One day soon* I'll be able to stroll out to my driveway, hop in my personal aircraft, and travel to the moon. Now I just sit back and wait for the day when that can happen, so I can brag on the internet about how I told everybody so.*soon being sometime between the next 2 weeks and the next 2,000 years. But the timeline really isn't that important.

Got this earlier this morning, here's hoping a few weeks really means "a few days" and not 6 months.
10/31/2011 10:06:40 AM
I like how gmail marked that as spam for me
10/31/2011 5:27:39 PM
Logitech units getting the update yet?
11/2/2011 8:44:03 PM
Not yet.
11/2/2011 8:59:37 PM
Can these things stream from a DLNA source or from a Windows share? I've seen some mentions of a Logitech Media app on the Revue that might be able to do it but I can't confirm nor deny this.
11/2/2011 9:23:18 PM
DLNA yes, SMB, no.
11/2/2011 9:29:14 PM
^For the DLNA support, I assume its via that Logitech app?
11/2/2011 9:59:16 PM
Yep. Although this (and probably a handful of other 3rd party apps) should change things once the update hits.]
11/2/2011 10:03:46 PM
^^Yes, the Revue supports DLNA streaming through the media player. I've had the most success with using the windows media server app TVersity. One major caveat about the Logitech's native media player is that it doesn't support the DTS audio codec, which sucks becuase that's the most common format for ripped Blu-ray DVDs. It does support AC3 however, but the extracting/re-encoding process is a huge pain in the ass. The hope that this remedied by a 3rd party app is the only reason I've kept the box throughout this major flaw.

I have not gotten the update yet. I think it might be this Sunday???? Don't remember why I think that, but maybe read it somewhere??? Theverge.com?
11/3/2011 3:40:24 PM
It's Sunday...did anybody get it?
11/6/2011 8:26:28 PM
Nope
11/8/2011 7:07:05 AM

11/8/2011 12:22:29 PM
Did my update last night, but didn't play around with it too much. Interface does look MUCH better.
11/9/2011 1:15:31 PM

wtf is this next few weeks BS. They said that a few weeks ago Glad I didn't get my little brother one of these for his birthday - maybe Xmas If it's not live by Dec 1st I'm getting a boxee box.
11/11/2011 4:16:30 PM
still no revue update
11/13/2011 7:53:48 PM
^how about now?
12/1/2011 7:44:46 PM
No. Fuck Logitech. Or Google. Whoever's to blame. This shit is ridiculous.
12/1/2011 8:10:55 PM
Xbox update is coming in 5 days
12/1/2011 8:45:39 PM
I have my new Roku 2 XS plugged into the HDMI-in on my Revue and I've been using that. If this google tv update isn't spectacular the roku will take it's place permanently.
12/1/2011 10:16:04 PM
I already have a Roku....I'm wanting a web browser on my TV - and I'm either getting a Revue, a Boxee or rigging up a computer to do the lifting. I liked that I could still watch TV in the picture in picture while browsing. But this update needs to drop yesterday so it's up to snuff with a bugfix by the time I'm plugging it up the day after christmas.I've already given up on the google talk video integration and I'm snapping up some biscotti for non-techno family members.
12/2/2011 12:25:16 PM
12/2/2011 12:38:11 PM
^ 12/6 will launch a new Xbox Dashboard. Will have integrated Bing content search, LiveTV services for several major cableco's, Phone companion app, Voice and Kinect integration throughout.Basically it's adding everything GoogleTV does poorly, plus CableTV integration, plus kinect, plus voice. All for $99 bucks (+40/yr for xbox live).
12/2/2011 2:26:40 PM
Eh. I'm not saying I'm not looking forward to a couple of the new features of the new Xbox Dashboard. But you're REALLY stretching things there.Which, given your ardent fervor for all things Microsoft, isn't remotely surprising.
12/2/2011 3:05:57 PM
anyone want to sell me their used Google TV they don't want anymore?
12/2/2011 3:07:34 PM
^^^ except it doesn't have a web browser and a robust marketplace yet.

12/7/2011 10:44:39 PM
i didnt check mine at home yet but i'm hoping the hype has finally become reality
12/8/2011 12:01:02 PM
So is the Revue finally worth $99?(I know it's EOL) Is there any other companion box that's coming out? I really don't want to have to buy a TV to get Google TV....[Edited on December 8, 2011 at 12:40 PM. Reason : .]
12/8/2011 12:38:58 PM
These cocksuckers, taking what I should've had for months now and announcing it like some grand fucking favor. Ridiculous.
12/8/2011 2:04:35 PM
12/8/2011 2:16:21 PM
I believe there's a Sony box running Google TV that also exists
12/8/2011 2:45:45 PM
if it gives me native youtube and amazon video apps, i'm gonna be super excited
12/8/2011 4:15:15 PM
I just went by my sister's house this afternoon to visit my Revue. Still no update.
12/8/2011 5:07:30 PM
*yawn* still nothing...
12/9/2011 9:06:46 AM
^^here's what I meant by "worth $99?"... Does it finally compete with other devices that provide a similar service and similar specs? Like the Roku, Boxee, etc.I mean, the real benefit that I saw the Revue having was that you could connect to your Dish Network box... I was really hoping this would spread to interface with all the STB's on the market, this is really where GoogleTV separates itself from the competition, but it seems GoogleTV is getting stonewalled on that arena.Well that and playing Android apps/games on your TV.[Edited on December 9, 2011 at 12:51 PM.
