hahahahaha, look how mad you are.Its almost comical.

actually I think el nacho is right, I'm pretty sure cnn specifically reported that the contract stated conan could be moved to 12:05, plus I doubt they could get away with violating conan's contract so obviously/ conan hasn't said anything about itand i think the issue is simply that leno's tonight show had better ratings than conan's so far, so they want to keep the guy that can make them the most money short term
1/12/2010 5:44:19 PM
El Nacho never stated anything about 1205The ratings are going to be lower at first, he is a new host. The whole argument is that El Nacho said that Conan wouldn't be paid if he walkedI said he would.Neiter side, NBC or Conan seems to think that the other is correct.
1/12/2010 5:49:44 PM
What part of that was contradictory exactly?
1/12/2010 6:03:01 PM
I was saying what TMZ was reporting. I never said anything about the contract saying 11:35.So to sit here and tell me that what I was saying is 100% wrong when I was just relaying what TMZ was reporting is calling TMZ 100% wrong.

Absolutely nailed it.]
1/12/2010 6:13:27 PM
1/12/2010 6:17:20 PM
So what specific amount of time were you referring to when you said the words "his time slot"?[Edited on January 12, 2010 at 6:20 PM. Reason : Because currently he's in the 11:35 slot. Maybe you were unaware of this little bit of info.]
1/12/2010 6:19:20 PM
Once again, like I said, the contract does not mention the 1135 times slot. You know why? Because it airs at different times around the country. The time slot for the Tonight Show has always been after the local news.A time slot is not always a specific time per say.
1/12/2010 6:22:10 PM
1/12/2010 6:24:03 PM
1/12/2010 6:25:30 PM
So if thats true, tell me why it airs at 10:35pm central time.Ah shit, haha, admit, I kinda misspoke on that one.But you get my point. Its pretty much implied that the tonight show airs at a certain time and place, so it didn't need to be mentioned.[Edited on January 12, 2010 at 6:33 PM. Reason : .]

after reading this whole thread. I really think Kayak has some sort of deal/infatuation with TMZ. We get it. You dont have to keep talking about the TMZ. NO ONE CARES.
1/13/2010 1:45:30 AM
Opinion: Jay Leno should host a car show (seriously... this could go very well), Conan should get his time back, Fallon can do whatever because no one cares about him.[Edited on January 13, 2010 at 2:34 AM. Reason : .]
1/13/2010 2:34:15 AM
lol @ Conan last night: "always my dream to host 'The Tonight Show' for seven months."
1/13/2010 10:12:31 AM
I'm watching it right now--I loved Deon Cole's comparison to pimps and hos

pretty much why carolla's version of Top Gear got canned a couple years ago. Among other things he wasn't allowed to tell it like it is.But if you enjoy Adam Carolla and Jay Leno, listen to "Adam Carolla's Carcast". new episodes each saturday and Jay Leno is a frequent guest.
1/13/2010 11:10:07 AM
Leno shouldn't host a new car show anyway. It should be a quirkier version of My Classic Car with a less quirky host. For those who don't know, this is the current host of My Classic Car: ]

EVERYONE got good shots in last night. Conan did the entire monologue, two desk bits, and plenty of jokes during both interviews that were all really biting. Letterman did a few monologue bits and then went on a five minute rant about NBC. Kimmel did his Leno impression, and Ferguson kind of thumbed his nose at NBC in his Ferguson-y way. Leno did a single tame joke and left it at that, which is all the indication I need to know that he knows he's at fault and not just a pawn on the same level as Conan.Should be extra fun to watch the Cone Zone for the next few weeks, because the cuts are just going to get deeper, and NBC's options are to sit and take it and look really bad or to force Conan off the air and look worse. ]
1/13/2010 12:02:00 PM
it'd be funny if conan, leno, and fallon all walkeddoes fallon's contract say anything about moving his time slot?[Edited on January 13, 2010 at 12:24 PM. Reason : they can keep carson daly, that'd be like the final blow]
1/13/2010 12:22:12 PM
My opinion of Leno would change dramatically if he were actually to walk away from it all. No way do I see it happening, though.

The pimps and hos analogy last night was pretty much spot on...NBC is just scared to death Jay will go to another network. At this point, however, just letting Jay go is their best option, because thats the only way they come out of this looking remotely good. Theres no guarantee that if Jay went to FOX he would have a hit there anyhow. His audience didnt follow him to 10pm, what makes them think they would follow him to FOX? Jays ratings on The Tonight Show had more to do with the fact that it was The Tonight Show than the fact that Jay was host.
1/13/2010 3:24:40 PM
They should get Leno, Conan, Fallon and Carson and put them in a room and tell them to come up with a solution that suits them all.
1/13/2010 3:26:53 PM
The top executives at Comcast must be, like, "WTF have you idiots--Zucker!--done to late night at NBC?" Why haven't this guy and his team been enthusiastically fired?
1/13/2010 3:28:45 PM
Conan ratcheting up the making fun of NBC bit he always does.
1/13/2010 11:41:06 PM
WOW.That opening was hilarious.I look forward to the next few weeks as it keeps getting crazier and crazier.I seriously wonder what he could do to get fired, and still be in line with his contract. The bit with Kenneth was pure comedic gold.[Edited on January 13, 2010 at 11:48 PM. Reason : l]

Conan walking means he leaves NBC without doing a show at all and gets paid. It's looking more and more like that is going to happen.Settlement or not, him walking is him walking. And when it does, you will be wrong.Basically the 3 options are still in play.If somehow he walks with the full $80mil at 20 per year, Fox isn't going to pay him full amount if he comes to them.In English, this breaks down to "Everything we 'reported' the other day was complete bullshit." Still wanna talk about how reputable TMZ is?Basically there is going to be a "settlement" for Conan to just leave. And when that happens I will automatically win because you said he would not get paid for leaving.Even if it is $1, I win.Just give up, you will not win this argument.
1/14/2010 1:41:52 AM
1/14/2010 1:51:17 AM
They never said they were wrong. If it turns out that it was implied that it was 1135, then they are in violation and he can STILL walk with the $80mil possibly.Until its all over,we won't know. But either way you said he couldn't walk and get paid.He is going to at least get something. So when it comes down to it, you will be wrong. Deal with it kid.Damm dude, you are 28 and on here arguing with a college kid at 2am in the morning????? Seriously, get a fucking life man. [Edited on January 14, 2010 at 1:54 AM. Reason : .]

I read through each post carefully and have determined that KaYaK wins this argument easily. He didn't achieve a knock-out victory, but he landed more punches and dominated overall.[Edited on January 14, 2010 at 7:14 AM. Reason : s]
1/14/2010 7:07:43 AM
If NBC is responsible for paying the 20 million per year, If I were Conan I would go to fox for a salary of 1 dollar a year and make NBC pick up the rest.

Finally getting around to watching last night's Tonight Show...Jack McBrayer RULED.
1/14/2010 1:33:38 PM
apparently his final week will be next week and they are trying to book as many big guests as they can
1/14/2010 1:34:14 PM
Wow, lot of cat fights in this thread. Drop it you douchebags, quit sidetracking things.
1/14/2010 4:13:18 PM
Yep...his official last day is Jan 22nd
1/14/2010 4:54:23 PM
in general, but for the next two weeks.Monologue and McBrayer bit were brutal last night, and then Gervais came on and was happy to be a setup man as much as possible.Flip over to Letterman, and he rips NBC for five minutes for the second night in a row, then does a Top Ten on Jeff Zucker.
