5/30/2011 9:39:09 AM

5/30/2011 9:43:46 AM
what job do you fancy better?you're at a school that holds football in the highest regard, in a state where everyone loves the shit out of you, with an unlimited budget and in a shitty conference that people somehow respect. it is the best job in football.[Edited on May 30, 2011 at 9:48 AM. Reason : to boot, the school you MUST beat, michigan, sucks.]

BESIDES THAT
5/30/2011 9:59:20 AM
Texas and Alabama for sure. Quite a few others on par with Ohio State to the point where the coach wouldn't leave that school for OSU.
5/30/2011 10:02:00 AM
Penn State, Florida, possibly Nebraska.
5/30/2011 10:04:55 AM
okay dude, of course there are schools that a coach wouldn't leave for ohio state, but alabama is in the SEC and has defending national champs auburn in the same state. likewise, texas is in a hard conference and has to keep up w/ bob stoops, who is young and a top 3 coach in the game.ohio state doesn't have to do shit.PENN STATE? ARE YOU JOKING? HOW IN THE FUCK IS PENN STATE A BETTER JOB THAN OHIO STATE? THEY'RE THE SAME FUCKING SCHOOL EXCEPT ONE'S IN A STATE THAT LOVES COLLEGE FOOTBALL TO DEATH AND ONE'S IN A STATE THAT JERKS OFF TO THE EAGLES AND STEELERS, AND I SAY THIS AS SOMEONE POSTING FROM PENNSYLVANIA.[Edited on May 30, 2011 at 10:06 AM. Reason : penn state get the fuck out of here]
5/30/2011 10:05:02 AM
So you are saying that Ohio State is a better job than Texas? Not chance in hell.Don't get me wrong it is probably somewhere between 4-8 in the best college football jobs in America but without question not better than UT.
5/30/2011 10:09:02 AM
UT is probably the best job in the country, after that there are about 6-10 schools with jobs that are pretty similar and on the same level.you should stop being a ohio state fanboy and realize this.(NCSU is included in that 6-10 schools )[Edited on May 30, 2011 at 10:13 AM. Reason : derp]
5/30/2011 10:12:34 AM
you're fucking crazy if you think that ohio state is only a 4-8 job.ohio state fanboy? check my posting history mane, in no way am i an ohio state fan.[Edited on May 30, 2011 at 10:13 AM. Reason : .]

5/30/2011 10:20:18 AM
Butch Davis to Ohio State. You heard it here first.
5/30/2011 10:52:07 AM
lots, indeed. There's no definitive way to say that any school is THE BEST job in the country, but certainly OSU has to be in the top 5 based on budget, facilities, tradition, and fanbase.
5/30/2011 10:57:45 AM
Definitley not the best job in college football. Top 5 or maybe top 3, but not the best.
5/30/2011 11:04:18 AM
I would lol like hell if BD took the OSU job and then UNC got raped by the NCAA
5/30/2011 11:14:05 AM
BD to Ohio State would require firing up the roflcopter.

The real life part of me is indifferent. But the TWW part of me, the part of me that takes great pleasure in even the most trivial of DROD900's misfortunes, is absolutely fucking estatic.

I like that Herbstreit more or less said he was fired for "being too loyal to his players"
5/30/2011 5:06:59 PM
yeah, then mark may came on immediately after and pretty much called him out about it
5/30/2011 5:12:23 PM
Look guys, Tressel was really dedicated to lying and breaking the rules. So were his players, and he did everything he could to support his guys. He was the ultimate player's coach. Crown his ass.
5/30/2011 5:20:25 PM
now there's a separate investigation about Pryor supposedly getting multiple cars while on campus. lovely.
5/30/2011 5:38:08 PM
They got Pryor multiple cars when all we can afford to get Mario Williams is a motorized razor scooter!?

^^ aaah, i fucking love that article. I am so sick of ESPN defending these big name programs every time they get in trouble. This kind of scathing criticism should be everywhere in the media.

well I hate to see Tressel go, but its becoming more and more obvious that he had no control over his team off the football field. Hell of a coach, and I do think he is deep a down a good guy, he just made way too many dumb decisions that snowballed into where it is today. I'll be interested to see if Gene Smith makes it to next season as the AD, sounds like he will have a ton of questions to answer now that Tressel wont be around to take the full brunt of the heat.I'm more pissed off at the players than I am at Tressel at this point and I'm going to have a hard time rooting for a team that still has Pryor et. al on the roster. Tressel shouldnt have covered up for them, or turned a blind eye to them, there is no doubt about that but the players should know better. I just think the Ohio State football celebrity status got to the players heads and made them think that they are above the law.Its pretty funny to read Ohio State fans reactions and see how pissed they are at ESPN for blowing this story up and pushing it to the boiling point that resulted in Tressel stepping down. If this kind of publicity and scrutiny was placed on the current UNC investigation, Butch wouldve been fired months ago.As far as the next coach is concerned, I cant wait to see how the search goes. I know that Urban Meyer says he doesnt want the job, but we'll see he feels a year from now when the search really starts. Two other big names that are circling around are Jon Gruden and Tony Dungy. I think any of those guys would be great fits and could instill come off-field discipline into a team that obviously had none. I would like to see how Fickell fares as a head coach, he is a total badass, so I could see him being a good disciplinarian. Bo Pelini is another possibility for a coach, since he was a former team captain for the Buckeyes[Edited on May 31, 2011 at 8:54 AM. Reason : asdf]
5/31/2011 8:50:15 AM
^ Do you think those types of coaches would jump on the job with all the forthcoming restrictions handed down from the NCAA?
5/31/2011 9:16:01 AM
depends on how bad the sanctions are. If they are SMU sanctions where you are virtually unable to win no matter how good of a coach you are, then no they probably cant get a top tier coach. If they are USC type sanctions, then I think they can.

There is no way in the world that OSU would hire Butch Davis when he is facing his own NCAA infractions. Maybe if he had a clean record, then he would be on the list, especially since he has ties to Ohio being the Browns coach at one point. But, I've obviously been wrong before, so who knows
