Yeah there definitely seems to be a limited supply of the collectors edition, but I can appreciate (and even applaud) that since having a limited amount is what makes it a collectors item

And finally, the same expression Shepard ALWAYS HAS. Because there has been no development of his character.[Edited on March 1, 2012 at 9:28 PM. Reason : fsdfsdfsd]

I like how his little LED flashlight keeps changing positions on his shoulder... And his tactical vest is missing the shoulder side protectors if you want to be realistic. It just looks like a dude running around with a gun in a down vest with a light stuck on it... lol
3/1/2012 10:08:24 PM
Did BEU just equate facial animations with character development?
3/1/2012 10:12:00 PM
Does shepard have other facial expressions?
3/1/2012 10:22:15 PM
A couple, but some of them look retarded. And it's hard to do too much character development in a game where the player controls the dialogue. Best you can hope for is character development in your teammates, and that's decent.

someone didn't spend the 50k credits in facial surgery!

*** Spoiler Alert ***Reapers are actually space dogs...
3/6/2012 11:22:26 AM
So what lame way do the writers kill off the reapers?does shepard run and gun and take over the boss reaper? Pull out the reaper's power cord? Activate some secret reaper control plot device? Magic reaper killing radio frequency?DAMMIT, picked it up after work and BOOM http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/mass-effect-3/user-reviewslooks like another mindless dumbed down version, perhaps worse than ME2? [Edited on March 6, 2012 at 3:05 PM. Reason : metacritic]
3/6/2012 3:01:49 PM
Wow.Havent played it but jeese that looks bad
3/6/2012 3:29:49 PM
The discrepancy between what the public thinks and what the "critics" think in the videogame industry is laughable. These guys (especially IGN) should be ran off the face of the internet. Hopefully in 10 years we can look back on this one big gigantic ball fondling party as a joke.
3/6/2012 3:34:51 PM
User reviews haven't been worth shit in about 5 years.[Edited on March 6, 2012 at 3:36 PM. Reason : "I'm mad about some small detail! GAME DESERVES A ZERO!"]
3/6/2012 3:35:30 PM
User reviews are usually more accurate and actually criticize the game on a deeper level than the big website reviewers who get incentives to do good reviews for ad money and special treatment from the developers (especially IGN).
3/6/2012 3:42:20 PM
They are far from accurate. Like I said if they are mad at a game for whatever reason (DLC, Only available on Origin, They hate gays) they will seek to influence a score as much as they can, and they do that by giving it the poorest grade possible, a zero.I'd rather trust some big review site any day.Notice that none of those reasons even have anything to do with the game itself, they are purely philosophical.
3/6/2012 3:46:53 PM
A zero is harsh. If people want to sound credible they shouldn't jump to such extremes. However, it is nice to be able to get some real criticisms about a game before you buy it and you won't get none of that except for complaints about frame rate drops on big review sites. I want to know what the game didn't do right.I am especially annoyed by the constant dumbing down of games and DLC on release day. I enjoyed ME2 but that back lash for ME3 seems pretty big. I haven't checked out user reviews on metacritic on a day one release before though.[Edited on March 6, 2012 at 3:56 PM. Reason : .]
3/6/2012 3:55:44 PM
User reviews are shit for most any entertainment medium. Most folks will give 9s or 10s to anything they fancy and 0s or 1s to anything they don't care for. Being objectionable never enters the equation for these people. Its either "I love it" or "Fuck this shit". There is no middle ground.
3/6/2012 4:05:12 PM
Crappy user reviews won't deter me from buying a game that I may very well enjoy. Like always, I'm going to rely more on the proper review websites and my close circle of gaming friends who I find as a more credible source than internet trolls on MC.I too am quite bored by all of the dumbing down of video games; we can thank stupid console players. I mean I still haven't played through some of the more modern games single player campaigns like Black Ops, BF3 and MW3 just because the SP gameplay is such a bore.
3/6/2012 4:08:34 PM
wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't a horde of 4chan fags flooding it with bad reviews
3/6/2012 4:12:55 PM
Naw ViolentMAW is right. All the big company reviews are worthless, especially in this case. The score inflation has been ridiculous. Rate everything high so they agree to do interviews prerelease and yatta yatta. The user reviews are coming from the small, "hardcore" "dedicated" there since game 1 fans that take the time to write reviews, and they are dead on. Mass Effect has turn into a mindless run and gun sexy space action game for mindless gamers. The fact that they were advertising ME3 as "A great place to start the trilogy" is a slap to the face of any players that liked ME1. I will shit on the game further once I have finished it, but from watching videos/reading reviews/playing some of it... (as expected)[Edited on March 6, 2012 at 4:23 PM. Reason : .]
3/6/2012 4:22:56 PM
^ I can't say the 4chan thing didn't cross my mind. The stream of constant 0s and 1s is a little suspicious. From what I briefly skimmed this one was pretty funny.
3/6/2012 4:24:43 PM
Yea, the DLC is just EA trying to squeeze as much money out of the trilogy as they can. Same with COD: Elite. Make one great game, then make sequels that are worse and worse just with more marketing and gimmicks... then squeeze more money out of the idiots stupid enough to buy it.ME 1 ----> DLC/ME3COD4 -----> MW3/Elite/DLCHalo --------> ODST
3/6/2012 4:39:23 PM
Buying Uncharted 3 was it for me. Shit was shit.

