Functionality they work fine. I've only used the pre-ground shitty folgers coffee that the office supplies and it was a tad weak. It was drinkable and it's free coffee. So I'll see how long I stick with it. The coffee I've had in the k-cups were much better. Would recommend overall.
11/17/2012 3:48:19 PM
if you're going to use this, why not just save money and get a single cup coffee maker? whats the point of this product, isn't the benefit of keurig that you get to use their capsules instead of buying coffee in bulk and scooping?

^^^ I will eventually. Wanted to use the office coffee as a baseline.

my girlfriend has been hinting at one of these for awhile. i'm not a coffee drinker habitually. I've probably drank two cups all year. that being said, i know these things range in sizes from small the very large. what model is best for just a single user?
12/4/2012 9:23:24 AM
^just get the cheapest model, imho. Last Christmas got my gf the 'then' cheapest model at $100. We both use it, and like it - it's just the ticket for a '1-2cups every few days or so' usage.

thanks!

Oh sh it just realized we had a keurig at my old job. Most of it was gross and tasted like it had never been cleaned ever but I know they cleaned it all the timeYeah we had the Office Pro. The tea pack things are terrible.I'm Krallum and I approved this message./]

Sorry Keurig owners, but Bunn came out with this a couple of months ago to pretty good reviewshttp://www.bunnathome.com/products/single-serve/my-cafe-mcuIt's a 4 in 1 machine that brews k-cups, pods, ground coffee, tea bags or you can use it for hot water. I like hot tea, but the k-cup versions of tea kinda suck. My wife likes coffee and hot chocolate so that's why this will be under our tree. So far they've said the pump issues you sometimes get with the Keurig machines shouldn't happen due to design. With the ground coffee feature it'll save on having to waste a lot of plastic or buy a reusable cup since there's one built in. Here's a video about it in case you're interested, you like the k-cups, but maybe want to try something different. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RNoa6mFzavQ

a friend of mine just got some fancy Keurig and gave me his Boschits pretty nice but i have not used it yet.
12/4/2012 11:22:02 AM
should i get one? how expensive do the k-cups get? i got spoilt because team has a machine and i pretty much drink 2-3 cups thru the day at work and now i need coffee early mornings/weekends and miss the stuff thats available at work. someone told me about this super machinehttp://www.wholelattelove.com/Saeco/saeco_vienna_plus_silver.cfm

I pay like .33c/cup by registering random brewers I find on display at walmart and staples and such. You can do it 3 times per address. Dunno where I'll have them shipped after the next two times but that should be a while.
1/11/2013 2:46:58 PM
Wait, you are paying for the K-Cups still? Just buy any coffee in bulk, grind it yourself, and drink it from the Keurig like a boss.http://www.soap.com/p/solofill-cup-refillable-k-cup-for-keurig-k-cup-brewers-153678?site=CA&utm_source=Google&utm_medium=cpc_S&utm_term=ZQB-739&utm_campaign=GoogleAW&CAWELAID=1323148862&utm_content=pla&adtype=pla&cagpspn=pla[Edited on January 11, 2013 at 3:24 PM. If I wanted to grind coffee and clean a filter every day I wouldn't have got a keurig.Ordered a brooklyn beans sampler pack, 40 kcups of like 12 varieties for $22.
1/11/2013 3:43:09 PM
My Keruig is starting to make very strange noises. The coffee comes out in squirts not a steady stream.
1/12/2013 12:27:13 AM
I won a Keurig at a Christmas party. I have never been a regular coffee drinker... maybe a Starbucks once a month when I have to commute 2 hours into the Boston office at 6am. That being said, I LOVE my Keurig now - I use it almost everyday. It came with a My KCup so I can use regular ground coffee occasionally - perfect because I bought DD Pumpkin back in the fall. My aunt got me 2 EkoBrew cups - I use this empty just to make hot water.I'm still getting to know what coffees to choose, so I buy cheapy k-Cups from Marshalls/TJ Maxx - usually $8 for an 18-pack. Never pay more than $0.50 per cup (a bit expensive compared to normal coffee makers, but much cheaper than Starbucks/DD).
1/12/2013 11:26:59 AM
there was a slickdeal today for 2 refillable k-cups for like 11 bucks on amazon.
1/12/2013 9:41:21 PM
So the wife and I got the Bunn MyCafe over Christmas and we both like it a lot. We've used k-cups in there and they have worked fine. I've used it for hot water for tea and that worked. I also tried the tea bag in the pod attachment and that worked okay. I think I'll try the pulse next time I do that. We even got a small bag of coffee and the filter it comes with worked great. Only complaint so far was the initial few uses had a weird plastic taste and smell. We could have run vinegar through it but didn't. For her the taste and smell went away after a week, for me about two weeks of it being used once a day, sometimes twice.

