I kind of think garnett is the guy holding that team back, he was the real mvp and key to their first title but he's fading the most, pierce and allen can keep drilling a lot of jumpshots for several more years, if they replaced kevin with some young talented guy I think that team could have a resurgence

Thats what you call a bait line. When it seems obvious one team is going to win and the other team is favored in the line everyone is like "wow, put the house on this" and the other team blows them out.

Ya, its sord of a conspiracy theory i've had for a while but anytime a line is too obvious I stay away.

With a cast on his most important shooting finger. I've never seen anything like this.

^^ You've never seen a guy shoot below 43% and only manage 1 assist with 4 turnovers?

He posted a win score of 5 for god's sake and he played 41 minutes.

Why don't you wait for him to have a good game before you get too excited.

Gasol was 13.5 in 36 minutes so even after we adjust for position Gasol was still much more important than Kobe tonight.

They are squeaking out games at home against an 8 seed comprised of teenagers. Talk about getting carried away.

Ya I watched the game and Kobe took over in the 4th qtr when the other lakers mostly balled up. This performance with a huge cast on his main shooting finger was astonishing.

That Miami/Boston game was abysmal.

Miami can't be helping their chances of keeping Wade in the offseason. I figured they'd win one series, bow out in the next, sign Amare, then ball out for the next 5 or 6 years. Wade has got to be wanting to get the fuck out of there now.

And gg Suns. Nice beating they dished out last night. I would love to see them keep this momentum and close out the series. Would help them a lot if Batum couldn't come back from the shoulder injury.

I don't think he stays in Miami.

I know the Knicks are going to make a run at him, but I'd love to see him sign with his hometown Bulls. They've got the supporting cast in place and Wade/Rose backcourt would be

I don't think Wade and Rose would be all that great. Talented? Of course. Cohesive? HELL NO. Rose has an Iverson-like characteristic about him as a point guard where he needs to have the ball in his hands to be effective and has a score-first mentality...very similar to Wade, a SG, who also has that same mentality.

Both need the ball in their hands to be effective. Wade going to NY seems much more likely, especially after Cleveland wins the championship this year and retains Lebron.

Wade and Rose would be interesting. I think they'd find a way to make it work, but it could blow up like Iverson/Melo a few years back

I hate the Mavs. Enjoyed last night's game, especially after Cuban made those comments the other day. I don't think Richard Jefferson can be consistent enough for the Spurs to keep this up, but they should at least be able to take another game or two...especially at home. Mavs better be careful.

How can you like the spurs? Bunch of foreigners and Tim Duncan, who is probably the most boring superstar in NBA history. Their coach is a huge prick, and they play a boring style of ball. Fuck them in the ass with a big rubber dick.

I love Cuban because he's the one owner who does anything to help his team get the best players and doesn't worry about the salary cap or any miscellaneous bullshit. Go over the tax to get Haywood and Butler? No problem. Put a weight room on the team plane? No problem. Get over a million dollars in fines over the past several years just to talk shit about the refs? No problem. He's how I'd like to think I'd run my team if I had a few billion just laying around.

I would run my team that way as well...I just can't stand his personality. It gets on my nerves.

I'll have to assume that Steinbrenner is your favorite baseball manager then??

I too like how Cuban runs his team, but the way he acts and his personality is a bit over the edge WWE like. But damn, he can run a team. Hopefully he will be rewarded with a championship. Too bad he let Nash go or it would have already happened.

Cavs need to tighten up, theyve been walking on thin ice the last couple of games. I cant tell if the Bulls are just a bad matchup for the cavs or if there is reason to be really really concerned. they cannot play like this and expect to beat the magic/lakers

I think we're already seeing the Cavs have a serious liability at the center position between Shaq/Ilgauskas. Ilgauskas is too old to really contribute and Shaq looked good game 1 after a two month layoff, but he will be worn down easily after squaring off with Howard or Bynum a few games.

That being said, I think the Cavs could thrash the Bulls 9 times out of 10 in a one game playoff but they aren't going balls out right now thats for sure.

I wouldnt be surprised to see them come back to win this game down 11 after three though.

overated cavs giving 100% in the regular season and people like rally sucking the stat sheet off then when the playoffs come its gonna be obvious that they are only the 3rd or 4th best team overall.

the bulls are BY FAR the worst playoff team.

agreed, the bulls are terrible.

Sucking the stat sheet off?

I think they are better than the Lakers with Bynum out but now that he's healthy I think Cleveland is the 3rd best team behind Orlando / LA.

If Orlando had homecourt advantage against Cleveland and I didnt think the league wanted Cle/LA so badly I'd drop a nutload on Orlando to win the East.

why would the league want cleveland la. what kind of headline would it be to have the bst player in the league going up against the 11th best player in the league?

Kobe is great to watch, the degree of difficulty on his shots is tops in the league.

He's a star no doubt. The best players aren't usually the sexy ones to watch. (i.e. Tim Duncan, Garnett, etc)

I mean if Kobe cared more about winning or was a better basketball player he'd just take/get easier shots like James does.

But he prefers playing the martyr and blaming his teammates for his own deficiencies as a basketball player.
