^hey look, a liberal american citizen who sides with mexicans over americans, what a shocker...i really cant believe a far left liberal would support mexicans celebrating at school and distracting education like that as opposed to supporting the 1st amendment...boy you sure are giving liberals a bad name! how dare Dominic Maciel like the country he lives in more than the shitty country his father was from! Stupid cunt kid protesting America! must be a dumb Christian redneck! oh wait, he's Mexican? THIS BLOWS MY MIND^^no of course, no ideanothing to do with you starting this whole lame shit by claiming a flag on a shirt is a "flag"cause obviously, a US flag on a shirt should not be worn at school, at least on May 5th, because kids of the people who moved here because they hated Mexico and how shitty it was should ALL celebrate Mexico, even if kids of Mexican descent want to wear shirts with American flags like one of the kids who was kicked out of school for the day yesterdayYou have to love political correctness when a Mexican-American gets sent home for the day for supporting America instead of Mexico...and you have to love the liberals for advocating it and supporting itmoron just stick to giving harsh opinions of what dumb white redneck kids should do...don't try and comment on what mexican kids should do on cinco de mayo[Edited on May 7, 2010 at 3:28 AM. pussysysysysylololi bet you shit your pants when the phillies fan got tased too didnt youITT, carzak and moron know more about Mexican race relations on Cinco de Mayo than Dominic Maciel, a student of Mexican heritage at Live Oak High School]
5/7/2010 3:28:33 AM
first off, I believe the kids aren't 100% innocent in this; I say that because if my high school principle told me that I couldn't wear my shirt/hat because it had an american flag, I would have quickly told him to fuck off. I have a long family history of military service, so my family would have backed me up on that.secondly, school administration officials who did this are completely retarded.
5/7/2010 7:44:11 AM
ITT TreeTwista proves it is possible to be even more retarded than both the students and the administration combined.
5/7/2010 7:57:15 AM
Here's what this thread boils down to:Basically everyone agrees the kids were acting like douchenozzles on purpose on a prominent Mexican holiday by dressing head to toe in American flag gear.Basically everyone agrees that, although they were acting like douchenozzles, they shouldn't have been asked to remove their flag apparel.Where it all went wrong was when TT refused to acknowledge that he was wrong regarding US Flag Code. Unfortunately, from there the thread descended into a shit storm of blatant trolling and deliberate intellectual dishonesty.

5/7/2010 8:14:52 AM
Prominence doesn't speak to its importance or lack thereof. Whether it's a very important Mexican holiday or not is irrelevent. It has become prominent in the united states as a Mexican holiday.
5/7/2010 8:41:22 AM
5/7/2010 9:14:33 AM
^^The only reason its prominant in the US is to drum up business for bars and Mexican restaurants. That's about it. Otherwise nobody gives a shit.Furthermore, its hilarious that people celebrate Cinco De Mayo as a day to be proud of their Mexican heritage. It celebrates the Mexican army beating the French army in the town of Puebla. Why were the French at war with the Mexicans? B/c the Mexicans owed the French a lot of money and decided not to pay them back.Although, given how crappy a country Mexico is, celebrating something like that seems perfectly in line.[Edited on May 7, 2010 at 9:19 AM. Reason : it doesn't even have to be said that nobody in Mexico gives a shit about this "holiday" anyway]
5/7/2010 9:18:38 AM
^^^ noted...on technicality alone. However, referring to Cinco de Mayo as a "prominent Mexican holiday" is misleading.

i'm still waiting for someone to click moron's link and find his entire string of text and realize that he quoted text from a summary, then posted a different link that contained part of the quote, but wouldnt back down from my claim that his link and quote didn't match upsince thats the only thing i was arguing with him]
5/7/2010 12:43:37 PM
Mr. Tree Twister have you ever seen somebody use a quotation in a sentence before
5/7/2010 12:52:14 PM
Mr. Danger, have you ever seen someone google the flag code, post a quote from a summary site, link a DIFFERENT site, then refuse to admit he's done so?
5/7/2010 12:57:15 PM
You're losing pretty hard, sir. Never seen somebody go down in flames over such a trivial issue in TSB before lol. Tree Twister taking the effin' cake.