what's the best online store to purchase in bulk?
7/10/2013 3:22:13 PM
No idea why people go for fake coffee instead of an espresso machine. Takes 2 extra minutes. Mayne they just get them because they look cool
7/10/2013 5:01:27 PM
Fake coffee? It's not instant. Expresso machines require more time to set up, warm up, prep, and clean.
7/10/2013 6:33:53 PM
^its concentrate. might as well be instant. sure as hell isn't fresh and coffee is a thing that really needs to be freshnot really. at 200 dollars (price of a nice keurig), you can get a quite nice espresso machine with a timer. i have a cheap 30 dollar one and it honestly takes me 2 minutes to setup every morning 5 minutes to brew and 2 minutes to clean. Basically I am spending 4 minutes, less money and getting top quality.[Edited on July 11, 2013 at 1:46 PM. Reason : k]

I think I'm going to purchase one. I bought a press and its not all that I hoped.
7/11/2013 3:45:46 PM
Any thoughts? How do you like yours?
10/31/2014 8:30:04 PM
I'm still on the fence. I drink a lot of coffee, so it is really easier for me to just brew 10 cups in a regular coffee maker.
10/31/2014 9:04:46 PM
The wife likes it.
11/7/2014 10:22:05 PM
Lowe's (home improvement, not grocery store) has a good selection of 18-packs on clearance right now. Used my 10% coupon and got my favorite dark roast for $0.37/cup
11/7/2014 10:24:44 PM
Trying to get rid of my B70 Platinum btw.. only used it for a month tbh lol
11/7/2014 10:27:29 PM
I love keurigs... almost every job I've been to has them. At my full time job, I've got the reuseable k-cups so its super cheap. I believe I can make coffee at around 10-15 cents per cup, depending on what coffee I buy. That price doesn't include sugar and cream, but its a lot cheaper than most people paying 50-75 cents for just a cup of coffee without cream or sugar (if you are a cream and sugar person). With that said, i've also seen many keurigs break and get tossed in the trash. so for the money, i wouldn't ever buy myself a machine.[Edited on November 7, 2014 at 11:11 PM. I've had one, and they're kinda fun. But, eventually, you gotta be honest with yourself: the coffee is either weak, or the cup is extra small. A regular coffeemaker makes coffee cheaper, stronger, and tastier.I think it'd be cool to have one of those coffeemakers where you put the whole beans in the night before, and it grinds/brews them for you in the morning. But they supposedly have their problems as well.Meh.
11/28/2014 5:58:31 PM
For the people who have a newer Keurig. You can brew any kind of kcup, or the refillable ones, with this trick.http://money.cnn.com/2014/12/11/technology/security/keurig-hack/index.html?hpt=hp_t2
12/12/2014 7:26:39 AM
I've used these a handful of times at friends' houses over the years and I have never understood why these are so popular. I'm missing something.
12/12/2014 8:25:26 AM
I've had a Keurig for years, but got tired of spending $$ on K-cups. So now I just drop a spoonful of instant coffee in the cup, use Keurig as a hot water dispenser basically.
12/12/2014 8:27:32 AM
^^what's not to get? for most people coffee is just a means to an end. it's a habitual thing more than an enjoyment of the taste and finer qualities of coffee. keurig provides single serving, little cleanup, and quick brew time. especially in social settings where everyone's tastes are different. i don't think anyone would argue that keurig provides a superior tasting cup of coffee in comparison to the more boutique brewing methods.^gross]

I'm not really a coffee connoisseur or coffee snob at all. I enjoy it and drink a cup or so a day, maybe 2 at home on the weekends. I have some preferences but it's not the taste that I don't get even though the taste has been mixed results for me. I'm just talking about filter drip coffee vs keurig.I can agree in a social setting if you have several people all with completely different coffee tastes (I don't find that to really be too common - and those that are pickier probably aren't stoked to get it from a keurig anyway) that it could be convenient. That's probably the main benefit. The amount of times that we have people over in the mornings for coffee though is a fraction of a percent of the times the two of us drink coffee at home so maybe that's the reason I don't get it.It's just that brewing a pot of filtered drip coffee for one or two people is so simple with little cleanup as is. I just didn't find the keurig to big that much more convenient. You've still got to put water in the machine. That's a wash. So you're talking about a a few spoons of grounds and a filter vs a cup. Additionally, with every additional cup of coffee from a traditional drip method you're increasing convenience versus a Keurig. (no extra prep or cleanup - it's pour ready). I don't think it's stupid or anything to that level. I just don't get why they are so fawned over or touted as so convenient. It seems fractionally more convenient for a strictly single serve setting at an insane markup.[Edited on December 12, 2014 at 9:59 AM. Reason : ]

I only find it convenient for an office setting. No one wants to be the person to always set up a pot or the person to clean it up at the end. People also drink coffee at all different times of the day. You pretty much can't beat being able to pop a cup in whenever you want, get a quick cup, and not have to clean up anything. I don't see how everyone doesn't get that. With that being said...I'm about to toss the old Keurig I have in my office. I don't think I kept it very clean in the beginning and I refuse to drink it now that I think that there is bacteria everywhere. We're about to add another room or two to the office...so I might spring for a bigger/nicer version at some point. I'd do a drip machine, but we don't have the amenities to keep one operating, IMO (only have one tiny sink).
12/12/2014 10:05:49 AM
for an office setting definitely. as long as someone is cleaning it.
