that was a great game, glad celtics pulled it out for me... that series could be 2-0 either way.Have to admit Carmelo played awesome, you gotta wonder where that mentality is every game. Also, why is he hitting so many threes in New York? Overall his numbers are down a little across the board except 3 pointers he's shooting lights out since the trade.

4/19/2011 11:34:38 PM
if i were you i'd look at the silver lining...you nearly won the game on the road @Boston with 2 of your big 3 players out for part or all of the game...this isnt going to be some 4-0 sweep even though i still think the Celtics are the best team in the east
4/19/2011 11:37:43 PM
Yeah, well Knicks fans have been waiting a decade for a chance to really believe. Stealing one of those would have been huge for the NYC fans. Hoping we can pull game 3 to make this a series but the Celts are just cold blooded.

But they are too old also
4/20/2011 12:15:30 AM
i think Boston is the best team in the East
4/20/2011 12:16:23 AM
They aren't too old. Having three great old players and a really good young player is sitll a strong lineup. Their problem is the loss of perkins. His big body was a key to not only their defense but their offense with big screens.[Edited on April 20, 2011 at 1:21 AM. yeah powell really fell off last year. He was never productive at all really, but after last season the Lakers had to get rid of him even though he was butt buddies with Kobe. This was likely his last season in the league unless he works his ass off during the lockout and hopes everyone else shows up looking like Shawn Kemp did last time.Who ate Shawn Kemp? God damnit TreeTwista10, there you go again letting actual facts get in the way of The E Man's twisted reality. It's no secret that their supporting cast isn't the same as it was in their championship or runner-up years. But I doubt, in the history of the entire NBA, that a team has has the same playoff line-up in consecutive years. It's a pretty solid argument that the bench was better in previous years, but that doesn't mean this years Celtics aren't also a great team. This reminds me so much of last year. Everyone wrote off the Celtics in the playoffs because of a poor finish to the regular season, but they came within one game of a championship, and in all actuality, should have won it. It is very possible that they won't repeat that feat, but to suggest that they are #5 in their conference is about the dumbest thing I have seen in Sports Talk in a while.[Edited on April 23, 2011 at 8:05 AM. Celtics went 15-11 after the trade. You obviously are not using logic counting games against the knicks with two of their top players out as reasons they are better than the knicks. How many NBA teams can muster 3 point wins against a team with no pg, no post presence and 1 scorer on the court? AT HOMEI did not write the celtics off last year because they were clearly the best team in the east. This year they are the big 4 and thats it. They don't have the same defense either. KG was getting absolutely abused inside game 1 before the injuries. The celtics are a great team. Too bad the heat are greater(and the heat aren't even THAT great.)If you're going to call me stupid for not taking into the account the probability of billups and amare going out after game one then fine, you win.
4/23/2011 9:53:46 AM
So what you're saying is, that a team takes some time to adjust to its new players after a big trade. That's interesting. It's almost like the exact same thing happened to the Heat earlier in the season.
