$25 of food for $12 at Luxury Box. For those that live near Glenwood between Brier Creek and Pleasant Valley, it's a good deal. I regularly go up to Lynnwood, but am being turned off by how crowded it is. Luxury Box usually has seats open at the bar and has good food (wraps, sandwiches, quiche) and most of it is between $7-9.https://www.zspotdeals.com/referral/51287.html

I think I am behind the times by like a year on everything. I did the livingsocial Second Empire deal $30 for $60 worth of food. Good stuff.

^^OK place...but no beer = no go for groupons to bars.

^Lux Box sucks. Poor beer selection, poor food selection, poor wait staff talent.

I may be missing something, but I can't find the link where you refer it to friends and if they buy, you get yours free. There's a good one for my favorite Chinese place in Charlotte and I know all my friends will probably buy it too, but I can't find the link.
7/13/2011 8:07:33 AM
^x5I would think Lynnwood will die back down eventually once the novelty of their new place dies down.
7/13/2011 8:21:04 AM
^^ Groupon doesnt do that. Groupon gives you a $10 voucher if you refer someone new to groupon

Places that give crazy deep discounts over their regular price just remind me to never go there.means their margins are too high.

How do Groupon expiration dates work? If the expiration data us 11/10/11, can it still be used today? Also I saw something about getting your purchase price back on expired Groupons:
11/10/2011 9:42:24 AM
No that means Groupon will give you a credit for that voucher. At least that's how it worked when I had an issue with one of their vouchers a few months ago.As far as if you can use that voucher today, it's honestly going to depend on the vendor. I would think most people would take it but I could see someone quibbling over what the expiration date means with you.huh well it sounds like according to their terms of sale it's no bueno from November 10th.
11/10/2011 9:45:41 AM
Last time I had one the merchant let me use it on the expiration date...didn't know if that was the policy or if I just got lucky.
11/10/2011 9:52:42 AM
Yeah I've used them on the expiration date as well. I really think it's up to the store whether they take it or not.
11/10/2011 9:53:27 AM
I always took expiration dates in general to mean that is the last day you can use it and I've never had a problem.I had a kanki one that expired a few weeks ago (zspotlight though). I called kanki and the manager said they would still honor the face value and give me a free app. so its worth a try to call the merchant.

11/28/2011 10:16:45 AM
well it was stupid for the company to do such a large discount and allow so many deals to be sold, all without some restrictions.I've heard from a friend that is close to the creator, that groupon may be going under... I don't know how you fuck up this kind of company, but apparently their operating costs have soared and Groupon isn't getting enough money from their deal sales.

Groupon: The Easiest Way to Predict When a Local Business is Closing
11/28/2011 11:46:42 AM
I got the Boylan Bridge Brewpub Groupon on Friday. It was $10 for a Brewery tour for two and pub glasses. We did the tour on Saturday. The tours run every half hour starting at 2pm. We got there early, watched a little bit of the Wolfpack game and drank a couple beers. Then we went on the tour. Lasted ~30 minutes and we got to sample all their beers. There were ten people on the tour, all had done the Groupon deal. So 5 couples=$50. $50 to talk for 30 minutes about your brewery and like a 1/4 pitcher each of all your beers for people to sample. Plus after the tour, everybody went to sit outside and eat/drink more. We sat down and ate lunch and had a couple more beers. The only problem that the owner (he's the one that gives the tours) had w/ Groupon is that they weren't supposed to start the deal until 12/6 but somehow it got started on Friday. His next shipment of pub glasses isn't coming in til 12/6 so he didn't want to start the deal until he had enough glasses for everybody. So he had barely enough glasses for everybody on my tour and the tours after ours were issued vouchers for their glasses.Oh yeah, after we ate lunch, we walked back inside the bar and the Wolfpack was on their way to tying the game so we sat at the bar and drank more. So yeah, I would think that Groupon is probably going to be profitable for Boylan Bridge.[Edited on November 28, 2011 at 12:05 PM. Reason : g]