Hey, remember these douchebags? http://www.gilroydispatch.com/news/266724-families-of-live-oak-students-sue-school-district-over-cinco-de-mayo-incident

Who's footing their legal bills?
6/25/2010 10:44:05 AM
It's probably pro bono because the law firms are getting some free pub from all this. But I see that won't stop them from milking the school district for the money.
6/25/2010 10:50:20 AM
Hasn't the Supreme Court ruled before on other cases that dealt with student-caused disruptions in school settings? Seems like I recall that there's a bit of precedent.
6/25/2010 10:57:26 AM
maybe next time the principal wont kick them out of school for wearing american flag shirts in americai'm glad i didnt go to school in this era of complete political correctness and pussification]
6/25/2010 12:29:32 PM
Would you have opposed the suspension of a student, who normally wouldn't, dressing in traditional Muslim garb on September 12th, 2001?[Edited on June 25, 2010 at 12:34 PM. Reason : ]
6/25/2010 12:33:53 PM
maybe the next time the kids will listen to their principal/boss/etc and not act like douchebags, but I'm guessing not since their parents are backing them on their douchebaggery in hopes of making some easy cash.
6/25/2010 12:34:34 PM
^Exactly. This isn't a free speech issue. It's a "school is a place to learn, not to act like an incendiary douchebag" lesson.
6/25/2010 12:35:12 PM
wearing a shirt with an american flag = acting like a douchebagoh no, i cannot learn here since these kids are wearing shirts with flags on them]
6/25/2010 12:35:51 PM
Wearing a shirt with an American flag on a day when you knew the school would be celebrating Mexican heritage = acting like a douchebag.
6/25/2010 12:36:50 PM
If it wasn't obvious before, the suit just confirms that this whole thing was just a cry for attention. These people should probably get a life and stop picking on a assuredly cash strapped school district just to prove some retarded point.Way to go. You acted like douchebags and asserted your constitutional rights and got absolutely nothing. Congratulations. Go fuck yourself.
6/25/2010 12:37:11 PM
going to school in america and bitching and moaning about people wearing american flag shirts = biggest fucking douchebags imaginablei like how you guys twist things around to shit on the 1st amendment when it doesnt agree with youTHESE SHIRTS ARE A DISTRACTION TO THE LEARNING PROCESS!]
6/25/2010 12:37:26 PM
Suing that school district without any damages just to wave your cock around = king of all douchebags
6/25/2010 12:42:42 PM
what about all the people calling them huge douchebags a month ago before there ever was a lawsuitand i take it that the opposite of waving your cock around is shitting on the constitution?]
6/25/2010 12:43:37 PM
I trust the principal over the kids, and he gave them an easy out (can't remember if it was turn the shirts inside out or change, either way), and they refused and got the news involved. Pretty douchebaggy.
6/25/2010 12:47:17 PM
6/25/2010 12:47:54 PM
these kids aren't my friends, and the principal isn't a cop, but whatever keeps your rage going, friend
6/25/2010 12:48:30 PM
whatever you have to tell yourself to keep convincing yourself that these kids were in the wrong for being patrioticstill i dont know why you blindly trust some principal you havent met]
6/25/2010 12:49:25 PM
mostly I don't believe that they were 'just being patriotic'. They were enough of a disturbance to get the principal's attention, and he didn't even come down hard on them, and I'm not sure why you want to blindly trust some high school kids and their money hungry parents.

Besides, you sort of give up your "constitutional rights" when you go to school. Most of the time people have no problem with it, but I think a lot of you are just using this as a platform to launch into anti-government anti-immigrant arguments and whatnot.I have "the right" to wear gang colors, as given by the first amendment. But I can't wear them in school. Is that a violation of my first amendment rights?^Oh just give it a rest already, man.[Edited on June 25, 2010 at 12:59 PM. Reason : ]
