hook you in with these streamlined plans your needs go up, you run data over, they make a killing.Once again Verizon strikes as the only wireless company with any business sense. i'm done paying for internet three damn times. I have my internet through roadrunner, and that's all I need. Paying 30 bucks for internet on each of our phones is just ridiculous. (more than what roadrunner costs!)
6/12/2012 11:46:36 AM
I'm on my own plan, so it appears I'll be dumping Verizon soon.
6/12/2012 11:50:13 AM
6/12/2012 11:53:27 AM
So I guess I won't be moving to Verizon when my AT&T contract runs up???
6/12/2012 11:55:42 AM
Wow, so my monthly fee is going up, greaatttt...
6/12/2012 11:56:15 AM
Only if you upgrade and sign a new contract. And they will still have the current per line tiers ($30 for 2gb, etc)
6/12/2012 12:03:55 PM
i'd like to upgrade from my thunderbolt, though...ESPECIALLY in a year
6/12/2012 12:05:04 PM
im holding out for the new iphone before I upgradeim on a family plan w/my sis and mom. Sis and i both have smartphones (droid original) and mom has basic phone, doesn't text. Our bill is about 180/mo. Carolyn has unlimited texts, i have 500/mo plus unlimited verizon texts. Combined sis and I never have gone over 1GB data usage.whats our new bill gonna be now? a brazillion?
6/12/2012 12:34:27 PM
Sounds like I need to upgrade my phone to 4g in the next 2 weeks, lock in my alltel plan for another couple of years...
6/12/2012 12:37:50 PM
^Explain, I may be in the same boat.
6/12/2012 1:20:47 PM
^once VZW releases shared plans, you'll be forced onto them when you sign a new contract. Until then, you can stay on your current plan. If you value your current plan, renew before the change
6/12/2012 1:23:06 PM
They're not going to touch existing plans. So assuming you already have unlimited, you can upgrade between now and the cut-off date and keep your current data plan. Then you should be good for the remainder of your contract. If you wait until after, you'll need to switch to one of the current tiered plans or switch to the Share Everything plan. You can also pay full retail or buy from craigslist/ebay after the change and keep your unlimited plan. No guarantee on how long Verizon will allow that though.
6/12/2012 1:24:17 PM
^ buying from CL is my plan ATM...sure, i'll never have a "new" phone (because those will be stupid expensive), but i might be able to nab a better phone and sell my thunderbolt for a net cost of $150-200 or so and it's not MUCH different than signing a new contract
6/12/2012 3:20:44 PM
Doesn't affect me that much. I can still get 4GB + a smart phone for $110 before my discount or tax, which will end up being the same as I pay now or less. I guess it's when you start having to pay $40 per smartphone that it starts adding up. One nice part is that you'll be getting unlimited minutes and texts with that $40...you'd just need a way to watch usage on the kids. I think they already have alerts in place right?]
6/12/2012 4:04:58 PM
6/12/2012 4:07:43 PM
6/12/2012 4:48:10 PM
Assuming they don't ban per line tiered data by then.
6/12/2012 4:58:31 PM
Cool that's what it sounded like to me too.
6/12/2012 5:03:10 PM
Okay...I'm trying to decide. Razr or Razr MAXX?
6/21/2012 8:00:12 PM
Battery Life is serious business, doesn't one have way better battery life?
6/21/2012 8:04:00 PM
Maxx by far, they are the same except the maxx has double the battery capacity. Ive got the razr and regret not having the extra capacity after a few weeks already, its only going to get worse as I use it more. Only upside it doesnt feel like a brick in my pocket, i can only imagine the heft of the maxx after adding a case or otterbox.
6/21/2012 8:21:19 PM
I love my Maxx. It usually has at least half a battery left by the end of the day. It's not that much thicker than the Razr.
6/21/2012 8:34:29 PM
Sweet. Thanks. I think the extra thickness will be worth the extra battery.
6/22/2012 1:56:11 AM
It doesn't really feel much thicker. The Razr is 9mm thick at it's thickest (near the top) and 7mm elsewhere. The maxxxx is 9mm the whole way. People bitching over this 2mm are stupid.Maxxxx is by far the way to go. My sister's Razr couldn't last a day (and won't last but a few hours now - bad battery). I can go 2 days with moderate useage.[Edited on June 22, 2012 at 8:29 AM. Reason : .]
6/22/2012 8:28:46 AM
The dude at the store tried to talk me into a regular razr so hard...said it had a battery software update a couple of weeks ago amd was only 4 hours behind the maxx now... Everything I've read said the maxx is way beyond everything else.
6/22/2012 6:09:40 PM
tock was probably low on the Razr Maxx, and they had plenty of regular Razrs in.
6/22/2012 7:22:00 PM
^haha, true.
6/22/2012 7:26:49 PM
^^ they had to order me a maxx H thead galaxy nexus in for 100...that was kind of tempting, but did go with the maxx....now for accessory shopping!
6/22/2012 7:45:13 PM
Better get those last second upgrades in today. And who on earth would buy the Razr over the Razr Maxx? well unless you're cheap]
6/27/2012 3:14:50 PM
Another vote for the Maxx Now the wait for the official ICS notification is killin' me...come on VZW...any day now
6/27/2012 6:47:12 PM
what's the big deal over ICS? what noticable difference will it make?
6/27/2012 6:48:44 PM
I am officially cancelling my verizon account and going without a god damn phone now. This is just bullshit.

^ I wish it was that simple. Gimme my update, Verizon!
6/30/2012 5:02:18 PM
It's what all the droid forums said to do if you have the droid razr.
6/30/2012 6:02:29 PM
yeah, it's supposedly available for pull as of yesterday.
6/30/2012 6:09:59 PM
I am charging up my Droid Razr to try it.
6/30/2012 6:13:34 PM
I did a manual pull on my RAZR maxx this morning.
6/30/2012 6:34:24 PM
my razr wont come on battery =0%
6/30/2012 6:56:52 PM

6/30/2012 8:25:10 PM
My bill dropped $50 with the new plan.BeforeTalk N Text 900- $89Unlimited Smartphone - $30Mobile Hotspot - $30Total: $149NowShare Everything Smartphone $402GB Data - $60Total $100The overage rate is $15 per GB, so on the off chance I go over here and there it is still cheaper. Plus I never have to update that stupid fucking friends and family list again!!!!! Also, I picked up a refurbished network extender for $99 (reg $249) so I have perfect signal in my house and basement now. [Edited on July 1, 2012 at 9:39 AM. Reason : Network Extender]