Several hours into the game, from the looks of the war room on the Normandy there may actually be some epic ship battle ending, but it looks like the writers did bring in some magic anti-reaper plot device that can only be activated if Shepard does agrees to run and shoot random bad guys on random planets. ^^ The mindless run and gun and bang chicks in space applies to ME2 and ME3.Edit: This game might actually be better than ME2[Edited on March 6, 2012 at 7:36 PM. Reason : ..]
3/6/2012 7:35:06 PM
Man I wish it could be like the old days when you rarely fought anyone in an RPG, and when you did it was a chore.
3/6/2012 8:48:05 PM
So I don't have an Xbox Gold account and don't care about playing this multiplayer at all. Redeeming the online code would be a waste, right, or are there other things you can do besides multiplayer? Can I sell the code on ebay for a couple of bucks?
3/6/2012 8:51:47 PM
^^^what's the "mining ore" "scan planets for minerals" tedious part of ME3?
3/6/2012 9:01:54 PM
^^what is the code for, does it say? If you sell your game when done then you could get a higher price out of it.
3/6/2012 9:21:16 PM
It just says "online features" Which obviously means multiplayer, but I didn't know if it meant anything else. And yeah, I would hope I would get more for it when I'm done if I don't use it, but I will use it if it's worth anything to me. I dunno.
3/6/2012 9:28:18 PM
Seriously?
3/6/2012 10:00:14 PM
lol. is this game as bad as it looks?
3/6/2012 10:01:17 PM
^^That is some serious Bullshit. I really do think this is the last EA game I will ever purchase. I don't play games that much anyway, but it really does feel like they just see customers as cows that need to be milked for as much cash as possible. (I say this as my $10 Day One DLC is being downloaded. )
3/6/2012 10:10:18 PM
i'd say dont buy it on consoles, but the pc version requires origin which is horrible
3/6/2012 10:18:09 PM
3/6/2012 10:28:00 PM
Supposedly you don't HAVE to do multiplayer and doing sidequests can meet the requirements for the best ending.
3/6/2012 11:18:35 PM
3/6/2012 11:20:08 PM
I think it's EA's equivalent of Steam. Or at least their attempt to copy it.

3/6/2012 11:29:21 PM
You don't have to mineral scan, its the same ME2 galaxy map navigation though, you use a scan that checks any planet/moon/ship within some radius of your ship, then just send one probe to collect secret treasure or some bullshit. The funny part is if you scan too much, reapers notice and come attack you via the galaxy map screen and you have to run away from them like pac man lol
