they should do a study where they find out how much each race tips.

they should do a study where they find out who gives a fuck.

We gave you free service for 400 years without a tip.

Black people don't tip at a higher rate than white people even when you provide good service.Having a tip line on a receipt only confuses people like wdprice3 who hate everyone in the world and think every person is out to steal his money from him. I can tell you from working in a crappy service job for awhile now that no one expects tips for doing their jobs in those settings. It's still nice when it happens though.Tipping for carry-out at a place like Outback or Applebee's is expected though. It doesn't take much, just a dollar or two. If you place a large order on short notice during peak business hours and the place provides even adequate service you're a dick for not tipping though. Can we end this thread now so that we can start a new tipping thread?^ Did you, personally, give us service for free? Because I sure as fuck haven't reaped any rewards from this arrangement other than having shit like that thrown in my face for some shit I never participated in. Being reminded that some rich assholes who happened to have the same color skin as me did some bad shit centuries ago is reward enough I suppose.[Edited on May 12, 2012 at 11:43 AM. Reason : ]

Got some take out pizza from Pizza Hut the other night. Cashier looked pissed I didn't leave her a tip. I'm amazed they even put a tip line at those places. Half the reason I'm picking up is to avoid the tip + delivery charge. I tip the hell out of drivers, but not the person who grabs my pizza out of the warmer. [/rant]

Maybe the cashier was just a pissy person in general.

while we're on the topic of restaurants and stereotypes, has anyone ever figured out why black people always/usually ask for straws?
8/29/2012 10:43:17 AM
You can drink more in a shorter period of time with a straw so they can maximize the value of their drink purchase?
8/29/2012 10:49:44 AM
black people have a weird aversion to drinking out of restaurant glasses. apparently there are more germs on the cups than on their cutlery or plate??

fuck straws, i'm not 12
8/29/2012 11:02:11 AM
My wife still uses straws since her teeth are super-sensitive to coldness. I occasionally use straws at home for smoothies or something like that. We have glass and stainless steel straws though which I kind of like At a restaurant I never ask for a straw.

I like to put straws together and try and drink someone's drink across the table.

i use straws because you never know how clean the glass is or how clean the people's hands are who touching the top of the glass before it gets to your table.
