Okay, my picks are in and it's total bullshit. I spent approximately 3 minutes making my picks. I just hope I'm not the worst picker this year. [Edited on March 17, 2011 at 12:25 AM. Reason : 4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!]]

I hate my bracket and no matter how much I tinker with it I don't feel confident at all with it. I could easily see all 4 #1 seeds making the final 4, but I don't want to pick that. My bracket could definitely be a disaster...
3/17/2011 12:35:21 AM
This would be an ideal method for selecting the next sports talk mod
3/17/2011 9:58:07 AM
Three of my four regions have the top four seeds in the sweet 16, other one has the top three]
3/17/2011 10:00:46 AM
my bracket is pretty top heavy too, the sweet sixteen is all 1-4 seeds, and the final four is all 1 seedsI want to go back and play with it again, but I am trying to do the whole "stick with your first instincts" thing
3/17/2011 10:03:06 AM
I have Pitt as the weakest 1, but they have such a weak bracket I have them coming out of itFlorida as a 2? Come on
3/17/2011 10:05:38 AM
I'm hung up on the Kansas St vs. Utah St and Wisconsin vs. Belmont matchups this year
3/17/2011 10:14:10 AM
I went out on a limb with a Duke, Pitt, Syracuse, Purdue Final Four which means they will all be out in the first or second round
3/17/2011 10:18:01 AM
^^Utah St. has a Kenpom rating of #16, (KSU is 29) plus it's a 5/12 matchup, so I went with Utah St.Belmont isn't far behind at #18. I'm picking Belmont as the only 4/13 upset of the tourney.I had all 1's in the final four, so I had to force myself to go back and change it
3/17/2011 10:25:06 AM
I think I have 2 bracket's in the group. I'm gonna say that my 2nd one is the one to judge me by (for the record, so I don't get called out in the future).
3/17/2011 10:34:00 AM
Anyone with 2 brackets is a crockBut, you're a girl, so we'll make an exception
3/17/2011 10:37:31 AM
the only acceptable reasons to have multiple brackets are if you are playing them for money or a major player is questionable to play (i.e. Irving) and outcomes could be affected, but only that region and the F4 (if you put the team that far) can be different between the brackets[Edited on March 17, 2011 at 10:42 AM. Reason : for the record i still only have 1 bracket]
3/17/2011 10:42:44 AM
In 2008, all four #1 seeds made it to the Final Four:UNC, Kansas, UCLA, Memphis
3/17/2011 10:47:08 AM
Thanks for the history lesson, Joe Lunardi. Tell us more.
3/17/2011 10:49:18 AM
Im in a yahoo league where the first round receives an upset bonus of (high seed - low seed) x 2. I have upsets galore in the first round. Pretty much any game in which I have the winner getting knocked out in the subsequent round, I picked the upset.Picking the winner is only worth 2 pts in itself, so I figure if it hit on one or two of the upsets (which is bound to happen) i'll come out even, and any more than that is gravy. My bracket probably won't be the prettiest in terms of overall wins/losses, but I think I gave myself a good chance to win it.
3/17/2011 10:52:18 AM
^this is why I really kinda prefer straight up scoringI think if you don't get bonuses or extra points for later rounds it makes you really try to think who will win not just how the points manipulate best.
3/17/2011 10:57:46 AM
Yeah, I made 5 brackets. One bracket was where I actually chose my guesses. The others were where I automatically advanced the 1s and 2s to the sweet 16, then flipped 2 coins (3 if the lower seed was 7 or more less than the higher seed) for each match-up. If they both came up as tails, the lower seed won. Then, at the elite 8, it was heads or tails (heads to the higher seed always), and did that till the championship. So far, one of these coin flipping brackets has beaten me 3 years in a row. Well, technically I made 6. The other one was a straight heads or tails bracket that I like to do every year. 15 seed Long Island U won the tournament (yes, that means UNC lost in the first round)BTW, FIRST POST HERE WOOT
3/17/2011 10:59:24 AM
^^I tend to agree, but thats the way the commish did it this year, so i rolled with it...I just hope nobody else realizes the flaw in that scoring system [Edited on March 17, 2011 at 10:59 AM. Reason : ^]
3/17/2011 10:59:31 AM
^^ welcome!! Yeah I started off with only one entry and five days later I have made 4 others, plus physically forced my bf who has no interest whatsoever in sports into making up one
3/17/2011 11:08:45 AM
I went chalk on the left side but have Notre Dame and St Johns on the right. The Southeast is the suckiest region by far, I didn't want to put any of them in the final four.
3/17/2011 11:18:00 AM
wait, we are allowing more than one entry in the TWW group?what happened to the...SHEET OF INTEGRITY.
3/17/2011 11:30:38 AM
of course there's only one entry in the tww group(ESPN allows up to 10 total entries for the big MONIES)[Edited on March 17, 2011 at 11:38 AM. Reason : ]
3/17/2011 11:37:56 AM
I only did oneI recommend immediate suspend/ban/terminates for anyone who submitted multiple brackets.
3/17/2011 11:38:09 AM
@ 146 people playing
3/17/2011 11:40:36 AM
Got that ESPN bracket app
3/17/2011 11:45:25 AM
What's been the typical turnout in the past?Too bad there's no easy way for everyone to throw 5 or 10 bucks in
3/17/2011 11:46:20 AM
paypal would be easy
3/17/2011 11:48:02 AM
~ 60-75I think we've hit 100 once before
3/17/2011 11:48:16 AM
Paypal would be easy, but how many people would really pay?I'd rather have 140 people to compete against for free than maybe the 30 or so who would do a paid bracketWe all know TWWers are some of the cheapest motherfuckers on the planetBesides, most people are in office pools for money. This is for TWW supremacy, which is infinitely more valuable[Edited on March 17, 2011 at 11:56 AM. Reason : x]
3/17/2011 11:55:27 AM

3/17/2011 2:57:36 PM
i, too, am rooting for temple, but i have them winning
3/17/2011 2:58:00 PM
Dammit, I had ODU beating Butler. Oh well as long as Pitt beats them I'm ok.
3/17/2011 2:59:57 PM
kinda wanted Butler to lose so Brad Stevens could, you know, be talked to
3/17/2011 3:01:25 PM
Temple has had some injuries. The fact they had as good of a year as they did is impressive.
3/17/2011 3:07:35 PM
Only 49 of us still perfectThe view from the top is lovely
3/17/2011 3:07:39 PM
3/17/2011 3:07:44 PM
Butler made it to the Championship Game last year. I figured Brad Stevens could at least make it past the second round.
3/17/2011 3:11:53 PM
1 perfect bracket contender left in the group...who actually picks Morehead St
3/17/2011 4:00:29 PM
Great start to the tourney, between the butler win, louisville loss and all the close games in action I am so glad I worked from home today.
