the bodies outside seemed to be past the decomposition stage (they weren't bloated). so they're probably in the putrefication stage, but i didn't see lots of liquid goo pooling around them...so maybe early putrefication. so that's between 3-4 weeks.
11/1/2010 8:12:45 PM
^ but the bodies could have been there decaying while the hospital was up and running still. Just because the outside bodies were decaying doesn't mean he was being untended for the same amount of time.

Won me over. However, the gf... not so much--she had to leave the room. ehh, she won't watch Mad Men either.
11/1/2010 8:20:01 PM
^^yeah. idk, i just seems to me like a hospital with a zombie problem wouldn't be accepting new patients period, but it could still happen.^i LOVE mad men!!!! even my grandma loved mad men. why doesn't your gf like it? i've become a puss over the last couple of years w/ scary & emotionally intense/anxious movies & shows. i leave during dexter sometimes bc i'm about to have heart attack. i did fast forward through a couple of spots in this show bc i thought there was going to be a lot more of the zombie-jumps-out-at-you kind of thing. there wasn't though.[Edited on November 1, 2010 at 8:22 PM. She'd rather nerd out with her TV shows.

here's two of my favorite covers from the comics

^^perhaps those are somewhat a spoiler? idk, but let's leave the comic book plots out of this thread. for those that have read them feel free to bring up slight deviations that the TV show contains, but try not and spoil future events or unknown characters for those not reading ahead.

Tank scene was pretty awesome.
11/2/2010 8:39:23 AM
how hard ya think it is to drive a tank? cause if i was him i'd be trying to learn.
11/2/2010 9:09:01 AM
^^^Agreed, I felt bad for the horsey.
11/2/2010 10:24:14 AM

Making noise was one thing they made a big deal about b/c that could attract hordes of zombies from all directions but then Morgan goes and starts firing the rifle to get his zombie wife there to shoot her. That should have screwed him and his son over by bring all those zombies up to the house and probably knocked the doors down.
11/2/2010 11:49:39 AM
yeah, but he also made mention that the zombies were a lot more aggressive at night so maybe he felt less of a threat.
11/2/2010 2:20:17 PM
He talked about needing target practice which is gonna make noise wherever he is... You might as well practice on zombies, and the boarded up house is probably the safest place to do it from.Plus, He can kill off a few of the locals, and hopefully put his wife to rest before he leaves the area. They haven't really said that one gunshot will create a swarm of zombies banging on his door, just that it would attract attention[Edited on November 2, 2010 at 2:25 PM. Awesome first episode.I didn't get the vibe that they were going for scary. At least not in a normal sense. The psychological torment i think was well represented. Kind of still in a daze about what is going on much like the main character.Well done.

I want to see a zombie horse.
11/2/2010 5:00:17 PM
you mean a zombie raptor...
11/2/2010 7:03:11 PM
i'm hoping they keep it up with the dvr friendly second episode at 11pm, i wish other shows/networks would do that
11/2/2010 7:32:51 PM
what you mean dvr friendly?
11/2/2010 8:10:44 PM
sunday evening is a pretty booked tv time I would guess
11/2/2010 8:19:42 PM
Awesome! Man, AMC is killing it!
11/2/2010 9:17:27 PM
^^^ I can't have multiple things recording and still watch the game in HD. So its nice that I can pick between the 10 and 11 showings.
11/2/2010 9:20:31 PM
Just watched the premiere and I really liked it.I love suspenseful stuff, and I too thought there were going to be a ton of zombie jumping at you scenes, but I wasn't disappointed that there wasn't.The "suprise" scare seems like a cheap tactic. I loved the way they did it, lots of moments holding my breath or bracing myself, only to have nothing happen. Great show so far, will keep watching.

11/2/2010 10:07:00 PM
Great series so far... (i mean all of one episode)... My wife didn't like it when the horse was taken out. I love it when someone gets so upset about an animal dying but couldn't give a shit about people/kids being killed.
11/2/2010 10:44:32 PM
^^More like sounds like you need Uverse. Also I just watched this last night. Liked it. Only six episodes.
11/3/2010 9:01:59 AM
^Good thing those 6 episodes are about an hour and a half each!^^People probably deserve it lol

I was kinda wondering why he used his revolver in the opening scene to shoot the little girl in the head, but I guess he just got back into his car and drove off. Also, wouldn't his police station have a gas storage of some kind for reserves? And why didn't he bring more gas? I mean I would have decked the whole drunk with gas cans.[Edited on November 3, 2010 at 1:27 PM. Reason : ]

My wife commented that he generally did not act appropriately in the face of Zombie Apocalypse.
11/3/2010 2:17:53 PM
Yeah, he didn't grab any photo albums... oh wait...
11/3/2010 2:31:56 PM

I'm just surprised he didn't have any melee weapons in the tricks bag, although a shotgun butt could easily fill that role. Not that I'm complaining, but how easy is it for human hands to penetrate and rip apart horse flesh so easily? Granted they are zombies, but wouldn't their lower dexterity abilities somehow reduce their forcible strength abilities as well? It's like they pulled the "beating heart trick" from indy jones.
11/3/2010 3:05:55 PM
So maybe I missed it, but how come nobody's mentioned how incredibly stupid the group of survivors are for sleeping in TENTS?I mean like...wtf? tents? I don't think I could think of a worse place to sleep. You have free access to literally EVERY BUILDING EVER BUILT ON THE PLANET, and you decide that the best line of defense between you and hordes of zombies is a piece of fabric? Tha fuck?]
11/3/2010 3:07:21 PM
yeah, their camp didn't look fortified at all, I mean a camper? Need a death bus with metal meshing for windows and a slit for the chainsaw. But then again, they were in the country...[Edited on November 3, 2010 at 3:23 PM. Reason : ]
11/3/2010 3:23:37 PM
yea i was thinking that cause they were in the country in the middle of no-where the chances of running into zombies would be minimal as opposed to the major cities, like ATL, where there were thousands just chilling when the dude turned the corner on horseback.
