anybody go to the Govt Mule show on Friday?i want some info on how smoothly it ran and how general admission worked
7/19/2010 10:04:18 PM
I'm gonna be there tomorrow. At some point I'm going to need to make a phone call. Is a quiet place going to be easy to find?
7/27/2010 8:07:58 PM
i couldn't hear the paramore show and i was two blocks from it, and they're certainly louder than gov't mulei don't think it'll be that loud out of the beam of the PA
7/27/2010 8:34:05 PM
so stone temple pilots are playing here in octoberi went on friday and thought it was a nice enough place...it definitely is not super loud thoughthey need to fix the issues with the lines...it took forever to get in...only two gates, one person at a time.
7/28/2010 5:37:38 PM
that's b/c the JACKPIT patio /= the boutique amphitheater it's in downtown Raleigh, why the hell would you expect them to put on a decent show?[Edited on July 29, 2010 at 3:34 AM. Reason : ///]
7/29/2010 3:30:24 AM
since when is the jackpot two blocks from the amphitheatre?i wasn't exaggerating when i said two blocks.still couldn't hear it, though.
7/29/2010 4:55:06 AM
i park right beside the damn thing, work a block away from it, and frequent bars on Martin & Wilmington, and i can't hear anything from the venue either.it's a great set up, and the lack of spillover noise probably bodes well for the venue, but their booking still sucks huge balls.
7/30/2010 1:04:47 AM
going to the barenaked ladies show there tomorrow, will be my first time there.how's the parking situation? plenty of it?
7/30/2010 8:23:43 AM
There's a 4+ level public parking deck at the corner of Davie and Dawson, right beside the thing.
7/30/2010 11:05:25 AM
park streetside for free. the parking decks charge on event nights
7/30/2010 11:11:07 AM
Also do your drinking before you go, $9 a beer in there[Edited on July 30, 2010 at 1:37 PM. Reason : oh and once you're in there, if you leave you cant come back in]
7/30/2010 1:35:47 PM
I would go to the Barenaked Ladies show, but they suck without Steven Page.
7/30/2010 8:25:50 PM
saw BNL... they still put on a great show. first time in the amphitheatre... i enjoyed it. nice to have stuff to do downtwon around it before and after too.
8/1/2010 12:04:37 AM
there's always stuff to do downtown
8/1/2010 4:31:37 AM
exactly.
8/1/2010 2:22:26 PM
mmk. that made it sound like there's not things to do before/after at other times.
8/1/2010 2:29:52 PM
i thought it sounded more like there being something to do after a show, within walking distance, as opposed to the lack of things to do after a show at Koka or TWC
8/1/2010 3:31:02 PM
so how was paramore show? what did they do?
8/16/2010 7:43:43 AM
play songs...it was good if youre into itatleast they played my heart (screaming version)in other news, Stone temple pilots and 311 are playing there in the fall (separate shows)
8/16/2010 6:25:56 PM
so they did a lot of riot stuff? brand new eyes? both?

beach house + shimmer wall + a cool fall night = [Edited on August 23, 2010 at 9:17 PM. Reason : BLACK AND WHITE HORSE]

did the vampire weekend/beach house show just get announced or did i miss the announcement?i am cautiously interested in seeing vampire weekend live. i know they probably won't be very good live, but i'm still curious. throw beach house on the bill, and i'm in.wow, tickets are actually REALLY reasonable: $28.50/$37.50 and that's AFTER ticketmaster's $12.00 service fee. hard to believe mgmt is charging significantly more than vampire weekend/beach house.[Edited on August 23, 2010 at 10:37 PM. 8/23/2010 10:15:31 PM
sorry, STP....I love ya and everything, but I can't see myself paying $42 plus fees to see ya
8/23/2010 11:19:32 PM
I am excited for this Vampire Weekend show. From what I've seen of them, they are pretty good live. Should be fun times. Beach House too. Hooray.
8/24/2010 11:49:39 AM
ibtvinylbanditshittingonvampireweekendSTS9 tomorrrow, and I'm looking forward to VW / Beach House
8/24/2010 1:02:01 PM
FUCK YES I'm STOKED for sound tribe
8/24/2010 10:46:04 PM
I have bashed the booking by this shitty venue from day 1 ---- so now, I must praise them for booking VW and Beach House.finally, a decent lineup (especially with Beach House)
8/25/2010 9:29:36 PM
It's nice to have, but it sucks that it ended Bud Light Downtown Live.
8/26/2010 1:54:07 AM
yes, i loved rednecks rolling in and being non-tipping assholes to my friends so that they could see the goddamn marshall tucker band play an 80 minute setp.s. my plan for the beach house show is to lay on top of a parking deck and make out during their set and then do something more interesting when culture club vampire weekend is playing
8/26/2010 3:42:08 AM
downtown live was awful, just awful.
8/26/2010 3:51:33 AM
Vampire Weekend/Beach House tickets bought. Went to the box office to get the student discount, spent $49 total on two seated center section tickets. As far as I'm concerned, that's a great price for the two bands involved.
8/27/2010 1:52:58 PM
$25 a piece is not bad at all. I can't get that discount, though.
8/27/2010 2:55:19 PM
I bet you could get away with it if you have an expired old student ID. They did not check mine closely at all.
8/27/2010 3:01:37 PM
Big4Country is the only person in Raleigh who misses Bud Light Downtown Live
8/27/2010 3:02:20 PM
Because the rest of them live in Clayton.
