6 hours 11 minutes...in what inning did they cut off beer sales?
5/26/2011 1:22:05 AM
couldve been the end of the 7th, ie about 3 hours or more with no drinkingalthough Philly might do it different, they might give out free beers in every extra inning
5/26/2011 1:24:52 AM
haha yeah, i have to admit, if i had to sit through 19 innings i would need a beer at about inning 11

Justin Upton 5/5 tonight with a HR and stealwtf is up with Arizona leading the division
5/30/2011 11:06:33 PM
Almost didn't play Upton this week in fantasy baseball. Would've been a terrible mistake.
5/31/2011 9:00:22 AM
Crazy how one small error can blow up a whole game. What should of been an easy dbl play ends up sparking a 5 run rally and costing us the game.
5/31/2011 10:51:44 PM
fucking A angels. How you gonna let Billy Butler take you yard with a 2 run walk off?
6/1/2011 7:02:02 PM
Ok let's do away with fan voting please. 6 Yankees leading the all-star voting at their positions? Come the fuck on. Derek Jeter has become Cal Ripken 2.0 I know and will always get voted in. They don't even have the best record in the league and outside of Granderson, most of these guys are putting up average numbers.
6/2/2011 1:20:15 AM
Fan voting is HORRIBLE. if anything let the players vote in the people who make the Team and then let the fans pick the starters...
6/2/2011 6:07:25 PM
Cardinals starter is making his MLB debut, and is pitching on three days restLolRussa
6/2/2011 7:29:32 PM
Let's just do away with the Yankees instead.

6/6/2011 10:29:28 PM
Mazzoni goes in 2nd round to Mets, 71st overall
6/7/2011 12:25:05 PM
Poor guy. Tommy John Surgery within a year.I'm pretty sure that when the suck that is the Mets combines with the suck that is NCSU athletics the rapture comes.
6/7/2011 1:10:37 PM
the A's went from 1.5 games back to 7 back in about a week. nicely done.
6/7/2011 1:13:12 PM
Brett Austin, some kid who had signed with us, was a sandwich pick for the PadresMore noteworthy is that this guy was born in fucking 1993
6/7/2011 1:15:32 PM
Ha, Cubs drafted Wayne Gretzky's son in the 7th round.
6/7/2011 5:59:28 PM
A's fired Bob GerenIf you gave me a thousand guesses, I wouldn't have been able to tell you that the A's were managed by Bob Geren
6/9/2011 12:44:19 PM
Read that as Bob Green. Just goes to show the anonymity of Bob Geren.
6/9/2011 12:47:19 PM
Who?
6/9/2011 12:53:20 PM
6/9/2011 12:56:58 PM
honestly, what's the point of a 50 round draft?
6/9/2011 2:28:49 PM
It's the most retarded draft in all of sports for many reasons, but that isn't one of them. (see Ernie's follow up)]
6/9/2011 2:48:45 PM
High turnover, not everyone signs, draft-and-follow players, six or seven farm clubs, etc.
6/9/2011 2:49:14 PM
Yeah, I think it has a lot to do with the fact that MLB teams field a ton of teams (summer ball, low A, high A, AA, AAA, major league team).
6/9/2011 3:00:14 PM
I posted in another thread
6/9/2011 3:41:42 PM
6/9/2011 3:49:12 PM
A number of late rounders get drafted to field organizational teams with no intention of ever being brought up to the Bigs.
6/9/2011 8:04:47 PM
^^^ which is such a simplification it isn't worth commenting on, but I'll humor you.The draft is very important. Even the Yankees don't have the budget to buy ANYONE they want. They use the draft and shrewd trades to have 10-15 players on their 25-man roster who are pre-arbitration or arbitration eligible that they don't have to pay exorbitant amounts of money too. Also, the landscape has totally changed in that the elite players are now being signed by their draft teams and buying out their first few years of free agency. It's harder and harder to just go out and sign teams of FA's. They have to give up prospects to get players before paying them.
6/9/2011 8:10:12 PM
Heard a rumor on the radio the Mets intentionally drafted players early who will go to college just so they don't have to pay them. (Thanks to Bernie)
6/9/2011 8:48:27 PM
Both the Arkansas commits are going to sign. They pretty much said so themselves. Was it Adam Gold who said that?
6/9/2011 8:49:24 PM
Some guy from the MLB channel on Sirius.
